Well this was a nice cheesecake to kill your time but well... Towards the end the stories turned into complete cheese and I couldn't stop begging them to STFU when they started to periodically retell the story about the heart transplant. When I heard it like 3 times I thought it was ok to remind us for a few times... But after ep 30 or so... I didn't care any more we heard it for xx times already ffs... We get it... Its sad... Fast forward plz...

If you have ever read City hunter the manga in the beginning Ryo Saeba
the animation (if you exclude the OAVS and the movies) its not so good, its truly pretty bad and about Kaori

letme start by parts:
1) Animation and Art: horrible, the faces deform, the emotions are poorly drawn(it'slike they didn't know how to draw emotions on a "revamped" style), weapon models sucks completely(i viewed the city hunter 1 OP, and even with it's 1987 animation, the Colt Python of Ryo has 1000x details than any of the guns portrayed in angel heart), and they even deform.
2) Voices: Hoprrible, Kaori ghost sound like a cheap english dub, total fail
3) Story: WTF, what have they done to city hunter, what was hojo thinking, that friggin Kaori ghost is total crap and gets boring, City hunter not killing anyone and purposedly avoiding killing?, WTF, they turned everyone into a fucking hippie carebear. I think Ryo uses his magnum 4 times TOPS in the entire series and it isn't given any detail.
Also, what happened to Falcon partner(can't remember her name).
Ah yes, all that "mama" "papa" shit is ANNOYING not to mention utterly MORONIC, and what's with them telling their fucking life story to everyone they encounter, wtf, they're underground sweepers!!!!!!.
Also, Keori personality in the flashbacks and stuff is WRONG, it's completely different from all the CH series, it's an insult....
I.e.: Xian Ying bumps into random stranger in the street "oh but i have mama's heart inside... i died, and she died, and now i have her heart, and ryo-papa BLA BLA BLA BS BS BS BS BS" then random stranger sees badly-dubbed Kaori
If you take it as standalone then *maybe* it's a mediocre anime, if you take it as City Hunter sequel then it's way worse.
overall: do not watch it
I have a habit of finishing an anime that I've begun to watch. This anime was a long ordeal for me.
As the previous speaker already mentioned, the "City Hunter" flair is missing completely. None of this is to be found except for very shallow allusions to Ryo's drive to drool after women.
The jabbering about love, Mom and Dad was so grossly exaggerated that even as a woman I asked myself how I would survive 50 episodes of it. Well, now I've made it. Bye Angel Heart...!
It's such a shame that they waste the most beautiful character design in Xiang Ying by telling such a cheesy, overly sentimental story. They should've gone the route of Noir and made everything much more subdued. The best thing about this is definitely Xiang Ying's face design, which makes her the prettiest anime character ever.
