Alfonso Reda

Reda enters his third season with the Royals in 2025 and serves as the team's hitting coach. 

In 2024, Reda helped lead Scranton to its second-ever Landmark Conference Championship and a bid into the NCAA Tournament. The Royals recorded a single-season program record of 30 wins in 2024.

In 2023, Reda guided a Royals' offense that led the Landmark Conference in runs scored (403) and saw OF Corey Zientek earn ABCA All-American honors. Zientek set both a program and Landmark single-season record in stolen bases (39) and runs scored (71). 

Reda is coming off a six-year career in professional baseball as a catcher, having played most recently for the New York Boulders of the Frontier League. While having 3 three stints in the Atlantic League with the Somerset Patriots, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs and the West Virginia Power. Along with the Atlantic League, Reda played with the Texas Airhogs of the American Association League. Reda also spent a year overseas playing in Italy. A Montgomery, N.Y., native, Reda played and coached collegiately at Misericordia University under head coach Pete Egbert, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Most recently, Reda spent one year at Frostburg State University as their graduate assistant, where he helped lead the team to their first conference tournament as a D2 program. He will complete a master's degree in Sport Management from FSU by the end of the ‘23 semester.
