  • It's completely understandable to not know where to start when it comes to your legacy messaging. We've put together 5 Key questions/points to ask yourself to help you to refine your charity's message. Here are a few more that can help you to clarify your charity's voice: 1. Does your charity have a purpose? 2. What stands out about your charity? 3. Is there a certain amount funds needed to be raised for the charity's cause to be complete? Is the funding for life changing research or resources? 4. What would a legacy gift mean to your charity? 5. Is there a milestone you would like your charity reach? If you would like to create a legacy project with us reach out to [email protected] for a friendly chat to get started :)

Passionate Charity Professional | Founder, The Saltways | Ethical Storyteller & Fundraiser | Building Meaningful Connections

Recently, we missed out on a project because we didn't provide speculative creative concepts during the pitch phase. This sparked some important reflections about our values at The Saltways. We've made a conscious decision not to give away our creativity for free before establishing a working relationship with a client. Here's why: 💚 The most powerful charity films emerge when we truly listen first. By working collaboratively with charities and centering the voices of people with lived experience, we create content that genuinely resonates. Pre-made concepts risk missing the nuance and authenticity that comes from proper engagement. 💚Our process isn't about imposing our vision—it's about making space for your truth to emerge. We believe in building concepts together, ensuring that everyone's voice is heard and respected throughout the creative journey. 💚Developing tailored concepts represents significant professional expertise and deserves proper investment. We respect our craft too much to treat it as a commodity to be given away in hopes of securing work. While this approach means we occasionally miss opportunities, we remain committed to these principles. The partnerships we do form are built on mutual respect, shared values, and a genuine commitment to ethical storytelling. What are your thoughts on speculative creative work in pitches? Is it a necessary part of the process or a practice that needs rethinking?
