Snake
I’m the president of the Devils. It’s a job I always wanted: to follow in my father’s footsteps and make him proud. But then I screwed up and trusted my VP, my best friend, who betrayed me and started a coop. I began to question my decisions and my faith in my brothers. My faith in myself. I don’t know which brothers I can trust right now, and I need to clean house. I’m a busy man; I don’t have time for complications. I must focus on my club and the mess I made by not seeing what was happening. Until I see her in our club with her friends. Innocent and oh-so-perfect. She took my breath away, and I instantly knew I had to have her. But danger surrounds me now. Brothers questioning each other while my club is on the brink of falling apart. I can’t bring her into that, but I can’t let her go. I have a decision to make, but the wrong one could get her killed. I just don’t know if I’m selfish enough to let her go.
Sarah
Family is my life. I grew up in a loving home, and my little sister is my best friend. When she got sick, my whole world turned upside down, and instead of tearing each other apart, our family became closer. We stuck together. I wasn’t looking for anything. I only cared about getting through college and helping my parents with my sister. That was my sole focus. But then he walked into my life. Scary and so tempting. He wanted me and became all I could see. He refused to let me slip through his fingers. I know I should be scared; I know I should run. He made my heart race despite him not only being a part of an MC but the president himself. He’s dangerous, and I must think about my family and put them first. But what if he’s my only chance at happiness? What if I don’t feel this consuming feeling again. Can I be selfish and be happy? Or am I putting my family and I in danger by dragging us into his MC world, risking my heart?
This can be read as a standalone, but it is better if books are read in order to get an understanding of other characters. This is book 1 of 7 of The Devil’s MC series, with a HEA. Due to mature content and themes, this book is recommended for readers aged 18+; this novel may contain triggers.
Oh dear. Spell check alert and it's only the blurb.

A coop? Chicken coop? I'm getting a Green Acres vibe.
Real Review.
Okay spellcheck issues aside, this one worked...kind of. There is a love story, but it's between the heroine and her little sister, Tiny Dancer. Little sis has leukemia, and the author managed to wrench more than one tear out of this cynical little heart. In fact, the waiter asked if my margarita was okay. I need to stop reading at restaurants. Anyhoo, it worked. Yes, it's a little emotionally manipulative, but there was a sweet connection between the heroine and the little sister she sacrificed so much for. Unlike many a fictional sister, the little sister was supportive of her big sister as well. Then as Paul Harvey would say, there's the rest of the story. The male character is less of a dog than usual, (Apologies to dogs everywhere.) but he's still no prize. How stupid do you have to believe a club girl on something so easily verified? What, you'll have to read to find out, but the answer is pretty stupid. H regrets it as much as the broken nose the h gives him.
3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK or decent reads ========================= I confess that I was disappointed with the story. Lots of sex scenes with other women and each one was cringe worthy. Club whores and OW do whatever they want without satisfactory punishment. But I like the author's writing and I'm waiting for the next in the series.
DNF. The H went to culinary school in France for a year? There are 80 bedrooms in the clubhouse!!? And this “I walk into the common room; brothers are drinking, and some are even fucking despite old ladies being in the room as well as children”. Umm, no. At least all of this was in the first 2 pages so it saved me some time. I don’t know why I keep trying with this author. The angst has potential but everything else is ridiculous.
If you don’t understand and know how people are in an area you shouldn’t write about it. The author is clearly not from Houston. This isn’t as bad as another book I read where the badass bikers were taking tea and shagging but it’s close. Not a fan of kids with cancer and dying as a plot driver. Also the whole scenario of the H who was in instalove never meeting the dying sister —-and then believing the club whore that the h was making it up that her sister had cancer—- all without even a conversation with the love of his life… too far fetched. There was some angst when he broke up with the h— but all That was wasted later when she didn’t hold his feet to the fire and make him do a true grovel. No 2 weeks later she’s back living with him. And the comeuppance of the 2 lying ow was weak and lame. This author wastes alot of good angst— I wish she could just bring it for once…

This wasn’t perfect, but still fun. There’re TONS of OW drama if that’s your thing. (but some on-page stuff before the couple is together)
Snake/Hunter and Sarah see each other across a crowded bar and Zip BAM POW are bitten by the love/lust bug. Unfortunately, her slutty friend Helena gets there first, and Sarah walks out not interested in sloppy seconds. FFWD two years later and they get their second chance. Too bad, all the skanky wannabe OW are not down with that.
I had grumps but they were small stuff…
⚫ This is the first book, and there is some crossover, but many times I felt like we’d been dropped in mid-story. Maybe some of this was introduced somewhere else, but it wasn’t here, so when all the evil VP raping Star loved by Flame, Crystal, Bones info dump happened; I was lost. The good news is you don’t really need it, but I felt out of sorts anytime we veered into the other mc.
⚫ Some bits don’t really fit, and I found it distracting. For instance, they’re in Texas but it felt like the author is British. Like calling her Love, when you expect Darlin or Honey. Or the author’s confusion of a mechanical engineer vs. a mechanic.
⚫ Some parts are really cheesy especially for bikers.
⚫ The main conflict/cause for the breakup takes a leap to accept a prez could be so gullible. It’s very far-fetched.
Bottom Line- It was fun, just don’t dig deep, but I love OW drama.
When I first started this book I was like didn't I read this already but soon figured out I was wrong. I fucking love this story. I was fun and exciting. I can't wait for the next book.
This was another recommend fail and really I should've know better as this author hasn't worked for me in the past. The book starts with the mother of all info dumps about the club, its history and all its members (so all tell and next to no show) and TBH I was confused at the rush to get it all out before the story even starts. It rambled on so much I was bored out of my mind.
The lack of editing doesn't do the book any favours either.
DNF @ 78% because I just can't do this to myself any longer
Hmmmm honestly I'm bored with this author, all her books are the same just with diff names.
The bikers allow a club whore to tell them a bunch of lies, they act like dicks, are bastards to their h, then the h leaves, the H realises his mistakes and then spends the rest of the time winning her back, da da!
Its beyond formulaic n if this author is going to keep readers loyal she has to come up with some more ideas than the same plot over n over!
Snakes fall from grace was frankly so beyond ridiculous that I stopped being invested n semi quit - i know I finished the book but I quit being attached knowing that I'm done already with this series.
The author has so much potentential. I dont mind the angst n cheating just not the same thing over n over because frankly this is exactly the same as the untamed hell fires mc series.
Also its just plain stupid saying snake went to culinary school in france for a year, maybe snake speaks fluent French because that's what you need if you do that here. I've lived in france for 12 yrs and its extremely difficult to find courses like this in English they're all in French not least because of French laws protecting their language, hell you can barely hear English language music on the radio or TV shows because of this law. So throwing that in was silly.
Also the size of the clubhouse, 80 bedrooms???? I've never read an mc book where they have 80 bedrooms for brothers. They'd need a full time team of chefs to cook for that many people much less clean the place.
Also not sure if this author has dyslexia, consistently throughout all her books she has spelling issues but what makes me think dyslexia is her complete word mistakes such as hypercritical instead of hypocritical there were other words too but I didn't note them. However it was the same in the previous books too. Weird words instead of the correct ones.
Its a shame really but im done with this author.

So very, very bad. Massive info dump at the beginning of the book. A huge, rambling, extremely confusing back story for the MC and a lot of its members.
What I loved: Loved the ow drama!! The way Sarah(h) told Snake/Hunter(H) off both times had me smiling….once when the ow was hanging all over him and lastly when he believed the lies. I liked how great of a sister Sarah was.
What I didn’t like: This book had me crying especially the recording. I don’t like it when a character dies even if it’s a side character. I also thought the way Snake believed the lies was far fetched. He talked to the sister and her parents. All he had to do was asked (but I guess we wouldn’t have any really drama without it).
**Major Spoilers/ Details/Triggers: H is the president of an MC. He just went through a betrayal from a club brother. He also had cancer when he was younger and a woman he was talked to lied about her mom having cancer to get closer to the H. h, in high school found out that her best friend was sleeping with her boyfriend and her sister was just diagnosed with cancer. h is now working two jobs and just graduated from college. She has been help supporting her family and doesn’t do much for herself. h meets the H when she is at a bachelorette party. They make eye contact. Some of the club woman give the h a hard time but they are told to back off. After dating the h gives her virginity to the H. h gets scared but finally lets the H in and introduces the sister to the H over the phone. After being told her sister is dying, the h goes to the club to see the H and sees his old f*ck buddy all over him. h grabs the ow hair and yanks him off of him. She lets him know that the next time she comes to see him and ow on him she is done and just for fun she will get cozy with one of his brothers. Ow slaps the h but she punches her back. H knowing he messed up, grabs her and takes her to his room where he tells her he is an idiot, that he didn’t realize she was there and that it won’t happen again. A month later when the h goes to see the H, she sees the H with her ex best friend from earlier. With his hands are on ow ass,h is told liars aren’t welcomed. H tells her he is done with her because he just found out by her ex best friend and the ex f*ck buddy that she had been lying about her sister. h doesn’t correct him but tells him that he will regret what he just did and that she will never forgive him. h walks out. Two weeks later the h’s sister dies. H realizes that he was wrong and takes the h to his club when she breaks down on the street, telling her parents that she won’t grieve if she goes back home with them. They allow him to take her. h barely talks and H feels horrible that he believed the lies. H kicks the ex f*ck buddy out of the club. H is there for the h for the funeral. Later, when they talk H confess that he kissed and grope another woman a week after he kicked her out of the club. He stopped before it went any further. h upsets leaves. H finds out where she is and goes to apologize and fight for them. h tells the H she is pregnant. H asks h to give him a few months to grovel and woo her. That he will earn her trust back. She says yes. H does everything he said he would. When h is working for a different garage, the same ow that the H had sex with (the one from the bachelorette party) comes pointing a gun at her. The H shows up and when the ow points it at him the h jumps on her and the h gets shot. h gets better and finally forgives the H. HEA with them married and they have a little girl.
Final thoughts: I enjoyed the drama and definitely will read Smokey’s book. This does have some grammar errors but since I’m not great in that department it doesn’t bother me.

This book was a little strange. The writing was ok. Though this book needs a good editing. Example, using frantically instead of frankly. Also, it's set in Texas but the H called the h love and said bloody. So I'm thinking the author is British? Which is perfectly fine, but Texans don't speak that way. Story was just ok for me
I’ve read the first two in this series and they are truly awful. So much drama, twist after twist and can’t keep up. These men do not deserve a second chance never mind a third. Not well written and will def not be reading any more
Right here goes… I don’t normally write reviews I just read them lol purely because honestly I’m not good at putting words down on paper hence why I read and not write. So ok this book wrecked me, what a freaking rollercoaster of a ride!! I was crying ugly tears at one stage at 4 o clock this morning, cos yeah that’s what this book did to me kept me up reading when I should of been sleeping because I just could not put it down it was so damn addictive. But hey just imagine the scene it’s 4 o clock in the morning the house is nice and quiet with my 4 monster children and husband fast asleep only to be woken by me crying heartfelt tears, the panics sets in thinking what the hell’s going on only for me to tell him about this book that I started reading and for the life of me couldn’t put down. Let’s just say he wasn’t impressed. Annnnnd Ok now I realise I haven’t really told you much about the book because I’m just rambling on… but honestly the book was so good, addictive, heartfelt and heartbreaking! I loved the characters so much, but seriously some of those club bi***es needs to throat punched so hard. I honestly recommend this book, and definitely deserves the 5 star rating
I found the first part of this book really confusing. Its the first in the series, but it felt like we were in the middle of multiple plot arcs with WAY too many characters thrown at us at once. It finally settled in and was really good. Super angsty and emotional. Quite a bit of OW drama, but if you're a fan of substantive grovels, this is definitely the book for you! 😂😂
Sarah has a heart of gold and so strong. She works several jobs to help her parents pay off her sister Mary "The tiny Dancers" medical bills. Sarah stays so strong for everyone surrounding her to the point that she isn't living for herself.
She meets Snake aka Hunter they eventually fall in love until he does the unthinkable. He is not there when she needs him the most and accused her of something unforgivable.
I really enjoy this author’s books when I’m in the mood for a rage read. That’s because her heroes always make me want to 🔪🔪 them for at least a few chapters.
Looking forward to more from this series and seeing how they mess up their lives.
I like this author's books but they really need an editor. There are so There are so many unnecessary details And then Major points to the story are just glossed overmany.
I enjoyed this book even though I didn't like what he did and of course he wasn't the brightest believing the clubwhores over her but I was hoping for a bit of angst which I expected as usual so I wasn't shocked. It was also sad too about what happened. I enjoy the MC characters and about the club and the grovelling as usual was satisfying because she didn't take him straight back. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series because from what I've read it's going to be another rage read with some angst . Keep the books coming.

Sarah has been the anchor in her family while her sister is sick. She put her life on hold to help where she can and does not regret a moment of it. When she goes out one night she sees the man who makes her soul sing only to walk away without getting to know him. Little does she know she will see him again soon.
Snake has always been told when you see your one you will know and when he sees Sarah he realizes he made a huge mistake. Luck though is on his side when Sarah gets a job at the clubs garage. Now Snake is asking for Sarah to take a chance on him but not all are happy about Snake taking an Ol lady and do what they can to tear them apart.
What a way to start the series, Snake had to grovel for sure. I liked Sarah and felt for her, she holds a mean grudge when it comes to Snake. I like the way this story unfolds and that their romance is not perfect.
I'm sorry but I don't like reading about sad pathetic doormats.
Oh, he cheats, he touches another women and front of her. The things he said, would never be forgiven. You try to make her strong by her talking her crap.
This is abuse, red flags, he couldn't go yo the hospital, I find that hard to believe, he never spoke around doc to confirm it. She never had a conversation around doc about her sister at the club.
You make women look bad by trying to make this romance and saying women should take this abuse. I'm sorry.
This story felt detached from any depth of emotional connection or development. The grovel does not match the level of betrayal. And, lastly, there was a lot of focus on explaining everyone else’s current and past drama, which took away from the momentum of the main plot.
I thought (was hoping) this series was going to be more developed than the first (Untamed). Nope.
Each story is pretty much the same. Low EQ women at the clubhouse, lies, people jumping to conclusions, lack of communication, dysfunctional relationships and every single heroine is the best at what they do and play the martyrdom.
I started reading this then quickly realised with the dump at the beginning there was a back story. So I found the series before this one and read that. What a load of shit that series was.
Then came back to this one and it seemed a bit better. Nope.
The heroine is the highest martyr I’ve read. She’s the “hero”. Best at mechanics, best at funding her parents even though they work full time, best at having a kid heart. It’s just OTT.
The sister trope is too much. Cancer shouldn’t be entertainment and that’s what it feels like in this book- not a sad storyline but a plot to drive the absolutely wonderful best at everything sister character build.
Like the former series, all the women are characters as sluts, whites, liars and cheats. Everyone is pulling holes in condoms, every female lead falls pregnant even though on contraception, every male “forgets” and has his arm around other women causing the heroines to grow back bones and punch out the OW. It’s just too much.
Then there is the abysmal dialogue “my man” said repeatedly … 😖😖. It’s just so cringe 😬. And next to that is the pranks. Like seriously, grow the fuck up. It was bad enough in the first series but now it’s leaked into the second. It wasn’t funny in the first and it sure as shit isn’t funny in the second.
All the parents seem dysfunctional and their relationships with the children are odd. Her parents, again, the mother is the worst one, emotionally abuses her by treating the other daughter more like a daughter and her like a pay check. There are brothers with whores as mothers - yep you guessed it, poked holes in condoms. Traitors in the MC and no one trusts anyone. Worst MC ever. What happened to being about the brothers.
And don’t get me started on the hero who believed to whores who’d been kicked out of the club about her lying about her sister dying even though one of the brothers is a Dr and could easily verify without breaking confidentiality. Not once does he question the whores believing then goes from being loving to “lying c**t”. And she takes him back 🚩🚩🚩🚩.
And I can’t even with the lack of editing.
I can’t do it anymore, this author is not for me.

1.5* Unbelievably depressing, written really badly and I’m still confused about who people are.
I’ve just finished it finally. I don’t think I’ve read a more depressing book in my life, and it’s never ending, it’s all the way through the flaming book! 🥲 The characters are confusing, for example there was a doc in Axel’s Mc is that the same doc in this one? Or is it a major coincidence? If it’s the same doc are the two mc’s close together so they share a hospital? Then there’s the crazy plot again where the mmc decides that the mfc has betrayed him, and IT’S SO STUPID I NEARLY GAVE IN AND DIDN’T FINISH IT. See spoilers ⬇️ The writing as usual is terrible, with loads of spelling mistakes and wrong words used.
When Snake and Sarah first meet she’s on a hen party in the mc’s strip club. He’s just had sex with bride to be when he sees Sarah, and realises she’s his. Sarah quite rightly is disgusted. Eventually they do get together but they’re both afraid of relationships so when Snake listens to a woman about Sarah she doesn’t do anything to prove him wrong. They don’t fight for each other and I’m sorry but Snake isn’t rushing to prove that she’s innocent! Personally I think she shouldn’t forgive him, but of course she does. I just didn’t buy into their relationship’, at all.
So as usual the club are having sex everywhere and in front of the children!! 😱😱😱 Snake who is the president doesn’t do anything about it though. Sorry but that’s disgusting. I’m jog a prude but I don’t want to read about Snake having sex with other women, and I hated him calling all women bit*hes.
Parts of it I did enjoy but I’m not ever reading it again.
Sarah’s sister Mary who is ten years younger than her gets leukaemia when she’s 7. Then gets it back at 15, and dies from it. The whole book is about Mary’s leukaemia and Sarah puts her whole life on hold to help financially. I couldn’t stop crying through the whole book. One of Snakes previous sexual partners tells him that Sarah lied about her sister having cancer. So instead of finding out for himself he believes her instead of Sarah. WHY???? It’s just stupid!
The book in my opinion was OK really, from the 70% mark of the book it was good the story was there and it kept me entertained and I won't lie I'm a sucker for the inst love kind of feeling but there were the defiant cons of the book the one example was the dieing sister I don't really like that kind of thing in the books I read but I also understood why it was in th story line just not for me. Two how the hell can the supposed H of the story believe such a stupid lie about the h sister not actually being sick like even the parents said she was whils the amount of money she had to work to gain for her sister like bro for real ,and when she came to you that she was dieing you were horrible to here when she was clearly hurt and that on top of that she would cut herself just to convince him he took her Virginity like bro what the fuck. Whilst a lot of people in his club were giving her dirt looks and think the same bad thoughts of her as him. That's just stupid and especially how she just brushed it under the rugg when she came back. I'm telling you, if that was me, I would have cursed out that entire club. Third of all, his grovelling was not up to par to what he did to her like I would have dragged him through the mud so much just to feel that same pain he did her like how can the pres be so stupid. That 30% of the book really put me through the ringer. I would have atlas done a time skip of a few years after here sister funeral with the h going off and finding herself without her responsibility holding her down now anymore to really make the H realise his actions especially how she said she would never forgive him but still did and so easily at that like girl what he said was horrible. That would have made the H supposed grovelling a bit better in my opinion.(but not my book so potato potatoe) I skimmed the final pages and it was OK 3 stars are all I would give it mabey a lenient 4.
This book was a complete joke, and the absurdity of it all was hard to ignore.
Let’s start with the hero (H) – a French-trained chef who is also the president of an MC? Really? I couldn’t suspend my disbelief long enough to get past that. And then, we learn that he survived cancer as a child, but it seems his brain didn’t make it through the experience. He actually believes an unknown person over his girlfriend – someone he’s met her parents and knows one of her brothers is a doctor – yet he chooses to trust someone else? That was just baffling and felt completely unrealistic.
Then there’s the heroine (h), who’s a mechanic (eye roll), brainy, and the quintessential "good girl." We've seen this trope a million times, and it doesn’t add anything fresh here. Her entire character revolves around self-sacrifice, with her parents remaining oblivious to everything. Her emotional journey felt over-the-top, especially when dealing with the topic of teen cancer. Instead of diving into the weight of such a serious issue, the narrative seems to focus more on her behavior than her internal struggle. Despite all the grand gestures, declarations, and a breakup with H, she ultimately goes back to him anyway. It just didn't add up.
The whole subplot with the dying sister calling him and unloading emotional baggage was also awkward. It didn’t feel earned or particularly moving, just another unnecessary plot device.
To be honest, I didn’t like either the hero or the heroine, and I didn’t feel any chemistry between them. I know I might be in the minority here, but nothing about this book really connected with me. It was hard to get invested in any of it.
MC romance, OW drama. This is book one for this series. I’ve read a lot of her books and they can be read out of order because she does a great job of giving you enough information about the characters for you to not feel like you’re missing something. The main characters meet for the first time a couple of years ago, but the MMC ends up doing something that the FMC just can’t overlook. Fast forward a couple years and she ends up getting a job within one of the businesses the motorcycle club owns and that’s when he sees her again and makes the decision to tell her that he is going to make her his. The FMC is really going through a lot with her family, which plays a role in how their relationship progresses. The MMC has also had some things in his past and has some trust issues, so when the other women in the book, and yes there’s more than one, conspire to go against the FMC and tell the MMC some things, he ends up believing them and hurts the FMC in the process. So he does need to grovel, and for me, I wish there would’ve been a little bit more written about that. We as the reader know there is some groveling that is happening, but it’s more off page and I just wish that there would’ve been more on page. but overall, this is typical Charlotte McGinlay writing. There are some errors in the book, but I’ve come to expect that with her books and I overlook it because I do like the very raw and gritty way that she writes her motorcycle club romances so I am OK with that stuff and plan to read the series and also recommend this book.

Idk how I read this. The sheer amount of spelling errors was absolutely WILD. Who edited this?? Was it like when I would wrote a paper for a random elective class last minute and refused to go back and edit because I just didn’t care about the score?? That’s how it felt. Calling the MMC boldy instead of baldy numerous, numerous times it was grating. Clocking a gun also?? Not a thing and those were just two instances. I have no idea how it has the rating it does right now. It must be for the FMC’s sister because she was the only light throughout the whole story.
I love a good grovel don’t get me wrong, but the way it was all written was mind boggling. The level of women who apparently have zero sense of independence or a shred of dignity that they ALL fall all over themselves for the MMC and see all other women as competition. It was so wattpad coded (which I used to be a wattpad girlie so no offense to it, but it felt like something someone wrote after they watched an episode of sons of anarchy and stream of consciousness wrote a story).
The only reason I have contemplated reading any of the other books in the series is for some of the side characters redeeming themselves and giving some good grovel to satisfy the bloodthirsty reader in me who loves to see a man beg for forgiveness lmao.
We’ll see on that though. There’s a reason I read it in a day and it wasn’t for the high quality content. It was to get to the profusely given apologies and the sister of the FMC.
Snake & Sarah: (triggers: cancer, child abandonment, "friends?" (You'll get my meaning)). So this book follows an MC president that was given the mantle after his dad was ready to retire so to speak. But so after he's made President of the club, his own VP and so called Best Friend started a coup to try to take over the club. Here's where my first issue takes place. The author only mentions the coup but does so several times and a lot of the trust issues are based around that event but we never see the event happen. I think it would have been more impactful to the readers would've been to include that backhanded event so we can't get more feeling out of how the characters felt during that time. There was a lot of time jumping and memory jumping for me. I get that she's showing the path for both the characters but there were so many and most of them were unnecessary. Now Sarah, she's the star. This girl has been through it and let me tell you I've dealt with what she does through at the beginning of the book and let me tell you she's better than me. She's unbelievably strong and does everything for her family. Now this book gives you just about everything you want in an MC romance but it will get a bit angtsy as well so make sure you have a box of tissues. Because you will be sobbing. There are some funny moments, and some moments that will make you want fight but the book is so good. It'll take you for a ride.
Cheating = nuzzling up to OW and kissing her neck in front of h, intentionally
h sees H with OW = see above; also in the beginning, h sees H right after a dirty lay with OW in bathroom hallway.
OW drama = multiple OWs; former bff of h, CWs, former acquaintance who was the dirty lay chick turned CW (intentionally went after H after she saw h looking at him, H tried to go after h when he was done with dirty lay, but she just looked at him, shook her head and nodded to dirty lay, basically implying, nope not gonna happen after you just dipped that wick)
Grovel = poor little H was insecure and OWs played upon that insecurity to convince H that h was lying. H proceeds to verbally eviserate the h while cozying up to h's former bff, see cheating above. H has to grovel a few months, but eventually h forgives
Was the grovel great? Meh, not really and the tired trope of a crisis (death of family member, h getting shot) accelerates the forgiveness.
Still a good read, but it feels a bit vanilla compared to the author's other MC series; a bit like she's cutting back on the OTT soapy drama of it all which I read eagerly and with such glee. Ah well, still an author I will read immediately when the books are released.
