*3.5* A decent balance of story and smut until around the 60% mark. I’m not sure what happened, but the story seriously faltered. As soon as the two other men were introduced to the story, it was much more focused on sex than relationships and character development. Which is a huge shame, because the first half of the book was so well done!

Omegaverse contemporary
Reverse harem
Found family
20 yr age gap/older men
Sex toy shop owners
Primal kink
One dimensional exes
No MM

The last 10% of the book wraps up all of the drama in a nice tidy bow. Really cute two years later epilogue.

4 Love Has A Way of Making You Better Stars ⭐

This was as filthy as the cover and title alludes to but also sweetly romantic. It was certainly a salute to the importance of self love. 🫶

One thing about me is I’m always going to love myself, because I’ve spent way too long waiting for someone else to feel the same.

Daria may be an Omega but there is nothing pampered about her. Instead, she's a struggling young woman trying not to be evicted from her apartment while working her ass off for a promotion. Which is how she finds herself at a sex club doing research for her next pitch.

“Sit on my face, Daria.”
“What?”
“Don’t be shy now.” He adds another finger. “Let me clean you properly.” Biting my lip, I study him. He simply lifts his eyebrows in challenge and continues to tease me with his fingers, waiting for me to acquiesce. There’s really not a reason to say no. He’s offering me a throne.
Why wouldn’t I take it?

We first meet Vic in all his tattooed glory, and what an impression he makes. Plus he fucks like a God, so there's that. Yet this one time hookup between Daria and Vic is clearly fated. Too bad Pack Kelly who Vic technically belongs to is in shambles.

Getting to the point, Daria is reluctant to pursue what her heart wants but how can she resist Vic and his packmates Linc and Kai when they are scent mates. It's impossible, especially because these men desperately want her and aim to woo her with lots and lots of orgasms!

I think Daria was a great character. She painted herself as being too much, but fortunately she wasn't obnoxious, just bratty in small doses which was perfect. Mark & Don't Tell was really exciting to read initially (gritty and dirty) until it became a little too sugary. This was a really good Omegaverse romance without sword crossing and lots of steam!

Daria and her pack seriously get all my love 😍. Daria has the biggest heart ever and deserves all the best things.

Her pack … Vic, Kai and Link are all cinnamon rolls and it was great to see their pack come back together after the heartbreak of the past.

This is giving cartoon cover vibes

Let's all stop pretending that covers don't matter. In this saturated market, they're the first indicator of genre and while we don't judge a book by it, we definitely use them to get a first impression of what we might get.

The cover is giving dark.

The content is giving 2010 girl boss, 'how to lose a guy in ten days' style rom-com but instead of fake dating it's 'boss sent me to a sex club'.

Some angst is supposed to happen later in the story, but I don't believe it'll get the contemporary-with-picture cover stink out of it.

One more on the avoid list ❌

Daria was a great FMC. I was won over by this line:

“My scent is my security blanket. It’s part of who I am. A little too much, a little too loud. Intense. Beautiful. Alluring.

Okay. Maybe I’m the only one who thinks the last three, but if you don’t love yourself, who will?”

😂

Her scent matches turned out to be her cheating ex-boyfriend’s dads, but the story was surprisingly sweeter and not as taboo as I expected.

I lost steam in the second half though, and started to skim the spicy scenes, but full disclosure: I’m doing that with a lot of recent books so that might be a me thing!

I gave this one 3 stars because I really wasn’t sure how to rate it. If you’re looking for a story that is well written but also more sex than plot, this one is for you. Unfortunately, I would have preferred more attention to the plot and relationship development over having that many sex scenes. I pretty much skipped through them to be honest. The story itself had a lot of potential, I enjoyed the overall concept and the plot (when it happened), but there was so much setup with various conflicts and then the author just resolved them all in the last 10 percent of the story with verrrrry low effort one right after the other.

The vast majority of the word count for this book is used for the various sex scenes. Again, nothing wrong with that if it’s what you’re looking for, I just didn’t find them to be particularly interesting to read especially without any tension or build up. Anytime a relationship conflict pops up it’s resolved with a sex scene. Also, I was annoyed by how long the characters withheld information from others. It happened a few times throughout the story both amongst the main characters as well as between them and their friends/family and it just felt very immature to me.

The angst and drama were a bit high in this one for me. It took a bunch of trip s and threw them all together. RH, OV, bos, billuoanaire, age gap, taboo (ex's dads), abusive parent, fated mates. It felt like we could have had maybe three of those and still have a good story.

Sweet storyline
This story follows Daria whose all but given up on finding her pack after a series of failed relations but most significantly her last pack cheating on her 😢 she’s an omega whose desperate to find her fated mates but is coming to the realisation it may never happen 😖
However a chance encounter at a smeggsy club offers her the opportunity to claim a beta who fulfills all her desires and he himself has become captivated with our girl - he is absolutely all in to an obsessive level 🥰! As their story progresses you begin to get snippets of their pasts, Daria’s fears come from an abusive mother and Vic from a neglectful omega - you really feel for them! Then a work project throws things completely off kilter when Daria releases she’s found her scent matches 😮 I really liked the twist there and how that comes together! Lincoln our soft alpha has some serious familial issues but he’s always there for Daria no matter what, and Kai is the carer for all of them making sure they each have their happiness! There’s quite a lot of drama coming from their families rather than outside forces in this one which brings something different to the storyline 😄 thankfully they realise that they can create their own family and HEA!

This was hot from the start. This could have been filled with external drama and angst but it was not. Instead we get the story of an Omega that has been given the shit end of the stick all her life finding her happiness. She learns to accept the support and love she deserves in the form of two Alphas and one Beta that have so much love and care to give. Their road to their HEA isn't entirely smooth, but the maturity of these characters ensures that all the bumps are faced as a team and handled quickly.

3.5 Stars, rounded up

Definitely one of the better omegaverse novels I’ve read. It’s a fast burn with the relationships though. Smut was also well done which is always tricky, so kudos to the author.

A few things just felt a little lacking to me, however, and it’s mainly some of the plot lines. The whole Marco+Daria’s mom and then the Ryan+Felicia plots and characters just felt really one dimensional and cartoonishly evil. I wish that there had been a bit more depth to it and the characters.

I am also very salty that Daria’s work didn’t become a focal point. She claims to value her independence and she basically just settles for “well my mates are rich I don’t have to worry anymore.” Now there’s nothing wrong with that, except that it just goes against Daria as a character. I wish we’d seen some sort of growth career-wise where she realized that she can still have some of that independence. But idk, if you like the white knight thing then you’ll like this.

Finally, as a note, the whole “my ex-boyfriend’s dads” thing was a really minimal piece of the plot. It was truly only relevant to like 5% of the story and I’m annoyed that the author chose that as a selling point of this story when it wasn’t a big deal at all. Feels a bit deceptive to me and I’m not a fan.

Plentiful open-door explicit scenes, primal play, group activities, no M/M (but the guys aren’t afraid of the normal mishaps that come with group stuff). CW: physical violence, body image issues, small threat of SA, mentions of past bad relationship behavior

DNF @65% - This seems to be the turning point for a lot of people, and I can see why. After an excellent first quarter and an ok first half, things just fizzled out.

I love Daria's confidence. I love Vic's insecurities. Honestly I wish the book was just about them. Vic's other packmates are thoroughly forgettable and completely interchangeable, to the point I keep getting them confused with each other.

The book is really missing some key "getting to know you" scenes. I don't get any sense of chemistry between the alphas and Daria. As a result, the sex feels completely emotionless.

The strongest scenes were with Daria's brother and mother, to the point I was actually struggling to accept Daria having any sort of good time with her pack while I knew her brother was in such a dangerous situation. She's there buying snacks and having sex while her brother is being abused. It's stressing me out.

I also really enjoyed the setup with her marketing role, and was subsequently disappointed with how that petered out as well.

I really wanted to enjoy this. It started so well!

I absolutely adore this storyline, it’s so beautifully written with such detail and emotion.
Daria’s traumatic childhood and family situation at the beginning is quite tragic , adding to that her Omega half brother’s serious neglect it was very moving and honestly heart breaking.
The Kelly pack are a great mix of personalities, I loved their banter with Daria and their possessiveness. They have some serious omega heat steamy scenes which were hot AF.
The suspenseful element to the storyline was intriguing, I honestly couldn’t put this book down until the very last word - loved that ending, perfect!

Wow, this was absolutely fantastic.
After listening to Quinn's story i couldn't wait to get hold of Daria's!
Daria has been wanting a pack for so long but getting nothing but duds until she goes to an event and meets Vic.
I love each of them differently but Vic is just something else. I'm normally always all for the alphas and don't get me wrong Kai and Linc are a very close like 0.1 joint second but Vic my beta stole my heart.
I love the instant connection she had with them it helps they was her scent matches but the way these guys stepped up and became everything she needed has me in a puddle.
I'm hoping we get more from this world!

𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒚:
Daria is a young 20-something Omega, who has had a few set-backs in her love life. She has gone through the ringer in her last pack and is still hopeful of finding her fated-mates. She works at a marketing agency as junior staff and gets the opportunity to go to a sex club to get a better handle on her client's sex toy company. There, she meets an older man who she feels an instant attraction and connection to. But old, unresolved problems of the past creep back up in Daria's life - just when she finds love and her long-awaited happiness is put in jeopardy.

𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘:
Mark & Don't Tell started out strong - we have Daria who is a spunky, outspoken & confident omega who has had both a rough childhood and a few shitty relationships under her belt. She's a bit jaded with life and just wants to find her scent match mates.

When she meets Vicente in the sex club, their connection was on fire and I did enjoy reading about their cat and mouse beginnings, but as the other two mates were introduced, they didn't seem very fleshed out for me and their relationship to Daria kind of felt forced.

The world-building was non-existent. We don't know any of the rules or customs of this Omegaverse and the Alpha's didn't really feel like your typical Alphas - they were basically cinnamon rolls.

We also have a lot going on with Daria's mother and brother. Her mother seems to have had a pack with Daria's 3 fathers, but she had an affair and ended up leaving with Daria. Her mother raises her while her father's are out of the picture? I am not entirely sure because she was being mentally and physically abused by her mom but her dad's don't appear to know that or they didn't do anything about it. I felt like this part of her history is very vague and you never get any clarity on it, so it kind of felt irrelevant to include in the story.

This brings me onto her half-brother, Marco, who is a 14 year old Omega. He lives with Daria's mother and appears to be getting abused by her as well, except this time their mother is doing hard drugs and sleeping with whoever can give her her next fix. She ends up trying to sell her son to some drug dealer as payment.

The whole time Daria laments about how she can't do anything about her brother's situation because she only has one bedroom. Meanwhile, her fathers live in a mansion and are loaded. She could easily ask them to help her out with a bigger apartment and she could take her brother out of the situation but she is too busy being a martyr to her cause to help him.

To be honest, Daria's lack of proactiveness and care for her brother bugged me throughout this story. She does end up "saving" him toward the end of the book but still worries that her pack won't allow him to stay with them or they might end up dumping her because of it. Rather than be worried about her brother's safety, she was more worried about herself.

Then we have the antagonist of the story - Ryan - Daria's ex Alpha boyfriend. Ryan also happens to be the son of her new mate Lincoln. The drama that ensues from this is very minimal and to be honest, the reader doesn't get much insight into her relationship with Ryan. We are told that he was a dick to her during sex and cheated but that is it. We get no flashbacks to help us understand her problems with him and his pack.

The book is smut heavy and sex is used as a form of emotional bonding as this is all Daria knows. She had a really rough childhood with DV and so she knows nothing else. Her mates compound this by trying to resolve her issues through sex to convince her of her worth and how they feel about her.

𝑽𝒆𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒕:
Overall, I think this book had the potential to be a great Omegaverse read but ultimately failed in the plot, the relaitonships and the overall message it was trying to convey.

This is how I pictured Vic and I suggest reading with this visual as it makes the whole book that much more erm... stimulating.

*Lower audio score because I just don't care at all for Bridget Bordeaux's narration. Otherwise the multi cast audio would've gotten a 5/5.

- No real depth or character development
- When she was in heat, she acted like a caveman. With like a single word statements and grunts and growls. I found it to be really weird.
- I really couldn't distinguish between the two alphas. Vic acted more alpha than them. But also found it annoying that he always banged Daria while wearing the knot ring.

Okay so I don’t read a lot of Omegaverse, but when Rory Miles writes it, I am right there ready to read it.

This was SO good!! I loved it. These characters were fun, had heart, leaned into their vulnerability and gave me all the feels.

Daria just wants her HEA. A pack that will choose her. Love her. Accept her. She’s had a rough go with previous packs but refuses to give up on finding love.
Pack Kelly is also struggling, they are working through some stuff and it’s straining their connection.

Daria & Vic meet first and HOT DAMN y’all.. all I’ll say is if you like “cat & mouse” you will love them.
When she meets Kai and Linc shortly after, it all comes together and i couldn’t put it down!

The flow of writing, the plot, the banter, the spice. It all just hit right !

Another good book in this universe, where the FMC is not the stereotypical omega, quite the contrary. It was an interesting journey for Diana even though I did find some things a bit odd. Overall, the gentlemen here were all in despite the unconventional situation they have found themselves in.

This book was well crafted. The plot was slightly lacking in the second half, however it was an easy read that kept you engaged.

The audiobook narrators brought this book to life, as they have such a talent for changing their inflections for different characters and changing the tone of the book based on the situation.

For being marketed as a exbfs dad romance there was really very little reward for the trope. Most of the plot in terms of that trope was negative none of the forbiddenness of it. If anything it was more taboo because Vic is her step uncle. Anyway there were good elements in here but overall it was very meh the spice scenes were extremely similar overall and i wish there had been more like *courting* idk

I devoured this in one sitting! Daria is an Omega working very hard to love herself and overcome her insecurities. Her men are so sweet to her. They are much older than Daria, but who doesn't love a silver fox or two? This was a fun book, with some family drama mixed in. Parts of it made me laugh out loud, and others made me tense, waiting to see what would happen. I do hope Marco will get a book in the future. I think he ended up my favorite character in the end. The spice was 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶.
