Ryanair has added an extra flight day to a route between Scotland and Spain.

Starting on April 1, flights on the budget airline's route between Aberdeen and Málaga will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Málaga–Costa del Sol Airport is the fourth busiest airport in Spain after Madrid–Barajas, Barcelona–El Prat and Palma de Mallorca.

The airport is significant for Spanish tourism as the main international airport serving the Costa del Sol, which includes the cities of Málaga and Marbella as well as towns such as Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola.

This summer will also see Ryanair launch a new direct route from Aberdeen to Krakow.

The twice-weekly service, which commences on April 2, will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
