Charlotte Country Day girls cross country wins 4A title; Covenant Day's Caitlin Kasten wins individual

After finishing runner-up a year ago, it was Charlotte Country Day's turn to be on top. The Buccaneers won the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 4A girls cross country championship on Friday at WakeMed Park in Cary.

The Bucs scored 79 points and edged Charlotte Latin by seven points despite not having anyone in the top 10.

Caitlin Kasten of Covenant Day, who finished third a year ago, won the individual title by almost 30 seconds (17:38.1).
