Garinger's Diego Silva named NC Soccer Coaches' POTY; 2 make All-American, 10 make all-Mid-Atlantic

Three players from the NCSCA's all-state team were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-American team: Chapel Hill's Gabby Ciocca, Hough's Kylee Thompson, and McElroy.

Garinger senior midfielder Diego Silva was named state player of the year by the N.C. Soccer Coaches Association, headlining the first of three sets of postseason honors in which the N.C. Soccer Coaches Association is involved.

Silva scored 39 goals and had 12 assists for the Wildcats.

Two players from the NCSCA's all-state team were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-American team: Silva and Holly Springs' Sean O'Laughlin.

In addition, eight more players made the United Soccer Coaches' All-Mid-Atlantic region team.

They were: First Flight's Wyatt Davies, Ragsdale's Ethan Lam, Wakefield's Brooks Vice, Western Alamance's Noah Barrett, Clinton's Griffin Williams Charlotte Latin's Parker Rubinacci, Wesleyan Christian's Sean Jacobs, and Charlotte County Day's Philip Preslar.

All of these players made the HSOT All-State team last week.
