- Life After Guantanamo looks at the lives of men who have been released and returned from Guantanamo and other black site prisons used in the US War on Terror. The film attempts to find out what long lasting effects and trauma are faced by those who faced the use of 'enhanced interrogation techniques'. The film starts off by meeting Ruhal Ahmed, one of the Tipton 3 from Tipton near Birmingham who spent 2 years in Guantanamo after being picked up in Afghanistan and handed over to US forces. Ruhal describes his time in Guantanamo, the torture that he faced and goes on to describe what it was like coming home and trying to rebuild a normal life. Then, Omar Deghayers from Brighton in the UK describes his incarceration at the famous military base and how it has left him with deep physical and emotional scars. To gain a better understanding, Will Francome, the films director (narrating) then goes to America to meet with Donald Vance, a US Marine who was mistakenly placed in Baghram Air Base and tortured for 8 months and also experts like psychologist Steven Reisner. The film also interviews Chloe Davies and Cori Crider, from British charity, Reprieve.
