A sequel called "Chicken Little 2: The Ugly Duckling Story" was in production when John Lasseter was appointed Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios. His first task was to cancel all sequels.
The second fully computer generated theatrical movie produced in-house by Disney, rather than being hand-drawn, the first one being Dinosaurier (2000). This would be the new style for every Disney animated theatrical movie afterwards, apart from Küss den Frosch (2009) and Winnie Puuh (2011).
Editor Dan Molina performed the "voice" of Fish Out of Water by vocalizing through a tube into a water cooler tank full of water.
Holly Hunter was never considered for Abby Mallard, she was the original voice of Chicken Little. she recorded all of her lines, but was replaced by Zach Braff when the studio decided to make the character a male.
