Lee Van Cleef was truly one of the greatest stars of his era, with a filmography that included some of the best Western movies of all time. With over 170 film and television roles, Van Cleef was particularly known for his leading and supporting roles in acclaimed spaghetti Westerns and his performances opposite stars like Gary Cooper, John Wayne, and Clint Eastwood. With a talent for playing no-nonsense tough guy bandits, Van Cleef had a sinister screen presence that made him a truly compelling villain.

Sons of Anarchy introduced the audience to the Samcro motorcycle club, which has different designations and ranks for its members. Created by Kurt Sutter, Sons of Anarchy follows Jackson Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam), VP of the motorcycle club Sons of Anarchy in the fictional town of Charming, in California. The events of the series are kickstarted when Jax finds a manifesto written by his late father, John, one of the founding members of the club, in which he shares his vision and plans, which leads Jax to question the clubs path and history, his relationships, family, and himself.
Each character on Sons of Anarchy is involved with the club in some capacity but only the members of Samcro (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original) hold legitimate ranks. Flashback to a time when Dwayne Johnson was still crossing over from the WWE to major Hollywood films. He was still being billed as “The Rock.” His physique was more muscular than monstrous. Fans and general audiences were finding out that his charismatic mic skills could transfer to fun, charismatic characters on screen. Johnson only had a couple of prior credits with The Mummy Returns and the spin-off The Scorpion King before he made the action comedy The Rundown from director Peter Berg.
2003’s The Rundown was Johnson’s sophomore starring effort and it would lay the groundwork for one of the biggest names in blockbuster movies for a number of years. Now, Kino Lorber will be releasing a new 4K Blu-ray of the film, which co-stars Sean William Scott, Rosario Dawson, Christopher Walken and Ewen Bremner. This new physical media release is expected to hit retailers sometime later this year.

The following contains spoilers for all seven seasons of Sons of Anarchy.
Airing on FX from September 2008 through December 2014, Sons of Anarchy is a series that may not have left as big a cultural impact as comparable properties from that time period. However, with a full 10 years now separating viewers from the beautifully tragic end of Samcro's story, it's as good a time as any to strap on your helmet, dust off your cut, sew on your patch and revisit this gripping biker drama.
Sons of Anarchy centers on the eponymous Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club's flagship Redwood Originals charter, based in the fictional California town of Charming. The seven-season story is told from the perspective of Charlie Hunnam's Jackson "Jax" Teller, who can simultaneously be the most enjoyable and most frustrating part of the series. Because "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" was set in such a politically fraught universe, it was always eager to tackle difficult stories about moral ambiguity. The title space station is located near the planet Bajor, which had been, up until recently, militarily occupied by the Cardassians, a fascistic species devoted to military strength and Bajoran extermination. "Deep Space Nine" takes place right as the Cardassian occupation had ended and witnessed Bajor entering into a long and tricky restoration phase. A lot of "Deep Space Nine" was about the rising corrupt Bajoran theocracy that was elbowing their way into the power vacuum.
Major Kira (Nana Visitor) was the Bajoran first officer on board DS9, and she spent the show learning to live with her military past. During the occupation, Kira took many, many Cardassian lives as a member of the Bajoran Resistance. As one might expect, she was deeply wounded and...

Where to Watch Powered by "River Wild" is a new take on the 1994 film, not a remake or reboot, according to the team behind the production. It is a standalone sequel set in the "universe" of the original. The 2023 version of "River Wild" introduces original characters and a new setting in Hungary, differing from the 1994 film's Idaho setting and characters. The new film focuses on the inner dynamics and tensions of a group of siblings and their childhood friend, creating a more intimate and gritty story set in an exciting river adventure.
The 2023 iteration of River Wild changes up the formula of the 1994 Meryl Streep classic, but it's not quite a remake. The original, underrated adventure-meets-thriller film is remembered well as a box-office hit. The movie chronicles the white-water rafting trip of the Hartman family, which turns from an exciting chance to bond into a truly terrifying ordeal. The River Wild...

The Sons of Anarchy motorcycle club went through a lot of changes in its hierarchy throughout the Sons of Anarchy TV series, and here’s every President the club has had so far. Sons of Anarchy took the audience into the world of motorcycle clubs by following the title Mc in the fictional town of Charming, California. Led by the club’s VP at the beginning of the series, Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam), Sons of Anarchy saw the club and its members go through hell and back not just in their personal lives but also within the club, and many of the problems they got involved in (and many of the show’s most tragic moments) were due to the bad decisions of the club’s President at that moment.

Over the course of seven seasons, Sons of Anarchy saw the title club having two different Presidents, but as the series explored the history of Samcro more and more, one big question arose: why was Piney never President of the club? Sons of Anarchy took viewers to the fictional town of Charming, California, to immerse themselves into the world of motorcycle clubs. Leading Sons of Anarchy was Jackson “Jax” Teller (Charlie Hunnam), VP of the club at the beginning of the series and the son of John “Jt” Teller, one of the club’s founding members.

While director Peter Berg's 2003 action-thriller The Rundown wasn't a blockbuster by any means, taking in just over $80 million worldwide, the movie has gained quite a following over the past 10 years. Spoilers'Sons of Anarchy' episode 'Laying Pipe' sees our Samcro boys Opie, Tig, Chibs and Jax go to prison, but only three leave lock down. The death of Opie was so intensely brutal, deliberate and psychologically damaging for Jax and his crew, that many journalists will be on a conference call with Kurt Sutter today in a quasi grief counseling session to ask questions as we grapple with all that Ryan Hurst had to handle on the series. Opie's reign as the strong silent type endured Christ-like suffering, beginning with his wife's murder (Tig on Clay's orders) and then his dad Piney (William Lucking) killed in cold blood by Clay. Even his mother is named Mary.Every resultant action and horrific end...

Sons of Anarchy Season 5, Episode 1: “Sovereign“
Written by Kurt Sutter
Directed by Paris Barclay
Airs Tuesdays at 10pm Et on FX
Jax (Charlie Hunnam) is at the gavel, vendettas are all around Samcro, the Niners are under the cold, hard reign of promising new villain Damon Pope (Harold Perrineau), and there’s a new pimp on the block, “companionator” Nero Padilla (Jimmy Smits), double starring as Gemma‘s (Katey Sagal) momentary lover and brothel runner to lighten up the cruelty of the drama.
Kurt Sutter‘s fifth season of Sons of Anarchy starts off with the familiar ingredients of what has made this show stand out in the past- throwing its strong characters into the utmost of cruel situations and difficult emotional dilemmas, paving the way for a deeply thought-out journey of character development. The season opener appears to have Sutter bringing his series back to the second season‘s brilliance,...

We’ve had nearly a year to breath since the fated shot heard round Samcro. Clay (Ron Perlman) took the life of another member of the Redwood Original 9 in Sons of Anarchy Episode 4.8 (read the Samcro Obituary).
The Soa webisphere cried in outrage, calling for Clay’s death – at the hands of Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and/or Opie (Ryan Hurst). Alas, we don’t hold the gavel. The weight (and burden) of that honor falls on the shoulders of showrunner Kurt Sutter. And, he ruled that Clay would live. But, there would be consequences.
Sons of Anarchy Season 5 began in an ostensibly new direction. Jax now officially rides at the head of the pack, with his Sergeant-at-arms, Chibs (Tommy Flanagan), by his side. Clay, “broken” but not out, looms in the periphery. He’s hunched over and unable to ride. However, don’t call him the new Piney (William Lucking). If you did,...

Sons of Anarchy came back to primetime last night with a season five premiere that promised that even though level-headed Jax is now in control of the Sons, things will not be calming down anytime soon for the besieged biker gang.
Spoiler warning – don't read on if you haven't watched last night's premiere yet.
I came around slowly as a Sons of Anarchy fan, with my husband becoming a fan long before me. Slowly, Charlie Hunnam's subtle, soulful performance as the tortured, reticent Jackson Teller sucked me in. But I've never fully embraced the uber-violence often displayed on the gritty motorcycle drama, and though I thought nothing could top last season's nightmare-inducing shiv-in-the-ear prison murder, they outdid themselves in a plotline that had me once again covering my eyes in horror.

“I’m loving Season 5,” actor Ron Perlman told us, with regard to the upcoming season of Sons of Anarchy.
In this interview with Perlman, the actor takes us through Clay Morrow’s downward spiral. Although his club, his wife and his health have been “ripped” from him, fans shouldn’t count Clay out of the picture. Perlman let us know that Clay will be working out what he “intends to do” about his various losses from Season 4 in the coming episodes.
“It’s probably the most fun season of all for me,” Perlman said. He’s playing the exact same character, but now he’s lost all of his lifelines. Could this mean we can expect a more strategic, cutthroat Clay in seasons five through six? It’s hard to imagine a more devious Clay after everything that happened in the first four seasons. Starting with Donna and moving forward...

Interview: Sons of Anarchy Star Ryan Hurst Discusses the Emotional Side of Opie Riding into Season 5
Opie (Ryan Hurst) has always been one of the most tortured characters on Sons of Anarchy.
First Opie lost Donna, a loss that drove him deeper into the Samcro lifestyle. Eventually, Opie came back from his emotional grotto, got married and was well on his way to becoming the next Samcro VP, in the event that Jax (Charlie Hunnam) stepped up to take the gavel.
Then, one of the saddest moments on Sons of Anarchy kicked happiness in the face. Piney (William Lucking) was killed by Clay (Ron Perlman) in Season 4. It was the shotgun blast heard round the world.
Editor’S Pick: Samcro Obituary and the Future of the Club
It was hard enough for Opie to learn that his porn star wife was taking birth control pills, but nothing could quite prepare him to seeing his father shot dead – alone. Nothing could prepare the fans either. If learning...

Sons of Anarchy comes back to FX for Season 5. Three weeks have passed. A new leader sits at the head of the table. The One-Niners have an unsettled score with Samcro after Tig (Kim Coates) killed Laroy’s girlfriend, Damon Pope’s daughter. Expect shit to hit the fan.
At Comic Con, FX screened the first seven minutes of Season 5, and it foreshadowed a tumultuous future for Samcro. From here on there are several Spoilers as we go into the first few minutes – so consider yourself warned.
Season 5 opens up with Jax (Charlie Hunnam) riding at night. There are three bikes behind him, but it’s difficult to discern who else is riding. In the distance, you can see the faint outline of a truck. It looks like the Sons are out on either a guns or drug run. Right away, showrunner Kurt Sutter has established Jax as the new leader.

Chicago – One way to craft an unforgettable, undeniably adept film is to make a new one. Hollywood views that as financially risky, though, and it often doesn’t happen without being based on a book with a built-in audience or a film that’s already an international box-office success.
Rating: 2.5/5.0
Just like the Swedish smash hit “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” was recently remade for U.S. audiences by David Fincher of “The Social Network” fame, producer and star Mark Wahlberg found financial worth – and he’d sell you on artistic, too – in the international remake route. He’s hoping he’d earn U.S. assurance from what recently worked in Iceland.
While U.S. audiences were well aware of Fincher’s hijacking from Sweden, “Contraband” being a U.S. remake of Iceland’s “Reykjavík-Rotterdam” is lesser known. That film most Americans can’t pronounce is one of the...

Kurt Sutter had said there was just too much story to cram into a simple one-hour finale for the epic fourth season of Sons of Anarchy. With ‘To Be (Act 1)’, co-written and directed by Sutter, fans can expect to find out why.
With the sheer amount of manipulation, half-truths and flat-out lies floating around the inner confines of the Sons of Anarchy, it’s a wonder the motorcycle club is capable of running a garage, let alone take part in an astronomical amount of illegal dealings.
But, like any hotbed of Shakespearean deceit, Samcro may finally be ready to implode.

Whoa. If you watched Sons of Anarchy Episode 4.12, “Burnt and Purged Away”, you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you haven’t watched the episode yet, you need to “check yourself”, watch it (twice if need be) and then come back for the discussion. I speculated in the past that Opie (Ryan Hurst) and Jax (Charlie Hunnam) would team up to tag-team kill Clay (Ron Perlman). The theory is still holding up, just with a slightly different twist than expected. At the end of episode 11, “Call of Duty“, Opie finally learned that his father was killed. Thanks to Unser (Dayton Callie), Opie also learned that it was Clay who killed Piney (William Lucking). Obituary For Piney In “Burnt and Purged Away”, Opie confronted Gemma (Katey Sagal) regarding her facial bruises. Although he was led to believe that Gemma had his best interest in mind by Unser, Opie doubted...

Sons of Anarchy‘s breakneck fourth season continues this Tuesday (FX, 10/9c) with perpetually downtrodden Opie featured prominently due to the untimely (and unseemly) death of his father. How will he cope with the knowledge of who killed Piney? Should retaliation be expected? Is Opie’s friendship with Jax now but a distant memory? Ryan Hurst spoke with TVLine about what lies ahead for his conflicted Son as well as what the end of the season holds for the club.
Tvline | Opie has now been catapulted to a darker place than we’ve ever seen him — and that’s saying a lot.

And, so it begins. The countdown to Clay’s (Ron Perlman) death has “officially” started on Sons of Anarchy. Clay has crossed too many lines, killed one too many fathers and ordered the deaths of one too many loved ones. “Call of Duty” pushed Clay further to the outskirts of the club. He’s always had a building tension with Jax (Charlie Hunnam), but now Jax has the first of three motives for killing Clay. Jax knows Clay brutally attacked the VP’s mom. It is only a matter of time before Jax also knows that Clay ordered the attack on Tara and killed John Teller. Unfortunately for Jax, he may not get the chance to exact the vengeance he so richly deserves. Why? Opie (Ryan Hurst) now knows that Clay killed Piney (William Lucking). In an unorthodox move, Unser (Dayton Callie) followed Opie up to Piney’s cabin. It...

Clay (Ron Perlman) has finally crossed the line. Wait. That may be an understatement. He’s crossed the line several times, but now Clay has made the one decision that we just can’t cosign. If you saw the “Hands” episode of Sons of Anarchy, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Clay Morrow is a wife beater. He beat Gemma (Katey Sagal). Violently. In so doing, he’s become the number one target on everyone’s hit list. When Clay killed Piney (William Lucking), we loathed Clay for his actions. Still, we retained some modicum of respect for the leader of Samcro. Now, that’s all out the window. Clay has signed his own death certificate. “He’s gonna die – by the hand of the son.” – Gemma to Unser (Dayton Callie) It looks like creator Kurt Sutter is shifting focus back towards the original biker depiction of the Hamlet story line.

Sons of Anarchy has been on a tremendous run recently and while the latest episode ‘Kiss’ wasn’t quite as stunning as last weeks stand-out ‘Family Recipe’, it was a quality episode that kept the drama building admirably.
I’m a little bemused over the sequence which gave the episode its sultry title, as we saw Gemma (Katey Sagal) giving Wayne Unser (Dayton Callie) a smooch, as they discovered the body of Piney (William Lucking) – whom was brutally slain by Clay (Ron Perlman) last week, with a shotgun blast to the chest.
Her reaction to finding Piney was understandably one of horror, but it soon gave way to conflicting thoughts over her feelings towards Clay. To me, it kind of makes sense that she feels an allegiance to protect the man she loves – whatever the cost. Not only this, but she also revealed her full knowledge of John Teller’s murder,...

If you asked me what I’d consider to be a perfect episode of Sons Of Anarchy ‘Family Recipe’ was pretty much it. The episode was just as hilarious as it was tragic, with plenty of character driven moments as well as just the right amount of requisite action. Even if its been an arguably patchy season, the last few episodes have been a definite confidence boost.
Having said that, watching Piney (William Lucking) being brutally slain by Clay (Ron Perlman) at the end of the episode was quite a sucker punch. He’s not only been one of the few characters this season who we’ve been able to sympathise with, but Piney has always been one of my favourites of the crew – thanks to his almost fatherly relationship with Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and his dedication to the old-morals of the club. Kurt Sutter, you devilish bastard. In one fell swoop, you secured Sons of Anarchy Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominations. It’s going to be a gritty war to see who gets best drama between Breaking Bad and Soa, but rest assured you deserve your time to shine. Sadly, all great victories come with a cost. Today, we wave goodbye to Piney, a character who has been played brilliantly by William Lucking this season and in seasons past. He’s the heart of the club. Piney is the wise moral compass and voice of reason that keeps the club from falling apart. He doesn’t need a lot of scenes, just a few moments of poignant speech and action to show us where the club is going if it doesn’t take a moment to reevaluate where its been.
