Cate Blanchett keeps her sunglasses on while arriving at the 2025 Olivier Awards held at The Royal Albert Hall on Sunday (April 6) in London.

The 55-year-old actress hit the stage during the show to present the award for Best Revival alongside her The Seagull co-star Tom Burke.

Fellow Marvel stars Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell, who star together in Much Ado About Nothing on the West End, also presented, handing out the trophies for Best Actress and Best Actor.

The Olivier Awards take place each year to celebrate the best in theater on the West End – the Tonys of London – and were hosted this year by Billy Porter and Beverley Knight.

The Serpent Queen will not be returning for a third season at Starz, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The news comes a little more than a month after the season two finale aired in August. The Serpent Queen, based on the book Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France by Leonie Frieda, is about the life of Catherine de’ Medici, the 16th century Queen of France.

In the second season, Catherine’s grip on power is tested as she faces power struggles, conflicts and betrayals while attempting to unite France. The show, created by Justin Haythe (The Lone Ranger), starred Samantha Morton as Catherine, in addition to Amrita Acharia, Enzo Cilenti, Ruby Bentall, Nicholas Burns, Beth Goddard, Raza Jaffrey and Danny Kirrane.

Apple TV+’s “Loot” is in the money: the comedy series, starring and executive produced by Maya Rudolph, has been renewed for a third season at the streamer.

Indira is the child of an Indian father and a Swiss mother who was of part Genoese Italian descent. Her mother was a graphic designer and her father was an illustrator.

The logline of the podcast reads “Each season goes deep into the real-life story of a special agent, unearthing daring missions, double crosses and dangerous liaisons,” reports Variety.

Season 1 is titled ‘The Spy Who Inspired 007’ and tells the story of Serbian spook Dusko Popov, who worked for MI5, MI6 and the FBI during World War II.

Exclusive: Animated drama series Pantheon, which stars the voices of Daniel Dae Kim, Paul Dano and Taylor Schilling, is the latest series to be scrapped at AMC Networks.

The series has been canceled after one season, despite a two-season order, and pulled from AMC’s streaming service as part of the company’s cost-cutting drive. The second season, which had been produced, will not air.

Pantheon joins shows such as Demascus, Invitation to a Bonfire and the second seasons of 61st Street and Moonhaven, which were all axed as part of a one-time tax write-down at the end of last year.

This write-down features around 400M of content and was revealed in an SEC filing in December.

In “The Same Storm,” it’s a welcome surprise to see Elaine May appear as one of the faces in writer-director Peter Hedges’ impressively diverse and starry ensemble, who take turns contributing scenes about the challenges of life during lockdown. May portrays spiky Ruth Lipsman Berg, who hops on a teleconference with a new doctor and her home health aide. Daphne Rubin-Vega is Lupe, her concerned caregiver. Raza Jaffrey is the gentle but quite-clear physician trying to ascertain if Ruth has contracted the coronavirus.

Ruth was in the scene right before this one — talking with her daughter, a webcam girl — so we’re aware she’s gotten dolled up for the doctor’s call. Like a good Jewish mother, she asked the doc if he’s single. If so, she has a daughter. Forget that in the prior scene, her call to said daughter (Mary-Louise Parker) was less than kind.

AMC+’s Pantheon posits a near future in which not one but two different companies have cracked the code to “uploaded intelligence” (Ui) — distinct from AI in that these aren’t sentient consciousnesses born of computers but ones born as humans, and then digitized into the cloud at the end of their corporeal lives. The approaches taken by Logorhythms and Alliance differ in minor points but, strikingly, both have chosen to deploy this bleeding-edge science in the same way: by stripping the UIs of everything but their professional skills so that they can continue toiling without end in the afterlife, trapped in simulated offices with little memory of any existence beyond work.

For any adult still avoiding animation out of some stubborn refusal to understand its advantages as a both visual and storytelling medium, “Pantheon” makes its ambitions known from the get-go. After the eerie opening theme, scoring a fluorescent string of code smashing through a Greek statue, the show cuts to a high-school classroom, where a blunt voiceover lays the stakes bare. “Most of the girls in my class completely missed the moment when the world began to end,” teen outcast Maddie Kim (Katie Chang) tells us, the laptops blinking in unison as if in agreement. It’s a fittingly arresting start to this unnerving series, which taps an all-star cast to meld micro character work with macro questions about technology that may never have a satisfying answer.

Created by Dan Silverstein, and based on Ken Liu’s short stories, “Pantheon” layers conspiracies on top of the even more bitter truth at every turn.

The Serpent Queen is coming soon to Starz. The cable channel has set a premiere date and released a trailer teasing the new historical drama.

Exclusive: Will Peltz (Unfriended), Sarah Dumont (Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse) and Sydelle Noel (Glow) have signed on to star alongside Frank Grillo, Jaime King, Katherine Hughes and Josh Plasse in the horror-thriller Man’s Son, with Voltage Pictures coming aboard to launch international sales ahead of the upcoming Marché du Film.

The XYZ Films title from director Remy Grillo centers on a young couple (Hughes and Plasse) hoping to create an aesthetically pleasing audition tape for an up-and-coming Charles Manson film. When they choose an eclectic desert Airbnb as the perfect backdrop, the dark events of the audition material slowly slip into their reality, until they find themselves intertwined in an occult, sinister plot led by King and Grillo’s characters.

Plasse and Brev Moss wrote the script, which is inspired by modern occult activity in the California desert, with production to kick off in Yucca Valley, California this month.

Sweet Girl star Isabela Merced is currently causing all manner of chaos in the name of revenge in Netflix's recently released action thriller, with the young actress already thinking about returning for sequel. Merced stars in the movie as Rachel Cooper, the daughter of Jason Momoa's Ray Cooper, and had high praise for the stunt team behind Sweet Girl's various gritty action sequences, hoping to work with them again on a potential Sweet Girl 2.

"[I'm playing] empowered characters only. It was so much fun because they got to do a lot of the action scenes and I've always loved action movies. This stunt team in particular, they're called 87eleven and they worked on some of my favorite action movies of all times. So I really felt like, 'Oh my God, I'm Charlize. Titled Wednesday, the eight-episode comedic “coming-of-age tale” stars Jenna Ortega (You) in the titular role and charts her character’s years as a student at Nevermore Academy. “Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore,” per the official logline.

Jason Momoa, while appearing virtually on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night to promote his new Netflix revenge thriller Sweet Girl, took part in a 'Make It Sexy Challenge,' and the action star brought his A game, people! You've never watched such mundane tasks performed that requires a fainting chair and a fan.

The segment was first introduced by guest host Anthony Anderson, who told Jason Momoa that they had a special challenge for the muscular star's "unique set of skills." Momoa said he was not to take any of his clothes off by "the studio," but felt the challenge leant to it. Anderson, not to be outdone, joined in, stripping down to just his pants as Momoa began the first task of the challenge.

The new images show hulking actor Jason Momoa running around while looking deeply concerned, and likely out of his depth, as he attempts payback. Seeing the usually intimidating Momoa thrown into a situation that he can't handle should prove to be a nice change of pace for both the actor and audiences, making Sweet Girl one to look out for.
