Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy is out now.

The one-hour documentary centers around what led to the death of the beloved Friends actor in October of 2023 at his house in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

The special features interviews with Morgan Fairchild, who played his mother in Friends, U.S. attorney Martin Estrada, former Los Angeles Police Department detective Greg Kading and more Hollywood insiders and law enforcement officials.

None of the main cast of Friends appear in the documentary, however.

In the opening of the documentary, directed by Robert Palumbo for ITN Productions, the story of Perry’s childhood in Ottawa, Canada, is shown in still images as The Hollywood Reporter contributor Deborah Wilker, who was interviewed for the film, explains aspects of his early life — that his mother worked in the press office of Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and how his dad’s work as a model and actor (at one point, he was the “Old Spice guy”) drew him toward acting.

Peacock has released a trailer for Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy, a one-hour documentary that revisits the tragic death of Friends star Matthew Perry and the criminal charges against five defendants, including two doctors and a woman dubbed Hollywood’s “ketamine queen.”

“We used to blame the victim. We don’t do that anymore,” Martin Estrada, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, says at one point in the teaser trailer. The documentary, set to debut on Feb. 25, instead explores a dark underbelly of ketamine recreational use in Los Angeles.

Peacock is moving forward with a documentary about its late “Friends” star, Matthew Perry. “Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy” is set to premiere Feb. 25 on Peacock.

“I genuinely don’t think a lot of people realize what fame really is … They really preyed on somebody vulnerable” one documentary subject says in the trailer for the film.

“A Hollywood Tragedy” promises to explore Los Angeles’ ketamine scene, the drug that was responsible for the late Perry’s overdose. The film also includes interviews from Morgan Fairchild, who played Perry’s mother on “Friends” as well as insights from law enforcement experts and Hollywood insiders. Additionally, the documentary will dive into the court case that followed in the wake of Perry’s death.

The Gh preview for Friday, December 6 shows Brook Lynn and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) at the Deception Cosmetics office when an obvious “situation” is happening; Brook Lynn says they need to bring out the big guns! They seem to be watching something off in the distance and there’s an emergency. Is there a problem caused by Natalia Ramirez (Eva Larue) again – taking more authority than she’s been given?

It’s been a bit since I’ve posted a blog, which hopefully someone out there has noticed. I had to take a brief hiatus from my daily Days viewing to get a real job (temporarily!). But I didn’t completely leave the soap world behind. For the past six week, I served as the production coordinator for a civil war feature filming in middle Tennessee produced by All My Children veteran Alan Dysert (ex-Sean Cudahy) and featuring Dynasty legend John James (ex-Jeff Colby).

Yes, that’s right. Nashville is not just home to the Dimera warehouse in which all the dead bodies of Salems finest and not-so-finest are resurrected when the storyline serves. It is also home to quite a few daytime alums. Melissa Reeves, Scott Reeves, Jonathan Jackson. So it should come as no surprise a movie filming just outside of Nashville would feature not one but two former sudsers.

Before USA Network became series-focused, the cable channel delivered a steady stream of weekly original movies. Many of which were produced by McA (now NBCUniversal). And during this era — between the late 1980s and early 2000s — USA offered a variety of genres; action and suspense were the most common, but horror also came up from time to time.

Especially around Halloween.

USA Network is no longer in the business of airing these “World Premiere Movies,” horror or otherwise, and there haven’t been great strides to bring all of them to streaming or modern home video. However, the horror entries certainly have their merits as well as fans.

The best part is that Sarah, whom we see tease and taunt Weekend Update’s Colin Jost on Saturday nights, is a huge Gh fan.

It’s a dream come true for the hysterical comedian, who was thrilled when she was asked to play a guest part.

Despite the incident with Sasha, who had a meltdown on the Home & Heart shopping show, Lucy salvaged things. Her cosmetics company, Deception, has hocked their products several times since on the show-within-the-show. The concept is so popular, that General Hospital is officially releasing Deception products in the real world, which are inspired by the ones seen on the sudser.

In an August press release, Gh announced, “Its officially licensed online shopping platform, Shop Home and Heart.com.” With the cute tagline, “The General Hospital fictional beauty brand is now Real!” on its site, fans will be overjoyed to find real-world products like the characters sell on the show, which seem reasonably priced.

HBO returns to the world of Stephen King’s horror classic It with the upcoming prequel series “Welcome to Derry,” being unleashed on both HBO and Max sometime next year.

Jason Fuchs, the co-showrunner and executive producer for Welcome to Derry, confirmed on social media that filming is finished after over seven months, via Collider. Max announced the new series in late 2024, and it will expand King's It universe after the success of 2017's It and 2019's It: Chapter Two. Welcome to Derry is developed by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs, the team behind the two blockbusters.

Pat Colbert, who played the role of the Oil Baron’s Club host Dora Mae in the CBS soap Dallas, has died. She was 77. Colbert died on June 23 in her Compton, California home. She had three strokes in the last 10 years, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Colbert’s first television appearance was in 1979. She played a model in Eischied, the series which starred Joe Don Baker. The actress would then go on to co-star in the NBC soap opera Flamingo Road, sharing credits with actors such as John Beck, Howard Duff, Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush, and Mark Harmon. She appeared in the two-hour pilot and was a recurring role throughout the first season. Her character was eliminated in Season 2 when the brothel was turned into a supper club. Through the 1980s, Colbert appeared in other television series such as Benson, The Fall Guy, Knots Landing, and A Death in California.

Bill Cobbs, an actor who worked so steadily over decades that he was immediately recognizable to most TV- and movie viewers, died Tuesday at his home in California. He was 90.

Cobbs’ family announced the death on Facebook. “We are saddened to share the passing of Bill Cobbs. On Tuesday, June 25, Bill passed away peacefully at his home in California,” the post reads. “A beloved partner, big brother, uncle, surrogate parent, godfather and friend, Bill recently and happily celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by cherished loved ones. As a family we are comforted knowing Bill has found peace and eternal rest with his Heavenly Father.

Roseanne star Sandra Bernhard apologized to her former co-star Morgan Fairchild for her behavior on the set of the sitcom, explaining how much she regretted her attitude at the time. Morgan Fairchild is reacting to Sandra Bernhard’s apology after the latter revealed she had not been nice to her co-star on the Roseanne set back in the 1990s.

Bernhard recently admitted she didn’t have a good relationship with Fairchild on the ABC sitcom set. Fairchild appeared in a handful of episodes playing her bisexual girlfriend Marla and appeared in three episodes of the comedy.

“I’m very touched by Sandra Bernhard’s words. Very nice of her,” Fairchild posted on X, the microblogging platform formerly known as Twitter. “Yes, it was a difficult set for me, but that’s show biz.”

Meg Bennett, the Daytime Emmy winner who did double duty as an actress and writer on the daytime soap operas The Young and the Restless, General Hospital and Santa Barbara, has died. She was 75.

Bennett died April 11 after a battle with cancer, her family announced.

Bennett portrayed Marty Maraschino for more than two years during the original Broadway run of Grease that kicked off in 1972, then began her long run in daytime two years later with a turn as Liza Walton on CBS’ Search for Tomorrow, where Kevin Kline and Morgan Fairchild were castmates.
