Exclusive: Quibi is expanding its development slate with One Night Forever, a new series from The Arrangement creator Jonathan Abrahams and AwesomenessTV.

Written by Abrahams, in One Night Forever, cracking under the pressure of her senior thesis, an overwhelmed astrophysics major meets a mysterious romantic who claims to be from another planet. Together they spend one fateful night on a mission to fix her thesis, explore the meaning of love, and just maybe unlock the secret of the universe.

Shelley Zimmerman, Rebecca Glashow, and Brin Lukens will executive produce for AwesomenessTV.

E! has canceled drama series “The Arrangement” after two seasons, Variety has confirmed.

“Over two seasons, E!’s scripted series ‘The Arrangement’ has taken viewers inside the world of an A-list movie star filled with secrets, scandal and romance,” and E! spokesperson said. “While we have decided not to move forward with the series, we are incredibly grateful to the cast and our production partners.”

Produced by E! corporate sibling Universal Cable Productions, “The Arrangement” hailed from writer and executive producer Jonathan Abrahams. The series recently ended its second season, with the final episode premiering on E! May 13.

“The Arrangement” was one of two current scripted series on the NBCUniversal-owned cable channel. The other, “The Royals,” recently ended its fourth season, and has not received word on whether it will be picked up for a fifth.

E! has opted not to pick up a third season of its original scripted series The Arrangement. The show’s recent May 13 Season 2 finale served as a series finale.

“Over two seasons, E!’s scripted series The Arrangement has taken viewers inside the world of an A-list movie star filled with secrets, scandal and romance,” a E! spokesperson said in a statement to Deadline. “While we have decided not to move forward with the series, we are incredibly grateful to the cast and our production partners.”

The Arrangement was one of two original scripted series on E! along with The Royals, whose fourth season aired alongside The Arrangement. The fate of that series, whose creator-showrunner Mark Schwahn was fired in December amid sexual harassment allegations, has not been decided.

“The Arrangement” is really, really not about Scientology, according to the cast and executive producer of the new E! drama. “It really isn’t,” showrunner Jonathan Abrahams said a the Television Critics Association panel earlier this year, answering the first (of many) questions about whether the marriage at the center of the show has any parallels to celebrity marriages within the movement created by L. John Singleton is poised to be the next filmmaker to make the leap to television, as FX has picked up the pilot for Snowfall, a show co-created by Singleton. The press release had this summary of the series.

The Producers Guild of America has announced the nominees for their 2012 film and TV awards.

The Producers Guild Awards (PGA) nominees include the obvious choices such as The Artist, The Descendants, and Hugo, but also some films that have not often been mentioned in the build-up to the Oscars, including Moneyball, The Help, The Ides of March. The Producers Guild of America has announced their nominations for the PGA Awards and it's hard not to agree with every movie on the list. All of the ones I've seen are great films, and the ones I haven't seen I've heard are amazing. The only two on the list I haven't watched are The Artist and The Descendants, both of which I'm looking forward to seeing. I'd love Hugo or War Horse to take home the top prize though. We really can’t say that 2011 is behind us until award season is finished, and as we get closer to the coveted Academy Awards in February, various other guilds and organizations are recognizing the best that 2011 had to offer. Today the Producers Guild of America announced their nominees for Best Picture. The PGA is generally a good indicator as to which movies will be nominated for best Picture when the Oscars roll around.

There are some pretty safe picks. Movies like War Horse, The Artist, The Descendants, and Hugo all made the list, but its Bridesmaids that came completely out of no where.

Here's your best indicator yet as to what the crop of nominations for the Best Picture Oscar is likely to be. The Producers Guild of America (PGA) has announced its nominations for 2011 awards, which will be doled out on January 21. The ten films nominated for the PGA's top honor include expected pictures such as The Artist, The Descendants and War Horse. There are no real surprises, but the growing Oscar chances for The Help won't be hurt by getting a PGA nomination (would be slightly wild to see Chris Columbus, a producer on The Help, with an Oscar), and Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris makes an appearance on the list, too. There are a couple surprises, though, in the form of Bridesmaids and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo -- the Judd Apatow and Scott Rudin effects in full force there. HollywoodNews.com: The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced today the motion picture and long-form television nominations for the 23rd Annual Producers Guild Awards. The categories include: The Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures; The Producers Guild of America Producer of the Year Award in Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures; and The David L. Wolper Producer of the Year Award in Long-Form Television. The documentary film category and other television category nominations were already announced by the Guild in December 2011.

All 2012 Producers Guild Award winners will be announced on January 21, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Legal Affairs, which Bochco will co-write with Raising the Bar writer-producer Jonathan Abrahams, is an ensemble legal drama following the partners and associates at a prestigious L.A. law firm who must balance tangled personal relationships with the demands of family and high-profile cases. The project will be produced by ABC Studios and Gary Fleder’s Mojo Films banner, with Bochco, Abrahams and Fleder executive producing. Modern Family, Downton Abbey, and the other winners of the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced. The 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards “often referred to simply as the Emmy, is a television production award, similar in nature to the Peabody Awards but more focused on entertainment, and is considered the television equivalent to the Academy Awards (for film), Grammy Awards (for music) and Tony Awards (for stage).” The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awarded the 2010-2011 Primetime Emmys® for programs and individual achievements last night in Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. As soon as we thought we could predict the outcome of the Oscars, here comes another surprise! This one's brought to you by the Writers Guild of America. Picked for Best Original Screenplay was Christopher Nolan's "Inception." The director, famously dissed for not getting a Best Director Oscar nomination, may just win the Best Original Screenplay come Oscar night. Oscar front-runner, "The King's Speech" was not nominated because it didn't quality under union rules which prompted Nolan to say during his WGA acceptance award that he looked forward to a time when he could accept the award "without qualification."

That could be the beginning of a great script Mr. Nolan, go write it :happy

For adapted screenplay, I'm happy to report that Aaron Sorkin's fantastic script won! Based on "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich, "The Social Network" was the only film last year that I predicted to win this very category.

It's no surprise that Aaron Sorkin's script for The Social Network won Best Adapted Screenplay at the Writers Guild Awards last night -- that script is the favorite for pretty much any award it's up for.  The same is roughly true for David Seidler's script for The King's Speech in the original category.  But the very British The King's Speech does not meet WGA eligibility, leaving a vacuum at the top.  Christopher Nolan stepped up and won Best Original Screenplay for Inception, news that ought to please the masses. In television, Mad Men was named the Best Drama Series for the third year in a row, while Modern Family managed to end 30 Rock's three-year reign as Best Comedy Series.  Hit the jump to see the full list of winners.
