Grant Gustin revealed his initial reaction to The Flash's "Duet" episode. Fans consider that Supergirl crossover a highlight of the Arrowverse, especially Kara Danvers and Barry Allen's musical number.
The Flash was the best show in The CW's Arrowverse. Fans went through a rollercoaster of emotions across nine seasons of The Flash, especially its crossover episodes. Season 3's "Duet" caught audiences by surprise, however; the plot involved Kara Danvers and Barry Allen trapped in a musical dreamworld. "Duet" was surreal because it broke from the show's grounded narrative, but audiences loved the novelty. Critics praised "Duet" for its lighthearted tone and endearing ensemble, but Grant Gustin had reservations about filming that episode; he told Michael Rosenbaum that "Duet" was an odd turn for the show.

The CW's The Flash Star John Wesley Shipp has talked about the immediate connection he had with his co-star and fellow Barry Allen actor Grant Gustin. Shipp starred as the titular DC character in 1990's The Flash CBS series before returning to play Gustin's father, Henry Allen, in the Arrowverse.
The Flash franchise veteran Shipp discussed the length of his tenure as the Scarlet Speedster and his relationship with his co-star Gustin at Megacon. In response to Cbr's question about how long he has been involved with the character, he stated, "35 years. As many years as Grant Gustin has been alive." Shipp continued, "It was an immediate connection. This is a guy who's a truthful actor. He knew I'd been the Flash, and I knew what he was taking on." In addition to playing Barry Allen in CBS' The Flash and Henry Allen in The CW's iteration, Shipp also starred as Jay Garrick,...

Having played the iconic DC character the Flash longer than anyone, Grant Gustin has now given insight into how he kept the Scarlet Speedster fresh for so long. Gustin played the Barry Allen incarnation of the character in The CW's The Flash for nine seasons and also appeared in crossovers and other shows across the Arrowverse.
Gustin told Cbr at Megacon that the show retained its freshness because he took the responsibility of playing the Flash seriously. "It was never an intentional thought about how to keep it fresh," he began. "I'm a very scene-by-scene actor. I wanted to keep it realistic. The only reason I did a decent job with the show is I took it very seriously. Try not to suck." Gustin's dedication to playing the Crimson Comet has always been evident in interactions with fans throughout his years of playing the character in the show that ended its run two years ago.

It seems Bash and Mags’ relationship has already hit a rough spot now that everyone knows about the couple on NBC’s Transplant season three. We’ll have to a wait bit longer for the stateside Season 3 premiere of Canadian medical drama Transplant. The new season will launch Thursday, Oct. 12 at 9 pm on NBC, a week later than its original Oct. 5 date, and will stream next day on Peacock.
Winner of two consecutive Canadian Screen Awards for Best Drama, the third season finds Bashir “Bash” Hamed (Hamza Haq) continuing his journey to start over, but with each new milestone comes a new challenge. While pursuing Canadian citizenship for himself and his younger sister, Amira (Sirena Gulamgaus), Bash closely examines who he’s becoming in his adopted country.
Bash, still being asked repeatedly to prove himself, works closely with his colleagues as they move forward following the dramatic conclusion of season two. Everyone continues to find themselves looking to adapt to change and understand how they fit in, both within and beyond the walls of York Memorial Hospital.

Gorilla Grodd’s coming back to The Flash next week. The intelligent ape has been a fixture of the show since its first season and now it’s time for his annual appearance. But these promo images for the episode, which sports the perfect title “Grodd Friended Me,” reveal that another familiar face from the Flash’s past will make a return, too, in the form of none other than the original Harrison Wells. At least, that’s how it looks.
What with Grodd being a CG creation, the simian supervillain isn’t showcased in these pics. Instead, they tease a confrontation between Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen and Wells. With his attire and glasses, this version of the character closely resembles the original Harrison from season 1, who – as we all know – was Reverse-Flash in disguise. That could be what’s happening here, as he does appear to be locking Barry up.

The latest version of Harrison Wells was introduced at the beginning of The Flash season 6 – Nash Wells, an inter-dimensional explorer we eventually discovered was on the hunt for the Anti-Monitor. This made him partially responsible for the devastation the villain wrought on the multiverse in “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” causing the guilt-ridden Nash to rename himself Pariah – as per the comic book character. Now “Crisis” is all over and done with and reality is saved, but Nash will be sticking around Central City in season 6B.
While speaking to TV Line, showrunner Eric Wallace promised that Tom Cavanagh will continue to play this iteration of Wells for the remainder of the current run of The Flash. When we first learned that Cicada would serve as The Flash season 5’s big bad, I doubt any of us thought that his true identity would differ from the source material – or that his niece would travel back from the future, murder him, and take up his mantle. But I guess that’s what happens when everybody enjoys screwing with the timeline.
Of course, the show has a lot more going for it right now, so maybe that’s why it appears the final showdown with Cicada II will take place during this season’s penultimate episode. Don’t forget, the synopsis for the finale hints at the Reverse-Flash taking center stage.
Strangely enough, the villain herself doesn’t actually appear in the promo photos circulating ahead of next week’s adventure, but there are still enough there to tide us over. As you browse the gallery, you’ll find...

Now that a time traveling adult Grace Gibbons has taken over as big bad on The Flash, I’m oddly thrilled to learn she’s being referred to as what I’d been calling her following the big reveal, that being “Cicada II.” Hey, it’s obvious but it works.
For the time being, it appears as though Cicada II has been put on the back burner so that the situation involving Nora West-Allen and Eobard Thawne be fully explored – not to mention the return of the Icicle coming tomorrow night – but we can expect for Grace to resurface in season 5’s penultimate episode at the very latest. Suffice it to say, this has been confirmed by the official synopsis:
Cicada II Makes Her Move – Team Flash is on high alert after Cicada II (guest star Sarah Carter) threatens to unleash a dangerous virus that would put all meta-humans at risk.

As you may remember, we’d originally presented photos from “King Shark vs. Gorilla Grodd” a few weeks ago, but those surprisingly focused much more on Jesse L. Martin’s long-awaited return to The Flash. In fact, there was really nothing to offer regarding the super heavyweight fight at that time. And though I’m sure we’re all appreciative of seeing Joe West return to the fold, I’m guessing you may have felt shortchanged.
Fortunately, the network has released yet another batch of images from said episode at the eleventh hour. This isn’t unheard of in my line of work, as producers may hold onto certain info if it’s deemed too spoilerish. In this case, though, it could’ve been due to the visual effects team needing more time to polish the headlining creatures.

Entertaining as the current season of The Flash has thus far proven to be, there’s been something missing: Joe West. Played by Jesse L. Martin, this fine detective has shown himself to be an invaluable ally to the crew at Star Labs, and lent countless heartwarming moments since the pilot episode aired. In other words, he’s every bit as good of a TV cop as he is a TV dad.
Unfortunately, Jesse had to take a leave of absence from the series after injuring his back. As such, his character hasn’t been seen since episode 5×04. But now that the veteran actor has been given ample time to heal, he’ll return just in time for what might end up being March’s biggest Arrowverse showdown.

“King Shark vs. Gorilla Grodd, are you kidding me?” No, Iris, we aren’t. The recent promo for next week’s episode of The Flash echoed all our thoughts when Candice Patton’s character reacted with shock at the title of the installment.
“King Shark vs. Gorilla Grodd” promises to be a blast for Flash lovers everywhere, as it’ll bring together two of the Scarlet Speedster’s biggest, baddest and weirdest rogues. But what’s caused the giant telepathic primate to be pitted against the ferocious man-shark?
Well, this new synopsis for the fifteenth episode of season 5 teases that an unexpected alliance between Grodd and Team Flash is what brings the pair into battle. However, it seems the real key to stopping King Shark is to appeal to his more human side.

After riding high with epic crossover event ‘Crisis on Earth X’, The Flash continues its exceptional form. This week’s mid season finale “Don’t Run” is filled with slow thrills and twists. Devoe’s immaculate game plan to defeat Barry Allen resembles a perfect game of chess where all his pieces were moved according to plan.
As the night before a nasty storm is calm and cool, the condition of the team Flash resembles the same. They were having fun after the huge wedding moment, Ralph Dibny (an excellent Hartley Sawyer) returns to Star Labs and started hanging out with Killer Frost and Co. We have a gift opening session with the couple and one of them played a pivotal role at the end.

Now that the sheer awesomeness that was the “Crisis on Earth-x” crossover is behind us, we’re almost ready to go about business as usual. But when you factor in that next week will see each Arrowverse series air their midseason finales, it may take us a little more time to catch our breath.
As you may have noticed, the crossover’s commercial breaks lacked trailers for said midseason finales, perhaps because the network didn’t want to take anybody out of their fluid viewing experiences. Well, thankfully, the promos we’ve been waiting for are starting to trickle online, with The Flash being chief among them.

Even though we have what appears to be an awesome crossover in the form of “Crisis on Earth-x” to look forward to next week, the reality of the situation is that the bulk of whatever plots unfolding across each of the Arrowverse‘s individual shows will have to be put on hold for the time being. This doubly builds anticipation for their reprisals, especially when you consider the cliffhangers that both Supergirl and The Flash left us on this week.
Well, expect some major payoff throughout the first full week of December when The CW airs midseason finales for its DC TV shows. First on the block is Supergirl, which will see Samantha finally and reluctantly emerge as this year’s big bad, that being Reign, in the episode appropriately titled, um, “Reign.”

You know, in hindsight, perhaps “intriguing” isn’t the best word. In this first look at next week’s episode of Supergirl, Mister Mxyzptlk arrives in National City to creepily ask for Kara Danvers’ hand in marriage, something the Girl of Steel isn’t too pleased with, especially after he conjures up a wedding dress for her.
For those of you unfamiliar with the villain, Mister Mxyzptlk is a reality warping bad guy who’s been a thorn in Superman’s side for decades, and while he’s often harmless enough, he also happens to be incredibly powerful and capable of changing the world as we know it on a whim.

This past Monday’s episode of Supergirl featured the return of the original Hank Henshaw as Cyborg Superman. Now, a new clip has been released which features the robotic villain heading to National City’s alien bar to take on Mon-El in a battle which doesn’t end up going particularly well for the Daxamite refugee.
When we first met Hank in Supergirl, many fans suspected that he would be revealed as Cyborg Superman when his eyes glowed red in the final few moments of the pilot. However, the big twist was that he was actually Martian Manhunter and that he’d replaced Hank years earlier when the Deo boss tried to murder the Girl of Steel’s adoptive father.
Bringing him back in this new villainous role is an interesting move on the show’s part, and for more on what to expect from “Medusa,” here’s the official...

Disclaimer: This article has spoilers for Legends of Tomorrow Season 1
A part of me was a bit disappointed when Wentworth Miller’s Leonard Snart (a.k.a. Captain Cold) left The Flash to pursue his own ambitions in the Arrow-verse offshoot Legends of Tomorrow. It took a while, but not only did I grow accustomed to Miller’s campy portrayal of the fan favorite Rogues villain, he quickly became one of my favorite parts of the show.
His portrayal only got better as Legends of Tomorrow progressed. No, the show wasn’t the strongest (I think it leans a bit to far in the direction of camp for my taste), but I appreciated the development they gave for both Snart and Rory for the season, and was frustrated when the series decided to kill him off in a blaze of glory ("There are no strings on me.").

It comes as no surprise that The Flash continues to astonish in what has so far been a thoroughly entertaining third season. And, if this newly released extended trailer for next week’s episode, “The New Rogues,” properly reflects how awesome that offering may be, then it’s probably safe to say the trend will continue.
A major draw in this particular episode comes in the form of Mirror Master making his long awaited debut. You see, he happens to be one of the quintessential Flash villains from the comic books, so it comes as somewhat of a surprise the producers have waited this long to incorporate him. But, then again, it’s also reassuring to know that not every resource was jammed into the first season or two and there’s still much to be tapped as the series races toward a prosperous future.

That’s clearly going to be an ongoing plot point this year too, as the description for episode 4 reveals that Captain Cold is now alive and well.
The villain died in the season 1 finale of Legends of Tomorrow, but something has clearly changed in this timeline as he’s now alive and being tracked down by Mirror Master. His appearance in The Flash is long overdue, and while the title of the episode – “The New Rogues” – points to Cold finally assembling the team of villains, it sounds like they’re going to be at odds here.

Despite the fact that it’s already been confirmed that Zoom is really Hunter Zolomon in The Flash, it’s hard to escape the feeling that there’s still more to his story than meets the eye, especially as he pretended to be The Flash on Earth-2 and has a mysterious masked figure locked up in his lair with a metal mask over their face.

Barry Is Ready To Face Zoom; Hunter Zoloman’S Story Is Revealed Equipped with the tachyon device, Barry (Grant Gustin) believes he is fast enough to stop Zoom (guest star Teddy Sears) and wants to open the breaches to catch him. Harry (Tom Cavanagh) strongly advises against that plan but after Barry convinces him, Harry reveals that Cisco (Carlos Valdes) has the power to re-open the breach. Meanwhile, Hunter Zoloman’s (Teddy Sears) painful story on Earth-2 is revealed. Stefan Pleszcynski directed the episode from a script written by Joe Peracchio and David Kob. Seems a bit silly that after everything that's occurred between the two, Barry would put his faith in something he acquires from Reverse-Flash as the means to a victory over Zoom. What are the odds that the tachyon device malfunctions or secretly siphons off Barry's speed and sends it to Eobard? We'll find out for sure...

After delivering a fantastic episode that very much followed the classic monster hunting formula, while also having some great moments involving the Winchesters in “Into The Mystic,” Supernatural looks to bring back some recurring characters in next week’s offering.
“Don’t You Forget About Me” will not only see the return of Sheriff Jody Mills, whom fans have become quite accustomed to seeing in recent years, but also Claire (daughter of Jimmy, Castiel’s vessel) and Alex, who has mostly been name dropped since her first appearance. Having all these characters under one roof should make for some combustible elements and I sense the “Spn Family” will take to social media rather quickly after this episode airs.
On that note, the plot thread to keep an eye on in this episode is that Claire has not only become a hunter, but has been attacking humans and accusing them of being monsters.

With the first season of The Flash ending with the opening of the Multiverse, the first few episodes of the second season spent their time setting up the show’s new paradigm. What couldn’t be forgotten, however, is that the team itself needed to be rebuilt after having lost its most crucial member in the former Harrison Wells, aka Eobard Thawne. With Dr. Stein also having lost Ronnie, and by extension his stabilising force, the past two episodes have shifted the focus towards rebuilding the team, adding new members to replace those who are gone and add more strengths. The...

Sneak Peek footage, plus images from "The Flash" episode, "The Fury Of Firestorm", written by Kai Yu Wu, Joe Peracchio and directed by Stefan Pleszczynski, that aired October 27, 2015 on The CW, revealing DC Comics' super-villain 'King Shark':
"It was just fun for us," said "The Flash" producer Andrew Kreisberg about the 'King Shark' cameo.
"Obviously we can't afford to do an entire 'King Shark' episode so the idea was that he was one of the minions of 'Zoom', and just the latest in the line.
"Which does mean that there is a King Shark on 'Earth-1'."
