The title of “Sorry/Not Sorry,” a documentary about the Louis C.K. scandal, makes the film sound like a hot-button exposé with the potential to be as controversial as the case itself. The offscreen infamy of Louis C.K. — his coercive and abusive ritual of masturbating in front of women, many of whom were his comedian colleagues — was first revealed in the mainstream media nearly seven years ago, amid the tidal wave of reckoning that became #MeToo. I thought: Is the film going to be about how Louis C.K. is now sorry…and not sorry? And what point-of-view will the documentary take?
“Sorry/Not Sorry” does deal with Louis C.K.’s reaction to the scandal: his message of apology that was never quite an apology; his carefully orchestrated comeback, after only nine months, via the comedy-club circuit (a comeback that ultimately encompassed his winning a Grammy for best comedy album...

The documentary capturing comedian Louis C.K.’s #MeToo scandal has been shelved at Showtime.
Director Caroline Suh (“Blackpink: Light Up the Sky”) was originally set to helm the documentary announced by Paramount Global exec David Nevins in August 2022. Nevins exited Paramount in October 2022.
Showtime confirmed to IndieWire that the documentary would not be moving forward but did not provide additional reasons as to why. Variety first reported the news.
“Louis C.K. is a slightly different situation [compared to Harvey Weinstein],” then-Showtime CEO Nevins said at the time. “[He is] a great, great comedian who has come back in his own way.”
Nevins added, “I don’t think the social change that #MeToo has brought about is resolved at all. There’s a bit of backlash against #MeToo, who has to go away and who’s allowed to come back.”
The documentary was set to chart C.K.’s exit from projects in 2017 following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.

Jon Stewart joined Matt Lauer during the November 14 edition of “Today” to promote his upcoming HBO comedy event “Night of Too Many Stars,” and the comedian took some time during the interview to address Louis C.K.’s sexual misconduct. As an avalanche of stories about bad behavior in Hollywood consumes the industry, it’s time to not only question the system that enabled this behavior, but acknowledge the full extent of the resulting damage.
Beyond the physical or psychological damage that such harassment and assault caused its victims, many of these cases impacted careers — stopping some from chasing their Hollywood hopes and dreams all together, and keeping others from pursuing certain jobs because of whom might be attached.

Renown director, actor and producer Louis C.K. is the latest star to be accused of sexual misconduct.
In an exposé by The New York Times, five women have come forward to allege that C.K. openly masturbated in front of them. This comes after years of rumors – rumors that have dogged the influential comedian since as far back as the mid-2000s – though this is the first time that anyone has gone on record in an official capacity.
Back in 2002, Louis C.K. allegedly asked two female comediennes, Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov, to come up to his hotel room. When they refused, he proceeded to get naked without their permission and masturbate in front of them. The following year, Abby Schachner claims she could hear C.K. masturbating on the phone as they spoke, while Rebecca Corey alleges that the comic asked her if he could pleasure himself in her presence.

Dubbed Biatches, the six-episode animated series covers the shenanigans of misbehaving high school juniors Dana and Julia who are forced to take special education classes. Co-created by Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov from MTV’s Faking It, the show was animated by Bento Box Entertainment (the same company who worked on Bob’s Burgers) and directed by Simpsons’ Brad Ableson. Biatches debuted yesterday morning exclusively on Comedy Central’s digital platform, Cc:Studios, as well as on YouTube and the network’s mobile app. All six episodes of the first season are available for viewing. The show is part of a larger initiative to ramp up content on Comedy Central’s relatively new digital home.
