I've heard rumors for quite awhile that J.J. Abrams was having a full 1:1 scale model of the Millennium Falcon built for Star Wars: Episode VII. Well, it's looking like those rumors could actually be true! Yahoo is reporting that the ship has actually already been completed! Both inside and out!
"A full-scale 1:1 Millennium Falcon has been built as well as the interiors of the ship for filming. The Falcon is done - inside and out. The sets were built off-site, ready to move when Lucasfilm/Bad Robot were ready to move into Pinewood."
Wow! That is a sight I would love to see! I imagine if they ended up spending all that time and money on building this thing, that they plan on using it in multiple films. It would be even more awesome if it were fully functional!
I love that they actually...

Here are some of the most beautiful Star Wars photos I have ever seen. The photos are by French photographer Cédric Delsaux. They are images of what he considers "the peripheral zones" of modern cities - wastelands, empty deserts, scrapyards with Star Wars characters and items added in.
You know you have done something right when George Lucas likes what you did. Lucas calls them "one of the most unique and intriguing interpretations that I have seen."
Delsaux put some of his best work into "Dark Lens," which can now be bought in the U.S.. Check out the images and share your thoughts below:
Which are your favorites?

The day after the Academy Awards is a very slow news day. After all, everyone is focused on who won what Award last night. So to give you something other than Oscar news, how about some photos of Star Wars characters in present day Dubai by Cédric Delsaux. While he did a number of them, I’ve taken my favorites and placed them after the jump.
Thanks to One Cool Thing a Day for finding this and the original source is amusement.fr. They have a lot more images.

Coruscant is the capitol city of the “Star Wars” universe for all you non Nerds out there just checking into Scificool to see how your neurons could be functioning. Dubai (if it remains solvent) is the instant Sci-Fi city of your dreams if you had billions and billions and maybe billions of oil cash and you wanted to create something in the sand that will remain after the oil gets eaten like your milkshake. What’s a future city floating in the heat haze without droid armies, AtATs and an R2D2 or Millennium Falcon to spice up the works? Photographer and time traveler Cédric Delsaux has these shots from Dubai where we see a glimpse of our future. Maybe we are the ones in the Galaxy Far Far Away. Thanks Technabob!
