The following contains spoilers for Paddington in Peru.
He might be locked up, but Paddington in Peru couldn't resist a surprise appearance from an old foe. Following the movie's release, director Dougal Wilson explained how its mid-credits scene came together, briefly reuniting Paddington Bear with Paddington 2 villain Phoenix Buchanan (Hugh Grant) after his latest adventure concluded.
While Buchanan's incarceration made linking him to Paddington in Peru tricky, the screenwriters found a way through the film's ending where Paddington introduces the bears he met in Peru to London's sights, creating an opening to see him again in prison. "I thought it was a very Paddington reconciliatory thing to do to go. Meet his nemesis from the second film," Wilson told Entertainment Weekly. "Wouldn't it be fun if Paddington was the one visiting with his bear tribe, and they were visiting Phoenix because Paddington's forgiven Phoenix?"

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the January 13 episode of Jeopardy!] Sometimes, all it takes is one letter to end up losing out on Jeopardy!, and that’s exactly what happened with Paul Clauson as the Champions Wildcard tournament got underway. (The tournament features 15 champions who missed out on qualifying for the Tournament of Champions during its initial run and are competing for its last spot.) Clauson, a tax analyst from Madison Heights, Michigan, faced off against Jen Feldman, a high school teacher from Brooklyn, New York, and Will Yancey, a lecturer of history from Banquete, Texas. While Clauson was leading with 4,600 heading into the Double Jeopardy! round, he lost all his 3,400 by being just off by a letter in his response for a (true) Daily Double (the second one found in the game). In People of the Book, the clue read: “Paralyzed Clifford, amorous Constance, manly Oliver.” Clauson answered with, “Lady Chatterley’s Lovers,” ...

If just its box office numbers had been considered, then The Stepfather would have remained a standalone movie. However, the 1987 cult flick ultimately found an audience after tanking in theaters; it went on to become a major success on both video and television. So the production company behind the original movie, Itc, went ahead with putting cinema’s deadliest daddy back on the big screen. The pressing question at the time though, was whether or not Terry O’Quinn would return. And if he did, how would his character even come back?
John Auerbach, whose sole screenwriting credit is Stepfather II, was put in charge of bringing the fatal father figure back from the dead. Like anyone else in his position, Auerbach assumed he would be penning a prequel, on account of the fact that O’Quinn’s character was killed at the end of the first movie. On the contrary,...

Death Stranding 2 is expected to be released next year on the PlayStation 5, and the gaming community is eager to learn more about the new characters joining Sam Porter Bridges, played by Norman Reedus. The original game was released a few years ago and piqued the interest of the player base as they dived into this new world.
The lore can be somewhat confusing, especially with the involvement of otherworldly elements like BTs and the fall of humanity. Sequels are meant to build upon what was established and are a great opportunity to introduce new characters like Elle Fanning’s Tomorrow.

Christopher Nolan is being linked with umpteen different films at the moment – perhaps it’s best if we rule some of them out.
Speculation has been rife in the last few weeks as to just what Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan’s next film is going to be. Universal Pictures is distributing the film, and it has a 2026 release. But what on earth is it?
Is it a vampire movie? Is it a sort-of remake of Blue Thunder? Could it be an espionage film? With each day comes a different rumour, and with that in mind, we’ve decided to do something useful. Instead of speculating as to what Nolan’s new movie is, we’ve managed to 100% rule out some projects that he won’t be taking on.

Storage Wars star Brandi Passante is a whole new woman after a shocking split with Jarrod Schulz, and she's showing off her romance with Clifford Beaver, as well as edgy revenge outfits that make jaws drop. In fact, Brandi is nothing like the dour, eye-rolling shrew that viewers saw during her seasons with Jarrod. In a recent Instagram post, Brandi got racy, donning a skimpy football outfit that gave her a true cheerleader look.
Brandi and Jarrod called it quits in 2018, and when their split was announced on the show, it was surprising. They'd hidden their breakup from the world for a couple of years. On Storage Wars, there was obvious tension between the two, but sometimes, they had fun together. Rooting through lockers isn't the most romantic activity, but for years, Brandi and Jarrod seemed to make things work. They ran a thrift shop and raised two children, Payton and Cameron Schulz.

[This story contains spoilers from the Power Book II: Ghost series finale.]
On the very first episode of Power created by Courtney Kemp and executive produced by rapper-turned-tv mogul Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson back in June 2014, there was no way of knowing that the kid in the nice penthouse apartment asking his mother Tasha (Naturi Naughton) if his father James St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), who spoke fluent Spanish, could “hook up” his Spanish homework as she served breakfast was on his way to becoming a drug kingpin. At that point, the young Tariq didn’t even know his father was himself a kingpin known on the streets as Ghost (Hardwick). And that his mother also knew. Michael Rainey Jr. was just a few months from turning 14. Now a decade later, just over a week after turning 24, he’s closed out another series.
When Power Book II: Ghost premiered Sept. 6, 2020, the pandemic had put the whole country and world on a life-turning timeout.

General Hospital has been all over the place lately, but the latest move has some viewers outraged.
The storylines, cast changes, and other issues have put the ABC soap on thin ice with viewers, and it isn’t getting any better.
There had been rumblings that the writers were working on a pairing between Jason (Steve Burton) and Anna (Finola Hughes), but many didn’t think twice after reading the speculation.
However, that all changed when Thursday’s episode ended with Jason grabbing Anna for a kiss.
Immediately, social media lit up, and it wasn’t with praise.
Why would the writers think a Jason and Anna pairing, affair, or whatever they plan to do would work?
General Hospital viewers weigh in on Jason and Anna kiss
Since Thursday’s General Hospital aired, X has been on fire with comments and outrage over Jason and Anna kissing while imprisoned at Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) compound.

Not since 2011’s Born This Way has Lady Gaga found a musical project big and brawny enough to contain her penchant for vocal bluster and over-the-top theatricality. But the singer turned actress’s role as Harley Quinn in Todd Phillips’s Joker: Folie à Deux and its companion album, Harlequin, seem to have given her all of the elbow room she needs to let her freak flag fly.
Harlequin, whose title refers to the stock pantomime figure after which Harley Quinn was named, aptly begins with an interpretation of “Good Morning,” originally sung by Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney, whose agile performances captured the heady elation of a romantic all-nighter. Gaga is no Frances Gumm, but she imbues a newly written opening verse with a dewy-eyed wonder. Then, though, she quickly reverts to the kind of mannered affectations that marred her jazz albums with Tony Bennett.

Steve Martin and Martin Short keep making appearances to promote Only Murders in the Building/their never-ending game of over-the-top animosity. Clifford is an extraordinary movie, and no, I’m not talking about the one with the big red dog, but rather the one where a nearly forty-year-old Martin Short plays a psychotic ten-year-old. The film is a simple one, telling the story of a young boy who is forced to stay with his uncle while his parents are on a business trip in Honolulu, but it is positively weird, full of unhinged dark comedy, slapstick, and extremely quotable moments. I still pull out, “Look at me like a human boy!” on a semi-regular basis. The film certainly isn’t for everyone, but Martin Short always believed it would be appreciated.
“I never saw any of these things that didn’t work out with the public as failures. [1994 comedy co-starring Charles Grodin] Clifford is a perfect example,” Short told THR. “That was a film that the critics hated, and no one saw but I thought was fabulous.

Last year, New York dispersed about $124 million in tax credits to various entities belonging to Paramount Global as a reward for 10 projects that were shot in the state. Those productions — which encompassed an array of feature films, TV series and even a talk show, including Clifford the Big Red Dog, Blue Bloods and The Drew Barrymore Show — invested nearly $425 million in the region through labor and other costs.
California, meanwhile, saw just $71 million in spending from Paramount Global for titles that were granted credits in 2023 to film in the area. The figure was a far cry from the $295 million the company spent for projects that were awarded incentives just three years earlier. It’s the latest in a trend of productions turning away from the Golden State and toward other jurisdictions that are steadily beefing up their tax relief programs in bids to attract Hollywood money.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire pays tribute to Ivan Reitman in a subtle nod to his 1973 film, Cannibal Girls. Cannibal Girls follows a couple who are terrorized by a group of beautiful, cannibalistic women. The Cannibal Girls reference in Frozen Empire is the third to occur in the Ghostbusters franchise.
It may be subtle, but one line from Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is actually the perfect nod to Ghostbusters director, Ivan Reitman. Over the years, Reitman has been at the very core of every Ghostbusters movie. In 1984, Reitman directed and produced the very first Ghostbusters movie. Five years later, he returned for Ghostbusters II. From there, he continued to be a producer on every subsequent Ghostbusters film, including the 2016 remake and the two modern-day reboots starring McKenna Grace. Though Reitman passed away in 2022, his legacy remains in one humorous way in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

Warning: This Doctor Who review contains spoilers.
As “The Legend of Ruby Sunday” reached its cliffhanger ending, we witnessed the ancient alien Sutekh return to full power. A formidable foe even in a weakened state, the prospect of seeing the self-styled God of Death unleashed was certainly tantalising. What would he do?
The answer, it turns out, is the obvious one – kill everything in the universe.
“Empire of Death” is a solidly entertaining episode. It pays off most of the major mysteries set up since last year’s specials, it gives the Doctor and Ruby a massive challenge to solve, an iconic villain to beat, and lots of big emotions. There are plenty of good scenes and one really great one. Everyone gives it their all, especially the two leads.
That said, there’s something about the episode that feels a little perfunctory, as if it’s ticking off the...

A still image from former President Donald Trump’s interview with “Fox & Friends Weekend.” (Still frame via broadcast)
Former President Donald Trump’s first television interview since his conviction in a New York state criminal case brought 1.174 million viewers to the Fox News Channel on Sunday, according to Nielsen data reviewed by The Desk.
During the interview, Trump asserted that his conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records and other criminal activity amounted to a “weaponization” of the legal system, which he characterized as “a very dangerous thing.”
The case centered around business documents Trump and others altered in order to conceal payments made to adult film star Stephanie Clifford, better known by her screen name “Stormy Daniels.” Trump paid Clifford through his then-personal attorney, Michael Cohen, then reimbursed Cohen under the guise of “legal expenses.”
Trump has maintained his innocence in the matter. Cohen testified against the former president last month.

Following the two-hour premiere of “America’s Got Talent” season 19 on May 28, we asked You, “Who was your favorite act?” Among the acts that performed for the judges in Auditions 1 were dance group Los Osos High School, two-year-old mathematician Baby Dev, magician Sam Huang, dog act Daisy May & Clifford, ballet dancer Ashlee Montague, country singer Reyna Roberts, contortionist Arshiya, world record holder Chris Ivan, and body performer Tonikaku.
Based on your votes in our Auditions 1 poll, the dancers of Los Osos High School were your resounding favorite with over 67% popularity. The group was the very first act to take the stage for the new season and wowed the judges with what Heidi Klum called a “kaleidoscope” of a routine, even though she was ultimately on the fence. She thought that while it was good, they could “up the choreography a little bit.” Howie Mandel agreed with Heidi and voted “no” in...

That’s five whole names! In one week! Far too many, if you ask us. With that in mind, here’s everyone Not cast in the third Knives Out Mystery (so far). Feel free to comment below if we’ve missed anyone.

If there’s one thing that could pull the famously retired actor out of, well, retirement, surely it would be a new Knives Out? We’re not actors, but even we’d bite...

“America’s Got Talent” season 19 kicked off Tuesday, May 28 with a two-hour premiere. Once again, this season’s hopefuls are judged by executive producer Simon Cowell on end of the dais and Howie Mandel on the other. Seated in the middle are Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara, with Terry Crews on stage as the lively host.
In the audition phase of “AGT,” an act needs at least three of the four judges to give them a “yes” vote to advance to the next round. If two or more judges buzz the act, they are immediately eliminated. An alpha male human trafficker, who possesses the worst qualities a man could have. It’d seem Byron Stallings could be Andrew Tate 2.0 if only he started a podcast of his own. This article contains major spoilers for Sugar episode 6.
Virtually every “spoiler-free” Sugar review that ran in advance of the Colin Farrell-starring detective series’ premiere on Apple TV+ mentioned that the project featured a big twist. While one might consider it poor taste to “spoil” that a story even contains an enormous twist, it’s hard to blame the reviewers on this one.
The twist at the center of Sugar is so wild, so out-of-left-field, and so paradigm-shifting, that it’s almost impossible not to acknowledge. It would be like trying to write about Clifford the Big Red Dog while avoiding the fact that it contains a big red dog. The problem with letting the audience know that a big twist was coming, however, is that it took forever for the show to reveal it. Four whole weeks after the two-part April 5 premiere, in fact!

Apple TV+’s Sugar packs a lot into episode three, “Shibuya Crossing,” including more teasers as to John Sugar’s real mission. The episode also introduces John’s associates.
Episode three opens with John (Colin Farrell) confessing he’s been having nightmares. Not even very good boy Wiley the dog’s presence can calm John’s turbulent thoughts. He wakes and checks in with Ruby (Kirby), reporting that Wiley snores and kicks in his sleep. Small talk complete, Ruby confirms she has had no updates about Olivia Siegel.
Ruby’s still against John taking on this case, and John doesn’t know why. He admits to himself that it might be because of his shaking hand and bad dreams. However, he continues to tell himself he’s fine.
Melanie Matthews (Amy Ryan) is also preparing for her day when Carmen Vasquez’s sister,...

Scholastic Entertainment has unveiled a deal to invest $186 million in the Canadian animation studio 9 Story Media Group.
A definitive agreement between the two companies would see Scholastic — whose Hollywood projects include Sony’s Goosebumps movies and the live-action/animation hybrid adaptation of Clifford the Big Red Dog for Paramount — acquire 100 percent of the economic interests and a minority of voting rights in Toronto-based 9 Story.
The transaction, already approved by 9 Story shareholders and board members, is expected to close in Scholastic’s fiscal quarter beginning June 1, 2024.
Vince Commisso, president and CEO of 9 Story, said in a statement on Tuesday: “We’ve been fortunate to work with Scholastic for decades, going back to my own start with the family-favorite production, The Magic School Bus. The combination of our global studios, sales and distribution capabilities with Scholastic’s existing media business, iconic name and unique capabilities opens even more opportunities to deliver...

Starz is heading down south with Uncle Clifford.
The Lionsgate-backed premium cable network has ordered Down in the Valley, a half-hour docuseries exploring the Deep South with P-Valley star Nicco Annan set to host. The six-episode series will launch at a date to be determined this year and explore the people, music, culture and stories of the South, per Starz, as the show will feature everything from strip clubs to sex workshops, rap performances and ancient hoodoo rituals.
The order for Down in the Valley arrives as P-Valley — from creator Katori Hall — has been off the air for nearly two years. Sources say production on P-Valley is expected to resume later this year, though the show is not expected to air in 2024.
“P-Valley has authentically captured Southern Black culture in our fictional world of Chuccalisa and piqued the curiosity of our Pynk Posse to learn more,” said Kathryn Busby,...

The best song Christian Karlsson has ever made could be sitting on a hard drive somewhere, unfinished and completely forgotten by the producer and DJ who performs as Galantis. It’s been four years since his last album, Church, and in that time he’s picked up and put down hundreds of raw demos that he has crafted on a near daily basis. “There’s so much music all the time. I mean, I write songs every day and so many people that are in my team write songs every day,...
