Popular anime series “Kaiju No. 8” may have just concluded its inaugural season on Crunchyroll, and the streaming service announced over the weekend that production is already underway on a sequel season.

Crunchyroll will broadcast the series’ return in 200 territitories and countries worldwide, with broadcast information Tba.

Production I.G (Psycho-Pass; Ghost in the Shell) animates the series, with kaiju artwork and design supervision by Studio Khara (Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition, Shin Godzilla (Pre Visualization Development)). The anime is adapted from the original manga created by Naoya Matsumoto.

Hit Japanese anime series Kaiju No. 8 is getting a second season. Shortly after the credits rolled on the show’s season-one finale Saturday, global specialty streamer Crunchyroll revealed that work is already underway at the storied Japanese anime studio Production I.G for a follow-up story arc. Crunchyroll says it will stream the season two return of Kaiji No. 8 in over 200 countries, with the specific release plans to be revealed at a later date.

Kaiju No. 8 is adapted from the original manga created by Naoya Matsumoto. The show is animated by Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell) with kaiju artwork and design supervision by Studio Khara (Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition, Shin Godzilla).

Crunchyroll is carving out a monster-sized home for the launch of the eagerly anticipated Kaiju No. 8. Titled Pokémon: Paldean Winds, Wit Studio will be handling the latest Pokémon miniseries.

The studio behind earlier seasons of Attack on Titan, Ranking of Kings, and Vinland Saga was confirmed as a collaborator on the new miniseries via X (formerly Twitter). The project will be staffed by Director Ryouhei Takeshita [Jujutsu Kaisen], scriptwriters Teruko Utsumi [Kakegurui] and Keisuke Satou, color designer Ayaka Nakamura [Pokemon: Hisuian Snow], and art director Yuuki Funagakure [Mondaiji]. 3d director Shigenori Hirozumi [Attack on Titan], Yuuki Kawashita [Vinland Saga], prolific sound director Masafumi Mima and editor Aya Hida [Attack on Titan], and musician Kevin Penkin also comprise the team.

Attack on Titan season two has finally gotten a premiere date! During the "Shingeki Matsuri" event that took place over the weekend, it was announced that season two of Attack on Titan will premiere in the spring 2017. They also released an Attack on Titan promo image, along with a list of the cast and crew who will be involved with the second season.

Fans have been waiting for this series for way too long. I’m still bummed that we have to continue to wait until 2017. and all I have to say is that season two better be worth the wait and the patience. The series was supposed to premiere this year, but it was postponed.
