- She has related the story of receiving a phone call from a journalist who asked her if she was "the daughter of Laurel and Hardy."
- She was married to Rand Brooks, who played Scarlett O'Hara's first husband, Charles, in Gone With The Wind (1939), then sidekick Lucky Jenkins in the Hopalong Cassidy western series. She then married writer-actor Tony Hawes.
- Lois Laurel was the only daughter of Stan Laurel. Her mother was the first of the comedian's four wife's, silent movie actress Lois Neilson.

- Made a cameo appearance in the long running BBC sitcom Last Of the Summer Wine (1973-2010) after writer Roy Clarke found out she was on vacation close to Holmfirth. She appears very briefly as 'Lady in hat' in the series 17 episode Bicycle Bonanza (1995). The older cast members were thrilled when they found out who she was.
