I had the great fortune not to have seen any of the films in the Joe Doake's series if this effort is anything to go by.What I can't make out is if the actor playing Doakes was a bad actor or if he was just pretending.In any event he is absolutely awful.This short is included in a collection of sub par short comedies featuring Shemp Howard.There are 21 altogether.Some are reasonable,but not this one which is a laugh free zone.
