Fans of the MCU had plenty to celebrate when Marvel Studios officially announced who would be joining Robert Downey Jr. in the cast of Avengers: Doomsday. Most notably, Chris Hemsworth will return as Thor along with several actors who starred in either Avengers: Infinity War and/or Avengers: Endgame, including Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, and Tom Hiddleston. However, many people’s Spider-Senses undoubtedly tingled over the absence of several prominent Marvel Cinematic Universe contributors who were not included in the casting news. For instance, one YouTuber was quick to point out in the announcement video’s comments that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man didn’t make the cut. @0Sniix wrote:

Obviously, Holland’s absence in Doomsday is easily explainable, and he will likely join up with the others in 2027’s follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars. MCU fans know that Peter Parker (Holland) had...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer is reportedly set to release sooner rather than later after principal photography was officially completed during the back half of 2024. However, Disney might have just pulled the plug on the exciting news. McU's upcoming reboot of Marvel's First Family is set to hit theaters in July 2025, so fans are anxiously awaiting the first official look at the film. And while some lucky convention attendees have already seen footage, an official trailer could make its way online at some point next month.
It was reported during the past weekend by trailer insider CrypticHDQuality that Marvel Studios was planning on debuting the first trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps during the NFL Super Bowl, which takes place on Feb. 9, 2025. Due to the fact that Disney likes to market their big tentpole projects at the annual sporting event, the aforementioned report was nothing shocking for fans of the franchise.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is currently filming at Durdle Door in Dorset, England, and Joseph Quinn's Johnny Storm/Human Torch has been spotted in full costume.
Based on what little we see here, Johnny walks down the beach alone before moodily standing on the coast while watching the tide come in. It's hard to say where this is meant to be doubling for, though the Torch may have found his way to the UK. The iconic tourist location may also be doubling for an alien planet.
If we're lucky, the rest of Marvel's First Family will also be spotted suited up in the coming weeks. The only other member of the team spotted since shooting started is The Thing who, at the time, was being brought to life with a practical costume.

It seems The Fantastic Four: First Steps has taken a break from filming, with star Vanessa Kirby attending the Toronto International Film Festival to promote her new film, Ron Howard's Eden, which also stars Ana de Armas and Sydney Sweeney.
The Mission: Impossible actress - who will play Sue Storm/Invisible Woman in the Marvel Studios reboot - was asked for an update on production on the red carpet of the Eden world premiere, and while she didn't share anything particularly exciting, it sounds like things are going very well and "Marvel's First Family" are all getting on as well as one would hope.
“We love each other so much. I’ve been away from them for two days and I miss them," said Kirby. "We’re having such great time together. I’m really hopeful for the movie and Matt Shakman is amazing and Pedro [Pascal] is heavenly.

The Fantastic Four cast has been confirmed. The Fantastic Four's Galactus has been confirmed. And now, thanks to the McU's mastermind, Kevin Feige himself, The Fantastic Four's shooting start date and setting have finally been confirmed too. In an interview for Marvel's new podcast, handily named The Official Marvel Podcast, Feige revealed that production on director Matt Shakman's (WandaVision) cinematic reboot for Marvel's First Family is set to get underway in July. And what's more, following several heavily 60s inspired teaser posters, Feige has also confirmed that The Fantastic Four will be taking viewers back to the (sadly presumably not web-) swingin' sixties.
When asked whether The Fantastic Four might be a period piece, Feige enthusiastically responded "Yes, yes, very much so — it's a period piece!" Continuing however, the president of Marvel Studios further teased that whilst Shakman's movie will be set in the 60s, that doesn't...

The Fantastic Four's absence in the Infinity Saga can be explained by their being "snapped" during the epic battle against Thanos, according to comic lore. The team's exploration of the multiverse post-Secret Wars and their temporary hiatus from Earth-616 could also explain their absence during the Infinity Saga. The Fantastic Four's history of disappearing for extended periods provides an easy way for the MCU to explain where they were during the events of the Infinity War.

Get ready superfans! After years of waiting, some of Marvel's most influential characters will be getting another crack at the spotlight with the Marvel Cinematic Universe's The Fantastic Four. There have been more than a few film adaptations over the years, such as the 1994 Roger Corman creation, the 2005 film, and its 2007 sequel, and the totally beloved by all and definitely not universally maligned Fant4stic. Each adaptation has some high points, but fans have been anxiously awaiting a superior, comic-accurate adaptation of Marvel's so-called "First Family".

Pedro Pascal is set to lead Marvel’s Fantastic Four – and there’s a strong ensemble cast should these rumours prove to be accurate.
Marvel Studios sits in the eye of a rumour whirlwind at the moment, following months of internal turbulence that we covered here.
Externally, while the strikes have been disruptive, they’ve also given the studio the opportunity to reconfigure some of its upcoming projects. The general consensus following the release of The Marvels is that the company is in some sort of terminal decline, but it has yet to play the strongest cards in its hand. Those being movies based on iconic and beloved properties X-Men and Fantastic Four.
As far as the latter goes, casting rumours have emerged via reporter Jeff Sneider, who offers a few details on who will be playing Marvel’s ‘First Family’ – and even a little inside news on how the process worked.

Suddenly, Sam must come to terms with her heritage and defeat the beast — or perish.

It has been a while since we last saw Marvel's First Family, the Fantastic Four, on the big screen. We had the critically-maligned 2015 reboot, and before that, we had the divisive early 2000s duology. Even further before that, if you can believe it, we had Roger Corman's unreleased attempt. Kevin Feige and Matt Shakman are hoping to finally make a great movie that the team deserves, even if it'll take a little bit for them to be reintroduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Feige didn't say much about the upcoming MCU slate. After all, why would he? The franchise has relied on speculation and pulling together threads of loose information for years, so why stop now? Regardless, he kept relatively mum about what Shakman, along with co-writers Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer have in store for fans. However, he did make a...

Marvel's "First Family" has had a rocky road to the big screen. Although the characters of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm have delighted Marvel comic book fans for generations, the "Fantastic Four" has never received the cinematic adaptation that they deserve. Unfortunately, these great characters have never been properly utilized. The "Fantastic Four" comics show what it's like to balance superhero responsibilities with familial duties.

“Are you here for an affair, sir?”
It’s one of the great lines in The Graduate, a movie that’s nothing but great lines, written by a New Yorker a year older than Mrs. Robinson. Buck Henry, the man who penned the screenplay, plays the officious, condescending hotel clerk, tormenting Dustin Hoffman with a routine question about whether he’s there to attend a wedding reception. It’s a great single-scene breakout role for Buck Henry — he wouldn’t have been comfortable playing one of the participants in the affair.

Though Marvel Studios is staying tight-lipped on their plans for the Fantastic Four, a new video from Kevin Feige features a sly reference to Disney’s newly acquired superhero team.
In the clip revealed at least night’s Saturn Awards, Feige introduces an alternate post-credits scene from 2008’s Iron Man, in which Nick Fury alludes to both Spider-Man and the X-Men. But look in the background as Feige speaks, and you’ll notice a subtler nod to another former Fox property. Specifically, on the left of the screen, right above the model Infinity Gauntlet, is a poster displaying the cover to 1961’s The Fantastic Four #1, the comic book debut of Marvel’s First Family.

Last month, the Disney/Fox deal finally came into effect, giving Marvel Studios access to an overwhelming array of new comic book properties. And while a lot of fans are keen to see what Kevin Feige and his team does with the X-Men, a new piece from ComicBook.com makes a convincing case that we’re likely to see the Fantastic Four in the McU first.
For one thing, Fox’s take on the mutant saga still has a couple of movies left to go. For one thing, Fox’s take on the mutant saga still has a couple of movies left to go. In a decade of countless record-breaking hits in the genre, one superhero movie stands out for its total failure. 2015’s Fantastic Four was Fox’s third attempt to bring Marvel’s First Family to the screen and at first we thought they were onto something with director Josh Trank’s darker take on the team. However, the end result was an ugly, studio-mangled mess. Fans aren’t alone in hating it, though, as it seems Trank himself agrees.
In response to Captain Marvel‘s historic opening weekend, following speculation that it might flop, music video director Joseph Kahn argued that “no superhero movie fails.” Trank then saw an opportunity to prove him wrong. “Hold my beer,” the filmmaker succinctly tweeted, going viral in the process.

As the Disney/Fox deal edges ever closer to completion, fans continue to speculate on how Marvel Studios might make use of their newly acquired properties, and while the X-Men and Deadpool have dominated most such conversations, many of us have long assumed that the Fantastic Four will also be factoring into Kevin Feige’s vision for the future.
Sure enough, a source close to We Got This Covered has claimed that the studio does indeed have plans for a movie focused on Marvel’s First Family. Though details are a little vague, it’s said that the film will be based on the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic book series, will feature a team in their 20s or 30s, and will be a cosmic adventure that sees the gang exploring space and the unknown. On top of that, it’s reported that Doctor Doom will not be the villain, which...

The power pair are filling up newsfeeds with their #relationshipgoals content. Is their cosy domesticity the safety blanket we need in 2019?
They are successful, talented, good-looking, happily married, parents of two, and keeping it all together: what’s not to envy about John Krasinski and Emily Blunt? Since they have been stepping out together on the awards circuit, they’ve been generating “most adorable couple in Hollywood” headlines (The Hollywood Reporter even got the exclusive “rare joint interview”), as well as #CoupleGoals hashtags and fashion approval. The most irritating thing about them is that there’s nothing irritating about them.
As moviedom’s First Family, they are perfect casting. Krasinski is the smart dude-next-door: Jim from The Office with added Jack Ryan heroism. Blunt is the refined Brit with kick-ass credentials: Mary Poppins/Young Victoria meets Edge of Tomorrow. Right now, they could probably clean up with a joint-authored vegan cookbook,...

Kevin Hart will star in board game movie Monopoly, with Fantastic Four director Tim Story behind the camera.
Monopoly has just acquired the proverbial Marvin Gardens of a Hollywood movie treatment. While, Hasbro’s iconic board game, in which players aim to achieve financial domination one dice roll at a time, has been the focus of movie plans for quite some time, Lionsgate is finally moving forward with the project, having nabbed a headliner and director.
Kevin Hart is set to star in the Monopoly movie, and he’ll be directed by helmer with whom he has history in Tim Story, reports Deadline. Indeed, Story was the director of signature movies for the comedy superstar, Hart, such as the two Ride Along films and the two Think Like a Man films. Moreover, genre fans will know Story’s work from the previous film franchise iteration of Marvel...

Mostly fans are talking about the future of the X-Men when it comes to the possibilities of Marvel Studios gaining new heroes due to the Disney/Fox merger, but let’s not forget about the Fantastic Four. Marvel’s First Family are arguably more in need of a change of hands as Fox – sorry, guys – have never managed to pull off a great Ff movie after three attempts.
As we know well by now, Ant-Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed is a massive fan of Reed Richard and friends, as he’s voiced his opinions on the potential for an Ant-Man/Fantastic Four crossover, the failed 2015 reboot and his own interest in making an McU outing for the gang.
While speaking to ComicBook.com, Reed was once again asked what he thought about the Fantastic Four becoming part of the franchise. Obviously, he’s excited, but he also proved...

While news of the Fox-Disney merger sent the internet into a flurry of speculation on how upcoming releases like Avengers 4 could bring such cherished properties as X-Men and Fantastic Four into the McU, it’s worth remembering that the deal hasn’t gone through quite yet, suggesting that it may still be some time before this arrangement starts impacting the movies in any considerable way.
That being said, these changes might be coming a little sooner than expected, with a new report mentioning that the deal could be closed by the end of 2018, or more likely, early 2019. This essentially means that Fox’s current toy box of Marvel heroes and villains will be Disney property before the next McU film – Captain Marvel, that is – has made its way to cinemas.
Though it was previously forecast that the deal wouldn’t go through until Spring or early Summer, this...

In the wake of the historic Fox-Disney merger, the internet has been abuzz with theories on how Marvel Studios could integrate their newly acquired properties into the ongoing McU. And while the characters from the more popular X-Men camp have mostly dominated the conversation, there’s no denying the fan interest in seeing the Fantastic Four get one more shot at a sustainable film series.
Take this recent Reddit post, which speculates on how the first McU flick from Marvel’s First Family could start as another period film, à la Captain Marvel and Captain America: The First Avenger, before the flow of time itself is brought into some strange new territory. The theory starts off sounding like a similar origin story to the one depicted in 2005’s Fantastic Four, albeit shifting the narrative back several decades.
“Okay so, it’s late ’50’s to mid ’60’s. Let’s say Howard Stark & S.

Deadpool 2 was packed with fan-pleasing easter eggs and cameos, with the most obvious being the first appearance of X-Men villain Juggernaut since 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand. It turns out that the Merc with a Mouth’s sequel could have also found room for the Fantastic Four as well though, if original director Tim Miller had stuck with the project and not been replaced by David Leitch.
Though we never got to see a Fantastic Four/Deadpool crossover, even on the extended Super Duper Cut home video release, these awesome pieces of concept art seen down below reveal how the characters might’ve appeared. Marvel artist Alexander Lozano shared the work on Instagram, along with some information about how Miller envisioned the heroes.
First off, instead of recasting Marvel’s First Family, the stars of 2015’s reboot would’ve reprised their roles – so that’s Miles Teller, Kate Mara,...

The recent box office success of The Boss firmly establishes Melissa McCarthy as the current queen of movie comedies (Amy Schumer could be a new contender after an impressive debut last Summer with Trainwreck), but let us think back about those other funny ladies of filmdom. So while we’re enjoying the female reboot/re-imagining of Ghostbusters and those Bad Moms, here’s a top ten list that will hopefully inspire lots of laughter and cause you to search out some classic comedies. It’s tough to narrow them down to ten, but we’ll do our best, beginning with… 10. Eve Arden The droll Ms. Arden represents the comic sidekicks who will attempt to puncture the pomposity of the leading ladies with a well-placed wisecrack (see also the great Thelma Ritter in Rear Window). Her career began in the early 1930’s with great bit roles in Stage Door and Dancing Lady.

Get this: Gilda's Club -- the cancer support group named for Gilda Radner, who once claimed that cancer is "an elite club I'd rather not belong to" -- is getting a new name. The reason? People born after 1989 don't know who Gilda Radner is. Uh, interesting: 20-year-olds seem to know who John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, and Dan Aykroyd are, but Gilda Radner, arguably the most original and explosive talent in SNL history, slides under the radar? This is unspeakable news in the worst way possible.
Quick, please memorize these six points and tell them to everybody you know who is born in the '90s. This is an important performer for many reasons. Save the advanced knowledge about her Toronto Godspell stint, Second City, Candy Slice, her Baba Wawa impersonation that used to infuriate Barbara Walters, First Family, The Woman In Red, and the failure of Haunted Honeymoon for semi-advanced children.

Bill Hader is, in my opinion, one of the funniest people working in entertainment today. Both his comedic tone and sense of timing make me laugh more than most anyone, or anything, in either film or television. I mean, if his SNL impersonation of John Malkovich doesn’t even remotely strike your fancy, there’s really nothing I can say.
While speaking to ThePlaylist, the actor/comedian revealed that he has two new films on the way, both of which could be departures for him.
The first of these is titled Henchman. The script is written by Owen Egerton and Chris Mass, with additional work by Hader and potential director Akiva Schaffer (The Lonely Island member, SNL director, Hot Rod). He described it with this quote:
“The film is about two guys who don’t realize it, but they’re two henchman for like the badguy in a ‘Bourne’ movie...
