Right when Punch and her pimp enter the party, the editor announces them at the door. They cut to a woman on the stairs, and Punch's leopard skin leotard-clad legs are stretched out behind her. They have a scene on the stairs a few minutes later.
When Jonathan pitches his pimp story, the magazine editor is nervous about another reporter who has failed to turn in a story, and says the issue closes on Monday. When he agrees to run Jonathan's story, he warns him that he must turn it in by Monday morning. No editor would ever allow a reporter to turn in the first draft of an important cover story on the day the magazine goes to press, and not have a backup story ready.
Fast Black bursts into the motel room to stop the John from assaulting his prostitute; in actuality he would have not been charged with any crime. The man had a massive heart attack that killed him, plus he was viciously assaulting someone when Black intervened, so in a court of law that would not have been classified as murder.
