Recently, Mark Duplass announced the long-awaited threequel to the found footage series Creep, in which he plays a serial killer who tricks people into recording their own murders. However, instead of a new feature film, fans will get a six-part TV miniseries with each episode featuring a fresh victim. It drops on AMC+ and Shudder on November 15, making now the perfect time to revisit the original movies.

Duplass is best known for comedic dramas where dysfunctional adults confront their often-embarrassing relationship issues. With Creep, he and co-creator Patrick Brice have brilliantly converted this content into horror stories about a murderer who weaponizes emotional vulnerability and "therapy-speak" to shame his unwitting victims into sticking around long enough to get killed. Terry Gilliam's 1995 film "12 Monkeys" is a time travel story that was extrapolated from Chris Marker's celebrated 1962 short film "La Jetée," only expanded to fit into 129 minutes. In "12 Monkeys," Bruce Willis plays James Cole, a man trapped in the hellscape of the year 2035. Years before, a virus wiped out most of humankind, forcing the survivors into chasms underground. James is selected to go back in time to uncover information about the impending virus, hoping to find a cure.

Cole, however, is dizzy and disconnected when he travels through time to the year 1990. His confusing stories about coming from the future leave those in the present suspecting that he's mentally ill. Cole is committed to a mental asylum, doped up on drugs, and concerned about the future of his mission. While in the asylum, Cole meets an inmate named Jeffrey Goines (Brad Pitt), a twitchy, paranoid chatterbox who raves about vast government conspiracies.

The premise for "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" is a little complex for the non-Trekkie, but ripe for drama when one delves in.

The titular station, Deep Space Nine, was in orbit around the non-Federation world of Bajor. For the past several decades, Bajor had been militarily occupied by the Nazi-like Cardassians, a species that regularly enslaved and mass-murdered Bajoran citizens. At the outset of the series, the Cardassian occupation had just ended, and Bajor inherited their disused station. In order to aid the Bajoran restoration, Starfleet was assigned to run Deep Space Nine and to oversee the rebuilding of Bajor's government (which was already tilting dangerously close to a corrupt theocracy).

The remarkable thing about Brad Pitt, who turns 60 on December 18, isn’t the 85 and counting IMDb acting credits under his belt, although that’s a pretty impressive number.

A brand new “The Boys” spinoff series, the second season of “Wheel of Time” and football highlight a robust lineup of new movies and shows coming to Amazon Prime Video in September. “Gen V,” a spinoff of “The Boys” set at a college, premieres on Sept. 29, while new episodes of “The Wheel of Time” Season 2 are rolling out all month long after the season premiere on Sept. 1.

Thursday Night Football is streaming starting Sept. 14, and a whole host of library movies worth checking out – from “Four Weddings and a Funeral” to “Dracula” to “10 Things I Hate About You” – are now streaming.

There’s also the premiere of the original film “Cassandro” starring Gael Garcia Bernal as a gay wrestler, and the acclaimed drama “A Thousand and One” comes to Prime Video on Sept. 19.

With its list of new releases for May 2023, Amazon Prime Video is increasing its global reach.

The streamer’s biggest original offering this month is a German series. Hohlbeins’ – The Gryphon, based on the works of Wolfgang Holhlbein, will present a sprawling fantasy tale about three teens discovering a fantastical world called The Black Tower where “the Gryphon, a world-devouring monster, mercilessly subjugates all living creatures.”

The only other original title of note in May is Freevee comedy Primo on the 19th. Written by author and journalist Shea Serrano and produced by Michael Schur (The Good Place), this coming-of-age series will follow a teenager balancing “college aspirations, societal expectations, and a hectic home life on the south side of San Antonio.”

The free streaming platform Freevee will debut its original bilingual drama “Casa Grande” on May 1. The saga follows two families in Northern California, exposing the privileged world of wealthy landowners and the undocumented migrants who toil on their behalf. There’s no question Hulu wants to get its viewers in the Halloween mood — the streaming service will add a fresh slate of horror movies to its collection once October hits. In addition to watching Jigsaw psychologically torture victims in “Saw,” “Saw 2” and “Saw 6,” audiences will also be able to see the original Hill House in the 1963 thriller “The Haunting.” For those in the mood for a classic, horror favorites from Alfred Hitchcock will also become available come Oct. 1, including “Rear Window,” “Psycho” and “The Birds.”

Spooky season is upon us, and Hulu is getting into the spirit with a number of horror or Halloween-themed offerings on its October line-up.

Along with Hulu originals like the horror anthology “Into the Dark” and the second season of Stephen King’s “Castle Rock,” the streamer is also offering films from the “Saw,” “Blade” and “Hellraiser” franchises beginning next month. For the more faint of heart, Hulu is also offering three seasons of Food Network’s “Halloween Wars” and the surely adorable “Kids Halloween Baking Championship.”

Not specifically Halloween-themed, but potentially haunting: All six seasons of the original run of “The Hills” will be available to stream on Oct. 1 for those looking to revisit the halcyon days of reality television and questionable late-aughts fashion.

Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that five original shows will be debuting new episodes on the streaming service in September. Among these are the first seasons of the groundbreaking animated series “Undone,” which will be available in both 4K and Hrd, and the German import “Chris Tall Presentes,” an unscripted series starring the comedian. Another animated series, “Niko And The Sword of Light,” returns for a sophomore season. And “Transparent” will sign off with a sung finale.

The Amazon original film “Late Night” will start streaming justt a few months after its successful theatrical run. Mindy Kaling both wrote and starred in this wry look at the world of TV, with Emma Thompson stealing scenes as the beleaguered host of a failing talk show.

Amazon is out with its list of new additions coming to Prime Video next month, and you’ll want to mark your calendar for the epic musical finale of “Transparent,” coming Sept. 27.

“Chris Tall Presents…” — the first unscripted German Amazon Original which features six episodes of the comedian performing stand-up and introducing his friends as guests — will premiere at a date still to be determined. The same is the case for “Family Man,” a new Amazon Original series which, according to the streaming giant, tells the story of a middle-class man who works for a special cell of the National Investigation Agency.

Other Prime Originals include the first seasons of “El Corazón de Sergio Ramos,” about the Spanish soccer player, and the animated series “Undone.” “Rango,” “Legally Blonde” and “Saturday Night Fever” are among some of the already released movies that will now be available on Prime.

Juliette Lewis is set for a guest-starring role in The Conners, ABC’s spinoff of its revived-then-canceled comedy hit Roseanne.

Lewis will appear opposite Roseanne alum Johnny Galecki’s David as Blue, David’s girlfriend who was referenced last season on the Roseanne revival.

Lewis first shared the news on Instagram with a photo of herself seated on the Conners’ couch between Galecki and star and executive producer Sara Gilbert. See it below.

USA Network gave a straight-to-series order to Jason Bourne offshoot Treadstone, which may get international deal with Amazon.

Jason Bourne may be done at the cinema for now but some of the American super soldier's buddies (and enemies) are coming to television.

USA Network gave a straight-to-series order to Treadstone, a Jason Bourne spinoff covering Operation Treadstone, the fictional (or so we think and hope) CIA black ops program that turned Jason Bourne into an amnesiac killing machine.

Heroes creator Tim Kring will serve as showrunner and writer on Treadstone, which showcases the formation of the franchise's CIA black ops program, following the exploits of its sleeper agents, activated for stealthy missions around the world. Production is set to begin in 2019. There is no potential release date lined up yet.

Hdnet Movies has announced the complete line-up for "Rob Zombie's 13 Nights of Halloween," hosted by the horror icon himself, kicking off Thursday, Oct. 19 with his hit film "The Devil's Rejects" at 9pE.

Other films featured during the holiday stunt, which culminates in a 24-hour marathon on Halloween, include Wes Craven's "The Last House on the Left," Jonathan Demme's "The Silence of the Lambs," Steve McQueen in the original 1958 "The Blob" and more.

Since breaking out over 20 years ago in "Thelma & Louise," Brad Pitt has been difficult to miss.

Movie characters may seem more glamorous than you and me, but they've gotta eat. And you know who eats a lot in movies? Brad Pitt. And unlike the rest of us, even in comic moments, he looks good doing it (shocker).

Killing Them Softly, which of course was initially called Cogan’s Trade, follows the director’s trend of making crime pictures: adapted from George V Higgins’ classic 1974 crime novel, the film follows Brad Pitt’s enforcer Jackie Cogan who is called upon to clean up after a high-stakes card game is heisted. There is no doubt potential for Driver style stylised hyper-violence, and the tacky rename does imply something more generically crass than we will probably get, but the opportunity to see such a plot through Dominik’s own artistic filter is hugely intriguing.
