This is an anime serial depended on the novel Daddy-long-Legs by Jean Webster. The story in the anime differs from the original novel in some ways, however it keeps many details respectively.
This is the story of an orphan girl, Judy Abbott. She lives is a dark and gloomy John Grier orphanage. But she never loses her sunny soul. She is very good at writing, some day, a trustee reads her ironic article and agrees to send her to a high school (in the novel he sends Judy to a college instead). But he has two conditions, his identity will keep a secret and he is known John Smith by Judy, and he wants Judy to write him a letter about her life and her progress every month. The anime covers Judy's 3 years in Lincoln Memorial High School. She doesn't tell anyone that she is an orphan. So she always thinks herself a liar and feels heartbroken because she cannot confront this truth. She falls in love with her roommate Julia's strange uncle Jervis Pendleton. She struggles to get a scholarship for university, she fights to survive and live on her own. And she always manages a smile.
This is a very powerful anime that touches your heart and your life. It is full of emotion and joy. While following Judy's story, you laugh and cry with her. And when finally she wins her battle to herself and open up herself to others, you simply respect her.
This is also a very funny anime that also includes sweet love stories. But its motto is freedom, justice and love. I am so glad to have Judy with me through my life. I recommend you to cheer up with Judy and fight for your goals just like her.

When I first went to North Cyprus as a child visiting my family i came upon this series whilst watching TRT television and at its premiere release enjoyed the bubbly characters and the sporadic comical and emotional situations around for which the series revolves and one in which children can enjoy and relate to becoming entranced in to the show.
Until recently i could not remember its name and by luck and hard searching found it on the internet and now I am happy I can put a name to it and know more about the background to the series such as the fact of it being based on a children's novel.
The characters are well written, executed and deep that captures emotion and feeling as reflected and embedded in the great Japanese animation that all works within the programme
The series evolves very well as it progresses. Visually it also captivates the emotions of people making you feel as if you are reading the novel which makes it in my opinion a Manga epic with great presentation and music. This show gave me happy memories and it will not disappoint.

Daddy Long Legs is based on a novel with the same name by Jean Webster. It is categorized as children literature and has some fairy-tale characteristics. However, it is a story portrayed in such details sometimes, that takes you to the less visited corners of your heart. It stays true to the human feelings of sorrow, pain, failure, joy, self-esteem and strength and makes you to relive them. It beautifully shows how Judy lives in the present and how enjoyable that can be. She is conscious about herself and her surroundings and willingly takes responsibility, makes decisions and acts upon them.
