Disney’s planned Tangled live-action remake may have found the perfect actress to play Mother Gothel! Here’s what we know!
Like it or not, Disney’s live-action remakes aren’t going away. The company seems obsessed with making a live-action version of just about every major animated movie in its catalog. It’s not just the classics like Snow White, The Little Mermaid, or Beauty and the Beast either.
Moana is shooting a live-action version with Dwayne Johnson reprising his role as Maui. This summer sees the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie. Disney is also planning a version of Tangled, which makes sense as the 2010 film was one of the bigger hits of that decade.

On a recent episode of ABC’s 911, Bold and the Beautiful alum Jennifer Finnigan guest starred with a familiar face—her real-life husband, Jonathan Silverman. They have been together for 20 years and married for roughly 17 years. So, it was a lot of fun to see them play a contentious couple on the hit Ryan Murphy series that moved from Fox to ABC this season.
Divorce 2024 Style
What was fun about this particular guest star appearance was knowing that Finnigan and Silverman were married in real life. In the episode of 911 titled “Confessions,” they were a husband and wife negotiating a tricky divorce. And, of course, it was messy, toxic, and chaotic.
Silverman’s character had hooked up with his attorney. On top of that, every time he sneezed, Finnigan’s character knew he was lying. That was his big tell. Unfortunately, for the husband, that would be his undoing.

Agatha All Along proved early on it's unlike other shows in the MCU. One scene in the first episode challenged a Disney taboo.
Agatha All Along has almost finished its run, but its dark themes and engaging characters created a cult following. Kathryn Hahn previously asserted the show wouldn't get a second season, but Agatha could still return in another MCU show or film. Her ruthlessness and shamelessness make her a formidable villain, even a Big Bad like Dormammu, Hela, or Dar-Benn. Hahn told the Jennifer Hudson Show she proved her commitment to the role with one risqu moment in the first episode. Hahn broke down that sequence, revealing its description in the screenplay was different from what they filmed for the episode.

Jill Hennessy's exit from Law & Order as Claire Kincaid was due to a fear of being typecast after three seasons. Kincaid's shocking death in a car accident on the show impacted characters long after she left, especially Briscoe. Hennessy has since diversified her acting roles in movies and TV, including starring in Crossing Jordan and creating The Acting Class.
Here's Claire Kincaid's shocking exit from Law & Order explained. The original series of Law & Order arrived in 1990 and would spawn a robust franchise that runs to this day. The show is a procedural with a unique structure, with the first half of a typical episode following detectives investigating a case and arresting a suspect. The second half then follows efforts by the District Attorney's office to prosecute said suspects for their crimes. Law & Order came to an end in 2010 after 20 seasons and a staggering 456 episodes.

Sony Pictures Television is shuttering its TriStar TV banner.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that TriStar TV exec vp Jennifer Turner and senior vp development Nicole Norwood are leaving as the division is being folded into the larger Sony TV fold. No additional layoffs are expected to come as part of the move.
Reps for Sony declined comment.
The decision to absorb TriStar TV into the larger Sony Pictures Television fold comes at a time of industry-wide consolidation as streamers, networks and studios alike right-size their programming and staffing needs in an era of belt-tightening following the end of the Peak TV phenomenon.
TriStar TV’s mission was to champion diverse, authentic characters and underrepresented voices. Those values have since been incorporated into the larger studio, overseen by Katherine Pope, to whom Turner reported. Sony Pictures Television Studios’ drama department will now oversee the development of current TriStar TV projects.

Heroes was a surprising show in the early 2000s from producer Tim Kring for both its genre content and serialization. The character of Claire Bennet was integral to the story, but she wasn't a damsel in distress and was instead striving for autonomy. Her first heroic "mission" involved protecting the women in her school from an all-too common kind of predator.
This article discusses scenes of sexual assault and intimate partner violence.
Two years before Iron Man would vault ensemble superhero universes into the highest echelons of pop culture, a television show on NBC tried to assemble its own Avengers. Outside of Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery’s New York headquarters, a crowd of striking actors and supporting union members stretched across the street Thursday. The chant “one day longer, one day stronger,” echoed off the walls of a nearby theater and coffee shops. The night before, actors learned that after five days of face-to-face bargaining, Hollywood studio executives decided to step away from the table. To Jill Henessy (Law & Order, Crossing Jordan), the studios’ decision to suspend discussions has only energized the movement.

There are a handful of shows in the history of television that make an impact so large that it shapes TV for decades. Mash, Cheers, Babylon 5, and Buffy are a few that come to mind. But one the most memorable, was a series about people stranded on a desert island no, not Gilligan’s island and no, I am not talking about survivor either. It was of course Lost. Perhaps you’ve heard but it’s been a very Suits summer.
Despite airing its final episode in September 2019, USA Network’s legal procedural Suits has been the talk of the streaming world ever since its first eight seasons arrived to Netflix on June 17. All nine seasons have been streaming on Peacock for far longer but Netflix, as the biggest streaming service, tends to drive the most attention. Per Nielsen, Suits has already broken its own streaming record with 3.7 billion minutes viewed the first week of July and viewership intensity doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
The potential reasons for Suits‘ surge in popularity are manyfold. While the dual WGA and Sga strikes shouldn’t have led to an extended pause in summer content in theory, some studios have juggled their schedules a bit to weather the storm for the fall season. The cast of Apple TV+’s “Platonic” was all smiles and laughs as they celebrated the premiere of their rom-com, but the Wednesday night carpet was clouded by Hollywood’s ongoing writers strike.
Some of the show’s stars including longtime friends Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, and Carla Gallo revealed their thoughts on the face off between the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Pictures and Television Producers while walking the green carpet outside of Regal LA Live theater in downtown Los Angeles.
“I’m personally distressed by not having any sense of how successful these shows and movies we make for streaming services are,” said Rogen. “The secretiveness only makes me think that they’re making way more money off of all of us than they want to share with anybody. These executives are making insane salaries that you would only make if you are running an incredibly profitable business.

Part of what makes the modern classic ABC sci-fi mystery drama "Lost" so unclassifiable is its resistance to genre categorization. Because the show was a network drama in the early 2000s, its early seasons ran over 20 episodes, and even its shorter back half seasons went fairly long too. Those viewers who are used to the modern HBO/Netflix/streamer-of-your-choice model of rarely hitting 10 episodes for a season of genre television may be overwhelmed by the embarrassment of riches promised by a season of "Lost."

Exclusive: Patricia Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta books have completed their long journey to the screen with a blockbuster TV series starring Oscar winner Nicole Kidman in the title role and Oscar nominee Jamie Lee Curtis as the famous forensic pathologist’s sister Dorothy, I have learned. Kidman is executive producing through Blossom Films and Curtis through Comet Pictures the drama, from writer-showrunner Liz Sarnoff (Barry) and Blumhouse Television, which I hear is nearing a two-season straight-to-series order at Prime Video. A rep for the streamer declined comment as deals for the project, to be produced by Amazon Studios and Blumhouse, are still being finalized. It is expected to receive an order for two eight-episode seasons, sources said.

Michael B. Jordan has gone from child star to teenage heartthrob to Hollywood heavyweight before our eyes. An immensely talented actor who had his breakthrough in 2013's "Fruitvale Station," Jordan is one of the most in-demand actors working today. John Oliver was left in hysterics after Stephen Colbert joked that Liz Truss was responsible for “killing the Queen” with her notoriously bad curtsy.
The Tory leader met Queen Elizabeth II on 6 September as one of her first acts as prime minister, during which she was pictured awkwardly curtsying for the monarch.
Two days later, the Queen died at Balmoral, with her funeral taking place on 19 September.
On Monday (7 November), British comedian Oliver was a guest on The Late Show, when Colbert asked him about the UK’s rapid recent run of prime ministers.
Colbert asked him for information about Rishi Sunak, who Oliver said was “wealthy beyond any real realistic expectation”.
“How’s his curtsy?” Colbert asked. “Because I don’t know if you saw Liz Truss’s curtsy, but it killed the queen. Her curtsy killed the queen.”
Oliver burst out in a fit of laughter and banged on the desk in hysterics.

In NBA 2K23, Locker Codes are redeemable phrases that provide players with in-game rewards for free, a feature prevalent throughout the series and continuing in November 2022. A significant focus in NBA 2K23 revolves around gaining cards of superstar basketball athletes in myTeam modes for a unique roster that dominates either online or offline through the court. Additionally, Locker Codes allow players to increase the size of their collection without the somewhat tedious grind that can plague the later stages of NBA 2K23. The introduction of Locker Codes from NBA 2K13 has seen continual monthly updates to these special earnings, bringing a constant incentive for players to utilize this system.
As of November 2022, only one Locker Code is available this month, tied to Halloween-related card packs in NBA 2K23. Following NBA 2K23's available Locker Codes for October, this code may only be redeemed within a certain amount of time before expiring.

Seal Team‘s sixth season may have just started, but after that wild premiere, we need more — and we should be at least getting a movie. Paramount+ announced in February that it would be expanding the military drama’s universe with a stand-alone film, from the series creative team of David Boreanaz, Christopher Chulack, and Spencer Hudnut. So, when we caught up with Hudnut recently, we tried to find out more about it as what the future holds for Seal Team. Plus, get a tease for how the current season ends and more. Can you say anything about the movie? Spencer Hudnut: Not really at the moment. We just wrapped Season 6 a week ago in Jordan. So we’re just kind of focused on having a great launch of this and hopefully giving the fans a great season. And then after that, movie, Season 7, there’s a lot more stories...

So, it’s one of the last Summer weekends as the time for vacation getaways dwindles down to less than a month. And the same goes for the virtual trips at your local multiplex, where we get to look in on a group of old friends who have gathered at a lush spot to chat about the past, plan for the future, eat, drink and be merry thanks to some “substances” and some “party games”. So, could this be a modern-day spin on The Big Chill (minus the opening funeral) with scandals and secret “hook-ups”? Or does it take a dark turn into And Then There Were None territory with an Agatha Christie-style “whodunit” and, more importantly, “who’s next”? That’s just what the characters in this week’s ensemble thriller have to ponder while having to step around and try not to join the Bodies Bodies Bodies.

“Well, Jordan and I will look at a map and then try to figure out where the show will pay for us to go that we really want to go,” says Ian Berger. He’s a supervising producer and segment director for “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” and the co-executive producer, co-writer, and director of “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah Presents: Jordan Klepper Fingers The Globe – Hungary for Democracy.” It’s not hard to see why they picked Hungary as their destination; it has become American conservatives’ model for how to roll back democracy here at home. Watch out exclusive video interview above.
“I started finding articles about this connection between the American conservative party and their interest in Hungary,” Berger explains. At first he didn’t think much of it, but “then I found out this young Republicans group endorsed [Hungarian president] Viktor Orban, which sounded weird. And then...

The Cannes Film Festival’s iconic red carpet played host to a rare form of protest on Sunday, as a feminist collective unleashed smoke bombs and unrolled a list of murdered women just before the world premiere of Ali Abbasi’s serial-killer drama “Holy Spider.” And if the demonstration’s cause was only too just, its context was all too uncommon, since these protesters were seemingly there to support, not oppose, Abbasi’s violent and disturbing film.
To follow up his Un Certain Regard-winning “Border,” the Iran-born Denmark-based director has burrowed into a chilling bit of true-crime from his native country, reimagining the 2001 case of a religious fanatic who slaughtered 16 young women and using that premise to explore systemic misogyny writ large. He does so by turning the murder thriller upside down, telling a story where the killer’s identify is never in doubt and his intentions are always crystal clear,...

Exclusive: Jill Hennessy is set to star opposite Michael Chiklis in Fox’s straight-to-series crime anthology drama, Accused, executive-produced by Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa and David Shore.
Accused, directed by Michael Cuesta and co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television, is based on the BBC’s BAFTA-winning crime anthology. It opens in a courtroom on the accused, with viewers knowing nothing about their crime or how they ended up on trial. Told from the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks, Accused depicts how an ordinary person gets caught up in an extraordinary situation, ultimately revealing how one wrong turn leads to another, until it’s too late to turn back.
2021 Fox Pilots & Series Orders
Chiklis plays Dr. Scott Corbett, a successful brain surgeon with a seemingly perfect family. He faces the limits of unconditional love when he discovers his teenage son may be planning a violent attack at school.
