During a chat with People, Wayans gave fans a little insight into what they can expect from Scary Movie 6. After the films took a creative detour following their departure, the comedian promised that they're going back to the basics that made the original film such a comedic highlight. Wayans said, "We got the gloves off. We're going R. We're going to have the same fun and the same kind of tone and Wayans flavor that we gave on the first one.

The zany conspiracy comedy Operation Taco Gary’s is set to launch at the European Film Market this year, according to Deadline. The film rights to the comedy has recently been acquired by Archstone Entertainment and the company will be taking it to the EFM to find international distributors. Operation Taco Gary’s made its debut at the Austin Film Festival and stars Simon Rex, known for Red Rocket and Scary Movie 3, and Brenda Song, who has appeared in The Social Network and will be starring alongside Kate Hudson in Running Point.

Amazon MGM Studios’ “Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie” has started principal photography and landed a worldwide theatrical release date of Feb. 20, 2026.

According to Variety, Hotel Tehran will begin production this summer, with the rest of the action thriller's ensemble cast to be announced over the coming weeks. Director Moshe, who helmed the action thriller Bunraku starring Josh Hartnett and the drama film Holly with Ron Livingston, penned the script for the upcoming feature with Mark Bacci (Prisoner's Daughter), based on an original idea by Bazzel Baz (The Blacklist), a former CIA Intelligence Special Operations Group Officer. The director expressed his delight at Neeson's involvement in the upcoming project. "I'm thrilled to welcome Liam Neeson to Hotel Tehran," he said.

It took seven more years before we got Scary Movie 5, with Malcolm D Lee this time directing, and the quality of that film seemed to have driven the franchise into the ground for good.

Eleven years have gone by since the release of a new entry in the Scary Movie horror parody series – but the franchise isn’t going to remain dormant for much longer. Deadline reports that the Miramax label at Paramount, which is now operating under new boss Jonathan Glickman, has given the greenlight to a new Scary Movie sequel, with the plan being to get the film into theatres sometime in 2025.
