But, it has to be said that his most consistently entertaining output falls squarely into the action genre, and as far as Gerard Butler movies go, the action films will always be our favorites… so don’t expect to see The Ugly Truth on this list, but the Jennifer Aniston adventure The Bounty Hunter might scrape by. Following an exceedingly positive reception for its live-action How To Train Your Dragon remake at CinemaCon, Universal Pictures brought out the main cast during its afternoon presentation to officially announce a sequel: How To Train Your Dragon 2.

The sequel will hit theaters June 11, 2027 - with director/writer Dean DeBlois and young stars Mason Thames ("Hiccup") and Nice Parker ("Astrid") all set to return.

The now-confirmed follow-up will adapt the animated sequel of the same name, which was met with widespread critical acclaim upon its release in 2014, and ultimately grossed over $621.5 million globally.

Before we get to that one, the first live-action adaptation opens in theaters June 13, and critics have been absolutely buzzing ever since its worldwide premiere at CinemaCon, so hopes are extremely high for the film's prospects this Summer.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Brawler sees Zack Snyder partner with the UFC's CEO, Dana White, to produce the second movie ever shot in the organization's prestigious octagon. Snyder is co-writing the film, along with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad (who will also executive produce). The trio previously worked together on the Rebel Moon series and 300.

Following the grimdark space opera of his Rebel Moon movies, director Zack Snyder has announced his next project: Brawler. "This is Sparta Peacock!" Zack Snyder's epic historical action film 300 is heading to the NBCUniversal-owned streaming service next month.

Beginning March 1, Peacock subscribers will be able to stream Snyder's 300, a fictionalized retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae in the Greco-Persian Wars, revolving around Butler's King Leonidas, who leads 300 Spartans into battle against the Persian "God-King" Xerxes and his invading army of soldiers that numbers 300,000. The movie is based on the 1998 comic book limited series of the same name by Frank Miller and Lynn Varley. 300 was Snyder's second directorial feature after his 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake.

It is based on the book series by Cressida Cowell and, hopefully, it will continue the original movie’s legacy.

“How to Train Your Dragon“ Storyline:

Everyone knows that Vikings and dragons have been enemies ever since they realized they live on the same planet, on the same isle. This is why the story of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III is so horrendous! He befriended a dragon. No Viking has even done that! It’s unheard of. It’s unacceptable. It’s impossible! Isn’t it?

Not impossible for Hiccup. Not only does he befriend the scary Night Fury dragon named Toothless, but he trains the creature! Who does that? Certainly not a Viking! It’s against all the rules of Viking society!

There have been very few certifiable comic book nerds with an established career as a box office giant as Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill. Both are among the most celebrated, if not incredibly controversial, names on the top 5 list. Even so, Snyder achieved something that has evaded directors for decades – a cult-like following as equally devoted to his work as trolls and dissenters are on tearing him down.

Despite the vitriolic mobs and “Snyder cultists” colonizing every corner of the comic book industry, the director has remained unapologetic about his love for heroes, villains, and the grimdark reality devoid of ethics and morality. It is this love of his that introduced him to the depraved world of Watchmen in his adolescence and that made him fit to adapt the comic as a Hollywood director.

Look, I get it – Christopher Nolan is basically Hollywood’s golden boy right now. Fresh off his Oppenheimer triumph, with those shiny Oscar statues and impressive box office numbers to boot, he seems unstoppable. As fans are seeing the start of James Gunn's Dcu, it's a portrait of diversity. Superman will bring about cosmic wonder, aliens and metahumans fighting on Earth. While Creature Commandos Season 1 has already explored monsters fighting for Amanda Waller's Task Force M.

The latter also introduced the Dcu's Circe, confirming magic is in play. To that point, there is one actor who would be perfect for DC's most underrated supernatural hero: John Constantine. This is none other than Gerard Butler, as he has already showed his acting range for this job thanks to his role as Nick in Den of Thieves 2: Pantera.

300 is a 2007 fantasy war movie directed by Zack Snyder, which is based on a graphic novel of the same name by Frank Miller. The graphic novel and the movie tell the true story of King Leonidas I (Gerard Butler), the King of Sparta who fought in the Greco-Persian Wars in the Fifth Century Bce, roughly 2,500 years ago. When Persian invaders came to conquer Greece, King Leonidas personally led a small contingent of just 300 fighters to meet them at the mountain pass of Thermopylae.

Gladiator II has just crossed a new box office milestone, entering the list of the top-grossing R-rated movies ever. Directed by Ridley Scott, the sword-and-sandal epic serves as a sequel to 2000's Gladiator, following Lucius (Paul Mescal) as he becomes a hero of the Colosseum. Gladiator 2 reviews have been generally positive from critics since the movie's release last November, and the film, which also stars Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal, became available on VOD starting December 24 while remaining available in theaters.

According to new data from The Numbers, Gladiator 2 has now grossed a total of $454 million worldwide, comprising $171 million domestic and $282 million from overseas territories. This means the sequel is now among the top 30 highest-grossing R-rated movies of all time, currently occupying 29th place behind 300 (2007).

Per Deadline, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera has outperformed its expectations by earning $15.5 million in its opening weekend at the domestic box office.
