Netflix has announced the list of films that will be available to stream in July. The list includes new never-before-seen original films, as well as documentaries, comedies, animated titles and some classic movies. Check out some of our favorite new offerings below, along with the complete list of all the new additions.
Read More: Netflix’s Next Big Move? Hacking the Oscars
1. “To the Bone” (available July 14)
Marti Noxon’s feature directorial debut was a hit out of Sundance, where the Lily Collins-starring drama about eating disorders won over audiences for its nimble ability to tell a compelling dramatic story interspersed with well-earned humor. Sketched from Noxon’s own experiences with anorexia and bolstered by a star turn from the always-reliable Collins, the film is both important and entertaining, and it should be able to reach a very wide audience on the streaming platform. Do not miss it.
2. “Punch-Drunk Love” (available July 1)
Paul Thomas Anderson’s lauded 2002 romantic dramedy features Adam Sandler in one of his few “hey, this guy can really act!” roles and includes some of the auteur’s most indelible shots and richest observations about life and love. It’s a modern classic, and now it can be piped right into your home. I’m lookin’ at your Netflix queue and I just wanna smash it. I just wanna fuckin’ smash it with a sledgehammer and squeeze it. It’s so pretty.
3. “Chasing Coral” (available July 14)
Jeff Orlowski won the U.S. Documentary Audience Award at Sundance earlier this year for his newest feature, a stunning documentary about the fight to protect coral reefs from becoming extinct. Featuring breathtaking and distressing underwater footage, the movie puts into perspective just how endangered coral reefs are and tracks the effort to save them.
4. “Lion” (available July 9)
This heart-wrenching true story was an awards season juggernaut earlier this year, featuring stellar turns from Nicole Kidman and Dev Patel. Based on the unbelievable life of young Saroo Brierley, the feature follows his separation from his family and his startling trip back to them many years later, aided by — for real — Google Maps and his own indomitable heart. Bring tissues.
5. “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” (available July 18)
The very first standalone “Star Wars” spinoff follows a motley crew of rogues, criminals, rebels, and scallawags as they attempt to steal the plans to the monstrous Death Star in a bid to really just totally stick it to the Empire and Darth Vader. Knowing how it ends — they get them! and…some other stuff, too! — doesn’t dilute its tension and creativity, and it features a banger of an ensemble cast. Let this one tide you over before the next entry in the rapidly expanding movie universe.
6. “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” (available July 1)
The early part of the month is heavy on kid-leaning classics, from “Free Willy” to “The Mighty Ducks,” but it’s hard to top the potency of Steven Spielberg’s 1982 classic. Gather the whole family around the TV and get heavy on the Reese’s Pieces, and enjoy one of the best films ever made about childhood, friendship, and letting go.
Here are the rest of the incoming films for this July:

"Elementary" (premieres Thurs., Sept. 27 at 10 p.m. Et on CBS) is a new kind of Sherlock Holmes tale, with Jonny Lee Miller as the modern-day Holmes -- tattooed, British accent and fresh off a stint in rehab, solving crimes in New York City -- but it's the Watson twist that has everyone curious.
Lucy Liu stars as Holmes' sober companion, Dr. Joan Watson, a former surgeon who has her own demons to battle. HuffPost TV caught up with Liu to hear more about this departure of a role for her (Watson, even in this iteration, is nowhere near as physical or as glamorous a role as Liu usually does) and why the backlash about Watson being female is not unlike the controversy when Barack Obama became our first African-American President.
We also talked about the roles she's recognized for the most (but not before she reunited with her old pal...

Universal Pictures are reviving plans for a 25-years-later sequel to their well remembered 1988 classic Midnight Run, which has original star Robert De Niro attached to reprise his tough bounty hunter Jack Walsh.
Deadline reports that Brett Ratner (Tower Heist, Rush Hour) has now entered talks to sit in the director’s chair which has sent the Internet film community into a furious rage but just like his recent attachment to the MTV origins movie “I Want My MTV”, I actually think this is a property where he could deliver something decent out of. He did himself make a decent mismatched buddy action comedy with the first Rush Hour movie, though where his mindset was for the sequels I don’t know.
G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra and Four Brothers writers David Elliot and Paul Lovett have been tasked with re-writing Tom Dowling’s (Role Models) original script for Midnight Run 2.

We’re into Season 4, Episode 9, entitled “Bug”. We all know the Breaking Bad title rules (There Are No Rules!!!! Actually there are some, I just can’t mention ‘rules’ without yelling that or people will think I’m not extreme and don’t mainline Mountain Dew Code Red). So what will be the second meaning of the word “Bug”? Obviously one “bug” is the bug that Walt placed on Gus’ car, but what will be the secret special crazysexycool “Ohhh, Bug” moment? A Bug’s Life? The Dinosaur Jr. album “Bug”? Hitler Bug? Oh Man I hope it’s Hitler Bug. Actually, if it did turn out to be Hitler bug, Breaking Bad would justify the situation so immediately and legitimately, you wouldn’t have a split-second to doubt this show’s superlative greatness. “Bug” episode opens with a classic Breaking Bad foreshadowing moment: A blurry sequence of dripping blood,...

Remember the terrific The Long Kiss Goodnight? Director Renny Harlin has plans for a sequel, we can exclusively reveal. And Samuel L Jackson is on board...
What's the greatest amnesia action-comedy film of all time? If you said The Long Kiss Goodnight, congratulations. You are now my new best friend. If you said Code Name: The Cleaner, starring Cedric The Entertainer, shame on you. Shame on you.
Fifteen years after Samuel L. Jackson had a whale of a time helping Geena Davis remember she was a stone cold assassin, Renny Harlin has confirmed he's not done yet.

Do you read Maxim magazine? Because I used to. Once in a while, I'll flip through, and remind myself what it is about the rag that I don't find appealing anymore. The articles are occasionally pretty good, and there are moments where you just kind of laugh and enjoy. But everything else just reminds you it's a PG-13 Playboy. It's as if a teenager told his clever mother he only reads the skin mag for the articles, so she goes through with a whiteout brush and draws modest one-piece bathing suits on the spreads and then lets him read it. It's a disappointment. Such is the case with Middle Men, which chronicles the development of 24/7 Billing, which acted as the fingercuffs between the online porn distributors and the horny husbands who wanted to whack it to Lusty Busty Asians in the comfort of their own dens. With the doors locked.

On paper, Middle Men, directed by Bad Boys and Code Name: The Cleaner screenwriter George Gallo, is a fascinating (and purportedly true) story about the frontier days of the Internet. A string of fortunate events finds Jack Harris (Luke Wilson), a wholesome entrepreneur from Texas, coming to the aid of Wayne Beering (Giovanni Ribisi) and Buck Dolby (Gabriel Macht). These two geniuses have designed a revolutionary way to sell people pornography over the Internet simply by being the middle men who push a string of credit card numbers from one place to another. They become multi-millionaires in a matter of weeks.
Trouble is these two geniuses are actually complete morons and therefore Jack steps in to partner with the dysfunctional duo. Sorting out their business woes amidst their own clashing personalities is the least of Jack's worries, though, since the duo has also entered a partnership with a Russian gangster,...

Remember yesterday when I said I generally enjoy movies about animals? We need to make one glaring, massive exception: if it's not animated, animals should never speak. Ever. Ever. No good can ever come out of it. Animals are like babies -- they shouldn't speak in films, and when they do, the filmmakers should be thrown into a volcano.
For example: Dark Horizons is reporting that ContentFilm has picked up the rights to The Dog Squad: 3D, which has a plot synopsis that will make you want to smash everything in your line of site:

This is hilarious! Posted earlier today, the screenwriter for the L. Ron Hubbard Scientology-infused screenplay for Battlefield Earth (which recently was crowned as the worst film of the decade by the Razzies), apologized to all those who saw the movie. He did so in an article on the New York Post’s website titled I penned the suckiest movie ever – sorry!
Hah! The piece starts off with J. D. Shapiro’s (the writer, pictured below) apology, and then he goes onto blame his penis for introducing him to Scientology and to John Travolta for ruining his version of the script.
This got me thinking… as horrid as Battlefield Earth is, was it really the worst film of the first 10 years of the 21st century? Soul Plane was pretty bad – not even entertainingly bad; just flat-out bad! How about Gigli? Or The Adventures Of Pluto Nash? Code Name: The Cleaner? Any others?...

We have just discovered from our sources that director John Singleton has his next project and its not the A-Team as reports would have lead you at one time to believe- even though they are filming that movie now; but is a comedy concert film.
We discovered that Singleton has decided to film comedian DeRay Davis’ stand-up performance (yet to be titled) and release it nationally, and not as a DVD for the video store but as the first stand up film in years to be released theatrically. As of this writing, rumor has it that the film will be shot next month.
Davis, you may recall, recently featured his comedic performance in Shaq’s Comedy All Stars on Showtime and was in several films such as Imagine That (starring Eddie Murphy), Semi-Pro (starring Will Ferrell) and Code Name: The Cleaner (with Cedric The Entertainer) just to name a few...

Luke Wilson and Giovanni Ribisi have signed on to star in George Gallo’s “Middle Men,” an indie comedy about the origins of the Internet porn business.
Variety says the film centers on a businessman who builds an online billing company and is consequently pulled into chaotic mess involving conmen, federal agents and terrorists.
Gallo, whose credits include “Bad Boys” and “Code Name: The Cleaner,” co-wrote the script with Andy Weiss. Oxymoron Entertainment is financing the project.
Wilson is currently onscreen in “Henry Poole is Here.” He is also filming Mile Million’s comedy “Tenure.”
As for Ribisi, it’s been a while since we last saw him on the big screen. He recently wrapped filming for Michael Mann’s upcoming crime drama “Public Enemies.”...

We've finally got some news on Inkheart, the young adult action-adventure fantasy starring Brendan Fraser that was plucked off the 2008 schedule back at the beginning of the year.
Now, the only thing worse than being pulled of the release schedule a couple months before hitting theaters is being pushed back nine months to the dead zone of early January. Welcome to the suck, Inkheart.
This past January, New Line announced that the movie would not open in 2008, but at some point indeterminate in '09. The move was partially because of all the changes at New Line this year, aftershocks of silly things like lawsuits from Lord of the Rings and expensive moves that didn't pay off as handsomely as the company would've liked (The Golden Compass). But moving it to the second weekend in January? Well, that generally means the movie's not very good.

Several years ago, I made a whimsical prediction that soon enough, there would be the "summer movie season" and the "Oscar season" and almost every movie would have to fall into one of those two categories. There are a couple of weeks on either side where absolute rubbish is released, movies like Code Name: The Cleaner and Wicker Man, which are so awful you can't fit them into one of the major categories.
It's looking more and more likely that we're headed that direction. Look at the big expectations this August, with The Mummy, Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Death Race all hitting theaters within four weeks. Rewind the tape back to 2004 and you'll see that August was filled with Collateral and Alien vs. Predator are the only major releases that are even remotely interesting. And I'm giving AvP a lot of slack in that regard.

Ever wanted to know how the porn industry ended up taking over the Web? According to Variety, George Gallo is set to direct “Middle Men,” a comedy about the origins of the Internet porn business.
The film is the first project to be developed by Oxymoron Entertainment and will focus on a businessman who’s thrust into the world of online porn. That’s all we know about the plot at this stage.
Gallo is directing a script he co-wrote with Andy Weiss.
Looking back at Gallo’s credits as a writer, I’m not so sure this film is such a brilliant idea. After all, Gallo is partly responsible for Les Mayfield’s disastrous comedy “Code Name: The Cleaner.” Then again, he also came up with the story of “Bad Boys.

'Museum' extends its No. 1 run with $24 million
Although 20th Century Fox's Night at the Museum and Sony Pictures' The Pursuit of Happyness captured the top two spots at the domestic boxoffice for the third weekend in a row, a portion of the audience was looking for something different during the first full frame of 2007, and that catapulted Universal Pictures' Children of Men into the No. 3 spot.
Universal's quick decision to expand wide the futuristic film directed by Alfonso Cuaron a week earlier than planned clearly paid off as it grossed an estimated $10.3 million in 1,209 theaters. Paramount Pictures also benefited from being nimble as it bowed its schoolroom drama Freedom Writers a week earlier than planned, grossing an estimated $9.7 million, good for fourth place.
Fox's Museum maintained the top spot for the third consecutive weekend with an estimated $24 million, bringing its cume to $164.1 million. Meanwhile, Sony held on to the No. 2 spot during the fourth weekend of release of the Will Smith starrer Happyness, which picked up an estimated $13 million.
Among the new releases, Lionsgate earned decent marks with its animated film Happily N'Ever After, which bowed to an estimated $6.8 million and the sixth-place spot. New Line Cinema's comedy Code Name: The Cleaner didn't fare as well, however; the Cedric the Entertainer starrer bowed in 11th place with a weekend gross of an estimated $4.6 million.
Overall, the top 12 movies generated an estimated $106.3 million, a small 0.46% increase over last year at this time, when Lionsgate bowed Hostel to $19.5 million.
The top 10 holdovers performed strongly in the marketplace, with nothing falling more than an estimated 43%.
In fifth place, Paramount's release of DreamWorks' musical Dreamgirls generated an additional $8.8 million for a strong $10,358 per-theater average, the best mark among the top 10. The film, still in a fairly limited release of 852 theaters, has grossed $54.4 million. Paramount intends to expand it to 1,800 theaters next frame.
In eighth place, Universal's R-rated spy drama The Good Shepherd fell $41% to $6.5 million. The film starring Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie has generated close to $50 million.
In ninth place, MGM's Rocky Balboa is holding strong; the underdog story generated another $6 million, pushing its gross to an estimated $60 million.
Among the limited releases, Picturehouse's Pan's Labyrinth continues to perform strongly. The R-rated adult fairy tale from director Guillermo Del Toro grossed $727,066 on 44 screens, up 17 screens from last frame. The film generated a per-screen average of $16,524, and its two-week cume stands at $1.8 million. Picturehouse intends to add 200 screens this weekend, and company head Bob Berney is considering an even larger expansion than initially planned for Jan.
