Director Erik Bloomquist (Ten Minutes to Midnight, Long Lost) is back with slasher throwback She Came from the Woods, which is headed home this weekend.
After being released in theaters earlier this year, She Came from the Woods is now slashing its way onto Tubi on Saturday, June 10. Check out a gallery of exclusive character posters below, along with the previously released trailer for the 1980s-style summer camp slasher.
In She Came from the Woods, “A group of counselors unleashes a decades-old evil, long buried secrets, and bloody mayhem on the last night of summer camp in 1987.”
Matt Donato wrote in his review for Bloody Disgusting, “Even as a warmup act to the heavy hitters worshiped by slasher fans since the dawn of internet forums, She Came from the Woods stands its ground as an example of how no subgenre is dead with the proper approach.”

Apple TV+ has been ramping up its content slate with some of the most talked about original series.
The streaming service's latest surefire hit is Life By Ella, premiering globally Friday, September 2.
The series follows Ella as she returns to school with a brand new perspective, excitement for what the future holds, and a major "seize the day" mentality following her stint with cancer.
With her best friend by her side, she is ready to tackle everything she was too afraid of before, and determined not to let the minutiae of fake friends and social media status distract her.
The official trailer certainly highlights Ella's plight to "seize the day," even if those around her are not ready for her to return to doing what she loves best.
Her cancer diagnosis undoubtedly is a cause for concern from her parents, with her father wondering whether returning to school so soon...

The multi-cam pilot starring the Lopezes is described as a working-class family comedy about dysfunction, reconnection and all the pain and joy in between.
Mosley will play Brookie, Mayan’s co-worker and best friend who always knows what’s trending (and sometimes it’s her feet pics). Deol will play Dr. Pocha, the veterinarian who employs Mayan and Brookie and is better at saving pets than talking to people.
Mosley stars in Paramount+’s “iCarly” reboot as Harper, and she was a member of the Season 2 cast of HBO’s “A Black Lady Sketch Show.” Her other screen credits include “Florida Girls” on Pop, “Single Parents” on ABC, “Better Call Saul” on AMC and “Insecure” on HBO, and...

“American Housewife” (ABC)
After an untimely exit by one cast member and five seasons under its belt, the Katy Mixon-starring sitcom called it quits.
“Call Your Mother” (ABC)
Kyra Sedgwick’s foray into multi-cam comedy proved short-lived: the network pulled the plug after just one season.
“For Life” (ABC)
ABC pulled the plug on this drama series, but there might be a renewal elsewhere in its future.
“mixed-ish” (ABC)
The Mark-Paul Gosselaar/Tika Sumpter-starring “black-ish” spinoff lasted two seasons.
“Rebel” (ABC)
The cancellation of this decently-rated debut series loosely based on the life of Erin Brockovich was so shocking even its leading lady Katey Sagal had something to say about it.
Absentia (Amazon Prime)
Stana Katic’s “Castle” follow-up proved to not have the same staying power, with its third season being its last.
“All Rise” (CBS)

Actor Jaleel White, the former child star famous for playing Steve Urkel on Family Matters, has announced the launch of a new cannabis brand created in collaboration with 710 Labs. Called ItsPurpl, the new cannabis line appropriately features multiple variants of the popular strain Purple Urkle. It will even include a new strain called Stefan, a reference to Steve Urkel's more charming alter-ego on Family Matters.
"Friends and family always thought it was funny to send me bootlegged pics of myself featured on cannabis products in dispensaries across the country," Jaleel White told Forbes in a recent interview explaining why he decided to get involved in the cannabis industry. "A childhood friend from the second grade is the person I credit with making sure I went about things the right way. Every few months since at least 2016, a new businessman would come along with ideas that felt very exploitative of the Urkel character legacy and money-minded.

Not to mention A Trash Truck Christmas on Friday.

No studio or production company has been immune to the devastating financial effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, and that even includes an outfit like Netflix who always appeared to have a bottomless supply of cash. The streaming service have been nothing short of ruthless this year, wielding the axe like Jack Nicholson in The Shining to remove a huge number of original shows from the schedule.
The majority of the titles to bite the dust have been canned after just one season, which includes but is in no way limited to, I Am Not Okay With This, The Society, Away, Teenage Bounty Hunters, The Big Show Show, V Wars and October Faction. Altered Carbon and The Order, meanwhile, managed to get two runs under their respective belts, while the acclaimed Glow already had one episode of season 4 shot and in the can before the massively popular drama was also kicked to the curb.

It has begun. The steady trickle of films about Labradors who save Christmas, American girls marrying European princes, and parents learning that their kids are more important than their jobs, is with us. Netflix is responsible for a good proportion of the above, with several new festive titles arriving over the next few weeks.
If that does nothing for you, then you might be more interested in the arrival of three non-tinsel films on the service this month. There’s David Fincher’s Mank streaming from December 4th, followed on the 18th by Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, featuring the much-missed Chadwick Boseman, with George Clooney-starring The Midnight Sky landing a couple of days before Christmas on the 23rd.
TV-wise, there’s a new season of animated comedy Big Mouth on December 4th, the debut of slick-looking Shondaland period drama Bridgerton on the 25th, and right at the end of the month,...

Netflix‘s 2020 cancellation spree has claimed yet another victim, and the axe continues swinging with alarming regularity across the streaming service’s wide range of original output. One minor positive is that The Order managed to last for two seasons before getting canned, a claim that can’t be made by the likes of I Am Not Okay With This, The Society, Away, Teenage Bounty Hunters, The Big Show Show, V Wars, October Faction and many others that have been pulled from the platform this year.
Created by longtime television veteran Dennis Heaton, the teen-skewing fantasy show with horror and supernatural elements followed a college student who joins a secret society that practices magic. Of course, our handsome protagonist eventually stumbles upon a wide-ranging conspiracy full of dark secrets that threaten the very fabric of reality, while there’s also the requisite amount of romance and some werewolves thrown in for good measure.

The financial implications of the Coronavirus pandemic have had a massive effect on the film and television industry, and even with what appears to be a bottomless supply of cash, Netflix have shown that they’re far from immune. Despite enjoying their best year ever when it comes to original movies, the streaming service has canceled a much higher number of series than usual.
While the likes of The Big Show Show, V Wars, October Faction and more were most likely canned due to a general lack of interest from subscribers and low viewership numbers, in other cases, the company have binned titles that had a huge audience. Hallmark and Lifetime may be the longtime players in the TV holiday movie game, but relative newbie Netflix has a festive boast to make about its own Christmas content: “Around half” of Netflix subscribers “watched at least one” of the streaming service’s original holiday films during the 2019 holiday season and Netflix’s holiday titles are streamed in all 190 countries where the platform is available, a spokesperson for the streaming service tells TheWrap.
For context, Netflix said it had reached 167 million subscribers globally at the end of 2019, so this stat would apply to almost 50% of those accounts. Reminder: Netflix counts a “view” as when someone watches a selected title for at least two minutes.
Netflix doesn’t have nearly as many original holiday movies under its belt as Hallmark or Lifetime but its library is growing each year, and it’s already known for a few “franchises,” like its beloved “A Christmas Prince” trilogy.

After a stellar October full of spooky flicks and other great releases, Netflix has already come out swinging in November, too. The initial few drops of the month have brought a solid collection of fresh content guaranteed to be filled with at least a few things that you’re going to be anxious to add to your list, such as the hilarious family comedy Paul Blart: Mall Cop, unnerving sci-fi flick Prospect, and the Keanu Reeves thriller Knock Knock.
But if you’re feeling a little impatient and want to begin planning out your December schedule, too, you’ll love this good news – Netflix has already announced a pretty nice selection of additions coming next month, including a handful of highly-anticipated originals.

Netflix have been nothing short of ruthless when it comes to wielding the axe this year with a huge volume of shows being canceled, including established favorite Glow, which was widely regarded as one of the streaming service’s finest in-house originals. New projects have been especially vulnerable and I Am Not Okay With This, The Society, Teenage Bounty Hunters, The Big Show Show, October Faction and V Wars are just some of the recent titles to have bitten the dust after a single season.
Big budget sci-fi Away is the latest to be canceled, which came as a surprise when reports had been making the rounds that the show had actually been renewed. Not only that, but it featured heavily in the Top 10 most-watched list for a number of weeks, but because nobody seems entirely sure how Netflix determine whether or not something is worth continuing, speculation instantly turned to the budget.

Despite largely giving their original shows the benefit of the doubt and allowing them to grow an audience over time, Netflix have been nothing short of ruthless when it comes to wielding the axe this year. Clearly, even the world’s biggest and most popular streaming service isn’t immune to the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, and a huge number of in-house projects have bitten the dust.
Teenage Bounty Hunters, V Wars, October Faction, The Big Show Show, The Society and I Am Not Okay With This were all canned after one season, despite the latter two initially being renewed. Please do not adjust the calendar settings on your Internet-connected device. No, you have not fallen into some kind of transcendental wormhole in which time is but a mere suggestion. That headline is correct. It is October 7 and Netflix has announced its 2020 Holiday season lineup.
For starters: shame on you, Netflix. Let the spooky season breathe. But given that this will be a most unusual holiday season due to the coronavirus pandemic, I suppose we can give the streaming giant a pass this time for wanting to get a head start on some Christmas cheer.
Just as Netflix’s Halloween offerings were dubbed “Netflix and Chills”, so too does the holiday season get its own Netflix-friendly branding. Get ready for “Netflix: Here for the Holidays.” And here is a helpful graphic with some of the major titles.
Netflix’s holiday season headliner is certainly The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two, premiering on Nov.

Netflix might be enjoying one of their best years ever in terms of original content, with countless movies and TV shows receiving widespread enthusiasm from critics and subscribers alike, but the world’s biggest streaming service has also been wielding the axe with increasing regularity. Having already wielded the axe and canceled The Society and I Am Not Okay With This after just one season despite originally renewing both for a second run, it appears that Netflix might be in the midst of some serious cost-cutting measures. Fans might have been furious that two of their favorites had been canned, but with the streaming giant never releasing any official viewing figures for either, it seems likely that they simply weren’t popular enough to justify the expense.
One recently-canceled show that they did release the data for though was Altered Carbon, and drawing in just 2.5 million viewers in the first seven days for season 1 isn’t a good look for what you would imagine to be one of their most costly efforts to produce. And the fact that the numbers weren’t even revealed for season 2 would make you think that it proved to be even less successful among subscribers.

The streaming service will release one more episode of both multi-cam sitcoms this December, as standalone Christmas specials for “Ashley Garcia” and “Big Show Show” had already been filmed ahead of the pandemic, an individual with knowledge of the situation tells TheWrap. These episodes do not continue storylines from the previous seasons.
All existing episodes of “The Big Show Show” and “Ashley Garcia: Genius In Love” will continue to be available for streaming on Netflix.

It's game over for another two Netflix shows.
The streamer has pulled the plug on both The Big Show Show and Ashley Garcia: Genius in Love, according to Deadline.
Ashley Garcia: Genius In Love (also known as The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia) starred Paulina Chávez as “the world’s only 15-and-a-half-year-old robotics genius engineer and rocket scientist,” per the series’ official description.
“[When she] gets the chance to work for a prestigious company, she moves across the country to live with her fun-loving Uncle Victor, a pro football player turned high school coach who’s never met a responsibility he can’t shirk.”
The first part premiered in February, with Part 2 following in July.
The Big Show Show, which launched on April 6, was led by Paul Wight (aka WWE Superstar The Big Show) as a fictional version of himself, as well as Allison Munn, Reylynn Caster, Juliet Donenfeld, and Lily Brooks O’Briant.

It looks like The Big Show's show is over. Netflix has cancelled The Big Show Show TV series so there won't be a second season.
A family sitcom, The Big Show Show stars WWE Superstar "The Big Show" aka Paul Wight, Allison Munn, Reylynn Caster, Juliet Donenfeld, and Lily Brooks O'Briant. When the teenage daughter (Caster) of The Big Show, a retired and world-famous WWE Superstar, comes to live with him, his second wife (Munn) and their two daughters (O'Briant and Donenfeld), he quickly realizes he's been outnumbered and outsmarted. Despite being 7 feet tall and weighing 400 pounds, he is no longer the center of attention.
Deadline reports that the series has been cancelled but viewers haven't seen all of the episodes just yet. The first eight episodes of this family sitcom were released by...

Exclusive: Netflix has opted not to order second seasons of multi-camera family sitcoms Ashley Garcia: Genius in Love and The Big Show Show.
Fans will get one more original episode of each shows as the streamer had commissioned special Christmas episodes of both comedies to be released this December.
These are not series finales. The special stand-alone Christmas episodes were filmed before the pandemic and do not continue the storylines from the previous seasons.
The produced episodes of Ashley Garcia and The Big Show Show will continue to be available on Netflix. Multi-camera comedy is probably the genre most dependable on cast chemistry. That is something that can be tested in a pilot, something that does not fit into Netflix’s model, which is built on straight-to-series orders.
Created by Seth Kurland & Mario Lopez, Ashley Garcia: Genius in Love followed a prodigy named Ashley Garcia, the “only 15-and-a-half-year-old robotics engineer...
