Production on the highly anticipated second season officially began back in November, but faced an unforeseen hurdle with the disruptive Los Angeles wildfires.

A name that’s known across the entire gaming development scene is Todd Howard. Leading Bethesda, he has played a crucial role in the development of iconic franchises such as Fallout and Elder Scrolls.
Howard isn’t a developer like others in the gaming industry. His design philosophy is quite unique, as it allows players to connect with every single aspect of the studio’s RPGs.

While other developers focus on crafting great maps, themes, and mechanics, Howard tends to give a bigger priority to the music aspect that instantly gets the player’s attention.

There’s no denying that Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of the greatest games ever developed by Bethesda Game Studios. Right after its arrival, it proved to be a smash hit both among gamers and critics.

The last couple of years haven’t been kind to Bethesda. At one point, Todd Howard and his team were known for creating revolutionary games. However, that reputation has crashed hard after the release of Starfield.
The sci-rpg was supposed to be Howard’s magnum opus. However, it proved to be one of the biggest disasters in the company’s history, as it couldn’t capture the Bethesda magic we all fell in love with in previous games.

Considering Starfield‘s debut, there’s huge pressure on Bethesda to deliver a worthy experience with the upcoming Elder Scrolls 6. While it’s still in development, Howard seriously needs to consider an ex-Starfield developer’s opinion; otherwise, it’s all over.

It’s right to say that the expectations are through the roof when it comes to Fallout 5. It’s been a decade of inactivity for the mainline series, and while the next game is still years away, there’s a lot of hype around the game.
Bethesda has already confirmed that it’s going to shift its attention to Fallout 5 once it’s done working on Elder Scrolls 6.

What kind of experience is Todd Howard and his team planning for the next game? Well, it’s still unclear, but one thing is certain: Fallout 5 can’t make the same mistakes as Fallout 4 when it comes to Ghoul design.

After The White Lotus Season 3, every Marvel fan would be thinking the same thing: Why did MCU waste Walton Goggins in such a minor role? Goggins played the secondary antagonist, Sonny Burch, a low-level criminal in Ant-Man and the Wasp. While the second Ant-Man film is not so bad, Goggins’ Sonny was one of the forgettable parts of the movie.
The actor’s portfolio spoke volumes about his acting range, but Marvel just used him as a villain to run the subplot. He wasn’t a menacing villain but one who always became the butt of the joke. His plan to steal and sell Pym’s technology on the black market only posed a minor inconvenience for the heroes in the film.

In 2022, Danish filmmaker Christian Tafdrup delivered one of the most disturbing horror films of modern times with "Speak No Evil." Tafdrup, who co-wrote the movie with his brother, Mads, didn't want to rely on gore to upset audiences. In fact, he didn't want to rely on any established tropes of the horror genre in order to achieve his desired effect, instead constructing a truly unique and deeply troubling film that haunted viewers not only for the bleak events contained therein, but for its social commentary. Specifically, Tafdrup wanted to interrogate humanity's widespread aversion to interpersonal conflict and show how a dogged commitment to maintaining a polite social manner can have disastrous consequences.
Of course, the consequences depicted in "Speak No Evil" were a tad more disastrous than any of us will ever experience. One notorious scene actually managed to speak so much evil that it immediately became an unpleasant core...

If Disney and Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* doesn’t kick off summer with a projected $70M start, then don’t worry, the studio’s live-action Lilo & Stitch and Paramount/Skydance’s finale Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will absolutely get the job down when they hit theaters over Memorial Day weekend.
Six weekend-in-advance tracking has hit for both movies on Quorum with Lilo & Stitch eyeing a $100M+ 3-day opening and M:i 8 eyeing a record 3-day for the franchise, well north of 2018’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout‘s $61M.
Remember how sucky last year’s Memorial Day weekend was at the box office with Furiosa and Garfield leading a $132.2M weekend? Well, none of that is bound to happen here, knock on wood.
Everyone bristles when Quorum releases their super early forecasts: The tracking firm was spot on weeks in advance for the openings of Deadpool & Wolverine, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,...

Bungie has had a rich and varied history concerning its video game IPs. For the uninitiated, the company was founded back in May 1991 and has since grown to become a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Before its acquisition by Sony, Bungie was owned by Microsoft, which led to the creation of the critically acclaimed Halo series of video games. With PlayStation backing them now, however, Bungie has shifted focus from Halo and Destiny 2, now aiming to move forward with a new game, known as Marathon.

The 2016 HBO sitcom Vice Principals, starring Walton Goggins and Danny McBride, has resurfaced with new-found streaming success.
Per Collider, the 8-year-old sitcom is the ninth most streamed show on Max. The series follows Goggins and Mcbride as vice-principals trying to crawl their way to the top through often self-destructive scheming. Fans of White Lotus will recognize Goggins as Rick Hatchett from the recently ended Season 3. He and Mcbride have also worked together on The Righteous Gemstones. Despite going off the air in 2017, Vice Principals was very well received critically. The series' first season has a critical score of 64% on rotten tomatoes, and its second season sits at an outstanding 100%.
When the previous principal, played by Bill Murray, retires, Neal Gramby (Mcbride) and Lee Russel (Goggins) decide to team up to overthrow the current principal, Dr. Belinda Brown (Kimberly Hébert Gregory). The series was created and directed by Mcbride and Jody Hill.

The Writers Guild of America shared a new employment analysis confirming what you already know: there’s no work out there.
The guild shared that based on its data, the 2023-’24 TV season had 1,319 fewer writer jobs than the prior season, impacting writers at all levels of seniority. That’s the result of 37 percent fewer episodic series in the ’23-’24 season compared to ’22-’23, or just 223 shows compared to 362 the year before. The declines are also well below pre-pandemic levels, when roughly 345 covered WGA series were on air.
The WGA also said that screenwriting was down too: for the first three quarters of 2024, the number of screenwriters working was down 15 percent compared to 2022, and earnings were down 6 percent compared to 2022 (they were up from 2023).
“Writing careers have always been difficult to access and sustain, but the contraction has made it especially challenging,” the WGA West leadership wrote in a letter...

There’s a big chance that if you’ve played an open-world RPG like Fallout, Skyrim, or Starfield in the last twenty years, you’ll have played some part of what Nate Purkeypile, solo indie dev of Purkeypile Games, has created. Things have changed since his time at Bethesda, and now, he’s bringing us news of his latest game Deedlee Doo! Carkour!
Deedlee Doo! Carkour!, an entirely New Spin on Things
Having left Bethesda in part due to his disillusionment with how complicated the studio had become compared to the earlier years, Nate Purkeypile struck out on his own with his own venture, launching his first game The Axis Unseen last year, and now, announcing his second indie game Deedlee Doo! When it comes to onscreen adaptations, we’re in “a video game renaissance.” At least, that’s what “The Last of Us: Part II” writers Halley Gross and Neil Druckmann think.
“Sometimes I’ll meet film directors that I’m a big fan of, like I had a meeting with Fede Álvarez, who just did the last ‘Alien’ movie, and he’s telling me how much he was inspired by ‘The Last of Us,’” said Druckmann. He’s head of the video game studio Naughty Dog and an executive producer and co-creator with Craig Mazin of “The Last of Us” TV show at HBO.
“Then I had an interview with Alex Garland and he’s telling me how much he’s inspired by ‘The Last of Us: Part II,’” Druckmann said. “And I’m like, ‘Dude, I stole everything from you from ’28 Days Later.’ What are you talking about?’”

Microsoft’s Game Pass is undoubtedly bang for the buck. One might say that the concept of having games locked behind a subscription service isn’t great, but the fact is that we, as players, are getting tons of incredible games every month for an affordable price.
One of the most recent additions to Game Pass is Atomfall. It’s not the “British Fallout” that many had expected. It’s a survival game that brings something new to the table, and gamers simply can’t get enough of it.

Right from its release, Atomfall has been reaching new highs on a consistent basis, and now its 1.5 million player count proves that locking hardware isn’t the solution, which Helldivers 2 doesn’t understand.

Whether you’re here for the big-budget tentpoles or just want something fresh to binge this weekend, this list covers the best of what Prime Video has to offer right now. Let’s get into my top seven TV shows streaming on Prime Video right now.

Xbox’s Game Pass subscription service has been doing tremendously well lately, and Atomfall is just one of the many, many blockbuster titles on offer. For the uninitiated, Atomfall is an alternative history action-survival game.
The game is built on top of the Asura game engine, created in-house by developer Rebellion Developments. As such, the game does feature some lush environments and striking landscapes, albeit with a very last-gen look.

Although Bethesda has probably forgotten about Fallout 5, fans of the game have taken it upon themselves to satisfy the needs of fellow sole survivors by creating a mod that is so good it can be deemed as the sequel to Fallout 4. Of course, we are talking about Fallout: London.

There’s no better time to be a fan of Walton Goggins than right now. The two-time Emmy nominee just wrapped up work on the third season of The White Lotus, and he can also be seen opposite Danny McBride in The Righteous Gemstones. However, long before he ever suited up as Baby Billy Freeman or Rick Hatchett, he worked with Danny McBride on an HBO original comedy series that has returned to streaming charts after going off the air in 2017. Goggins and McBride star opposite Shea Whigham and Edi Patterson in Vice Principals, the sitcom following two vice principals competing for the principal job. Season 2 of the series earned a perfect 100% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, which followed a 64% in Season 1. Vice Principals is #9 on Max at the time of writing.

Even though Bethesda has stated that Fallout 5 will happen in the future, it has been very open about how long it will take. Currently, Todd Howard and his team’s biggest priority is Elder Scrolls 6, which means that the next post-apocalyptic game won’t be out until the 2030s at the very earliest.
Considering how it’s been almost a decade since Fallout 4 hit the shelves, the wait for its successor is frustrating for fans of the franchise

However, those itching for some new wasteland experience can give a shot at an unofficial Fallout Dlc dubbed ‘The Machine and Her.’ It’s a Dlc-sized mod for Fallout 4 that completely shakes the game from the ground up.

Matt Berry, the British comedian and actor who has starred in everything from The I.T. Crowd and What We Do in the Shadows to Fallout and, most recently, A Minecraft Movie, has one of those voices that just makes any project he's in 10 times better. The actor lent that voice to A Minecraft Movie, playing a villager who falls in love with Jennifer Coolidge's Marlene. But, before he was cast as Nitwit, Matt Berry nearly had a much larger role in Minecraft, and it would have completely changed the film.

TV dramas like Black Mirror have gone mainstream, proving there's a wider audience for dystopian horror. Series creator Charlie Brooker said he's now jealous of Severance because he keeps hearing that it’s a "much better" show.
Charlie Brooker said he's not watching Severance; he's heard enough people asserting that's a better show. "There's certainly a show I haven't watched that's made me jealous. People keep telling me to watch Severance, and I haven't let myself do it because they also say to me, "Oh, you'll love it. It's a bit Black Mirror-y, but it's much better,'" he told THR. It's been 13 years since Brooker delved deep into dystopian horror; Black Mirror Season 1 instantly gained a cult following as an unapologetically dark TV show. Severance gained its fan base similarly, but quickly broke into the mainstream in Season 2.
Black Mirror and Severance have one more thing in common.

It’s been six years since Todd Howard gave the Elder Scrolls fans their first look at Elder Scrolls 6. Many thought the game wouldn’t be that far away and would hit the shelves in a few years. However, even in 2025, we still haven’t received a full-fledged trailer, let alone the game itself.
Considering the fact that Bethesda has recently diverted its resources from Starfield to Elder Scrolls 6, it’s fair to say that the RPG is still years away from release.

The next mission for Tom Cruise, should he choose to accept it, is to launch his latest (and maybe final?) entry in his major action series — Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning — at the Cannes Film Festival. Chris Bumbray reported on Cruise’s recent big appearance at the CinemaCon panel where he revealed the new trailer, but first paid tribute to Val Kilmer, “Tom Cruise showed up in person and the exhibitors went nuts. He led off by paying tribute to Val Kilmer who he called a dear friend. Said he was grateful and honored he came back for Top Gun: Maverick. Has us take a moment of silence for him. Ended it with ‘Thank you, Val. I wish you well on your next journey.‘”

The latest blockbuster on the block, A Minecraft Movie, will likely top the box office charts in its sophomore weekend after delivering record numbers in its debut frame. It'll compete against a handful of new releases, including the spy thriller The Amateur, the war movie Warfare, and the horror film Drop. But did you know that there is another film debuting theatrically this week; one starring perhaps the two hottest male actors right now? The Uninvited, a comedy-drama that premiered at the South By Southwest Festival last year, features Pedro Pascaland Walton Goggins as part of its ensemble cast. The movie will receive a limited release on Friday.
What also sets The Uninvited apart from its fellow newbies — barring the presence of Pascal and Goggins — is the excellent response that it is debuting to. It currently holds a "fresh" 100% approval rating on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, albeit with just seven reviews currently listed.

Minecraft blew theater doors wide open in its initial weekend, surpassing even optimistic projections and grossing a record-breaking $163 million domestic — the best domestic debut of all time for a video-game adaptation. We’re in a new era for video-game adaptations, with the series The Last of Us and Fallout becoming serious Emmy players and films like the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise and The Super Mario Bros. Movie proving wildly popular at the box office. It’s a far cry from, well, Far Cry and other maligned adaptations of yore, as Hollywood studios are finally figuring out how to adapt and sell video-game-derived movies to the masses. Considering that The Super Mario Bros. Movie contended for Golden Globes, could A Minecraft Movie’s follow a similar trajectory and translate its box-office success into awards love?

After nearly three decades of death-defying stunts, elaborate disguises, and impossible missions, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is—maybe—bringing the epic story of Ethan Hunt to a dramatic close. Directed and written (with Erik Jendresen) once again by Christopher McQuarrie, the mind behind Rogue Nation, Fallout, and Dead Reckoning, the latest chapter is aiming to be the biggest and boldest yet. As the release draws near, Simon Pegg chatted with Collider about Benji Dunn’s journey, the evolving ensemble, and what really makes this "the final reckoning."
As part of Collider’s Exclusive Preview event spotlighting this summer’s biggest films, Pegg opened up on all things Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. With the stakes higher than ever and the title alone hinting at major consequences, we asked Pegg what makes this the final reckoning. True to Imf form, he kept things close to the chest. Tom Hardy has started 2025 with several high-octane projects, including the Guy Ritchie series MobLand and the upcoming Havoc, an action film that has been long in development. Now, Netflix wowed everyone with the adrenaline-pumping official trailer.

Havoc previously teased the action in its first teaser, which was just as thrilling. The streaming service also released a new poster, which gives a look not only at Hardy's character but the rest of the high-profile cast.

Tina Fey’s 30 Rock was one of the finest comedies that aired on TV. While it did not enjoy the ratings success of other similar workplace sitcoms like The Office or Parks and Recreation, it was nominated for a total of 103 Emmys. Fey used her signature surreal humor to bring to life the world of television that she knew and prospered in.
The show parodied her experiences as the head writer of Saturday Night Live with a fun-filled take on the corporate structure of NBC. Fey played Liz Lemon, the head writer of the series Tgs with Tracy Jordan. She has to work alongside network executive Jack Donaghy, played by Alec Baldwin.

Technically, Season 2 of “The Last of Us” begins where Season 1 left off. Before they settle down in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, now repurposed from a ski resort into a refuge from the zombies infected by the Cordyceps fungus ravaging a post-apocalyptic America, smuggler Joel (Pedro Pascal) lies to Ellie (Bella Ramsey), his living cargo turned de facto adopted daughter. Joel swears to Ellie he’s telling the truth about the decimation of a hospital in Salt Lake City. According to Joel, thieving raiders descended while Ellie was unconscious, even though viewers of the HBO drama — and before that, players of the hit video game — know the truth: that Joel went on a rampage after realizing the doctors’ attempts to extract a cure from the Cordyceps-immune Ellie would kill her. The expression on Ramsey’s face suggests Ellie might know, too, whether or not she admits it to herself.

Video game movies are hot and that makes it the perfect time for Disney to bring a beloved game series to the big screen!
For a long time, movies based on video games didn't have the best track record. With the exception of 1995's Mortal Kombat and the Resident Evil series, the genre has been hit with multiple bombs and critically ravaged films.
Disney themselves know that. In 1993, they released Super Mario Bros under its Hollywood Studios Banner, which regularly tops the list of the worst video game movies. It was everything that fans have slammed about these movies: Terrible casting, a plot bearing almost no resemblance to the games, a lousy script, and everything coming together in the worst way.
In Disney's defense, they're not the only ones who have made this mistake with other video game movie flops. However, the last few years has seen the tide turning.

As we hurtle towards the arrival of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the big question remains: will this be Ethan Hunt’s last mission? Is Tom Cruise really ready to hang up the rubber mask? We’ll be waiting until opening night for answers to that one, but fresh evidence has arrived in the form of a new Final Reckoning trailer – one that flashes back to (nearly) every mission Hunt has ever undertaken. Buckle up.
There’s plenty to dig into there – fresh looks at that astonishing biplane stunt, more teases of the death-defying underwater sequence we’ve heard so much about, and a breakneck shot of Hunt jumping into the sea. And is that our hero teaming up – via some kind of techno-mask – with the Entity itself in order to save the day?

Six years have passed since Tom Cruise announced that the seventh and eighth films in the Mission: Impossible franchise would be shot back-to-back, and he has been in production on these films for a long time. We saw Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning back in 2024, and now the follow-up, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, is almost ready to make its way out into the world, heading toward a May 23rd release date. Just a few days ago, Cruise showed a new trailer for the film to the audience at the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas – and now that new trailer has dropped online! You can check it out in the embed above.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning tells the second half of the story that began in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, with Ethan Hunt out to destroy an AI system called The Entity, which is housed in a sunken Russian stealth submarine.

Is there a more apt name for a franchise than "Mission: Impossible?" While there are numerous film properties that are (impressively) still going after nearly 30 years or more, there are far fewer that've maintained a consistent level of overall quality during that period, let alone kept a single star at the helm with each installment. This longevity can be chalked up to several factors: the template set by the original Bruce Geller 1966-1973 TV series, the various directors who've been invited to play in the films' sandbox, and most of all, the tenacity of Tom Cruise, who's proven his dedication to the franchise time and again, demonstrating his craft and risking his life with each successive entry.
Up until recently, however, the "Mission: Impossible" films have enjoyed a rather loose continuity, with a one-shot structure not only mimicking the original TV show but also best serving the revolving door of...

“The White Lotus” Season 3 is finally here. As is always the case with the HBO anthology series, though, it’s returned with a new cast of actors and characters for viewers to follow and either grow to love or revile. “The White Lotus” has also left its Hawaii and Italy hotels behind in favor of a new exotic setting: a wellness retreat in Thailand. Prepare for a lot of awkward social moments, barely hidden resentment, and, of course, some murder.
Here are all the characters you need to know in “The White Lotus” Season 3 as well as who play them.

During last night's Final Four games on CBS, Paramount Pictures announced that the brand new theatrical trailer for Tom Cruise's highly anticipated Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning - which originally debuted at CinemaCon last week - will be released online Monday!
Whether it'll drop during the National Championship Game or earlier in the day remains to be seen, but we'd wager on the latter since that's generally when the studio tends to launch new footage. We'd then expect a TV spot to debut during the game, directing fans online to check out the full-length trailer.
Plot details remain under wraps, but we learned at CinemaCon that the film will pick up two months after the events of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, with Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) still seemingly on the run and presumably on the hunt for the sunken Sevastopol.

As per Deadline's footage description, here's some...

When was the last time you were genuinely surprised by a movie and had a great time in the theater? You will with the thrilling new game-show drama The Luckiest Man in America, starring Paul Walter Hauser (The Fantastic Four), Walton Goggins (Fallout), and other big names. The recently released film is actually based on a true story, set in the 1980s around the game show Press Your Luck — and a conman who thought he could beat the system for an endless supply of cash. To say more about the juicy story of The Luckiest Man in America would be a disservice, but MovieWeb recently caught up with the film's director, Samir Oliveros, to learn more about his experience bringing the wild story to life — including how he stumbled upon the real-life craziness in the first place.

When "Stargate Sg-1" started back in 1997, it did so without the cast that fronted Roland Emmerich's original 1994 movie. "Stargate" starred Kurt Russell as Colonel Jack O'Neil, a U.S. Air Force Special Operations officer who agrees to pass through the titular portal in order to explore the strange worlds that lay beyond. Russell was flanked by James Spader, who played Dr. Daniel Jackson, an archaeologist who joins O'Neill on his perilous mission.
Originally planned as a trilogy, "Stargate" did not spawn a cinematic franchise despite doing reasonably well at the box office. Instead, Showtime debuted the TV spinoff "Stargate Sg-1" in 1997. However, Russell declined to return as Jack O'Neill, and Spader did the same for his character, leaving showrunners Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner to find some new stars. They did so in the form of "MacGyver" actor Richard Dean Anderson, who played Colonel O'Neill on the series, and Michael Shanks,...

In recent years, the video game adaptation has grown in popularity. What was once a genre dominated by disappointing entries, the past few years have seen the likes of The Last of Us and Fallout restore faith in the video game adaptation. With that in mind, it's understandable that the hype is high for Netflix's next introduction to the genre, Adi Shankar's adaptation of the popular video game series, Devil May Cry. The Castlevania producer first acquired the rights to the series seven years ago, with anticipation steadily growing ever since.
Well, it seems as if the anticipation has paid off, with the series benefitting from a superb early response on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. From critics, Devil May Cry has earned an enormous 93% rating, with a worse but still strong 76% score earned via audiences. After its debut on Thursday, April 3, 2025, the early reception has been ultimately positive for the series,...

On October 10, 1957, at the two-pile Windscale site in northwest England, a graphite-moderated atomic reactor caught fire, leading to the worst nuclear accident in the history of the U.K. Burning for three days and releasing radioactive fallout that spread across Europe, this disaster serves as the instigating event of Atomfall, a first-person action roleplaying game that is to the Windscale fire what S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is to the Chernobyl disaster.
In the alternate history envisioned by the game, the Lake District in Cumbria is quarantined off from the rest of the U.K. to prevent the spread of radioactive fallout, and five years later an amnesiac survivor of the event wakes up in a bunker in the quarantine zone. Wandering out into the district, they encounter enemies of various types and must fight for survival—and Cornish pasties—while unraveling the fate of the poor souls who endured the disaster.

“The White Lotus” may regularly explore wealth inequality, but it turns out that the HBO show’s cast members all stand on equal ground — financially, at least.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “The White Lotus” producer David Bernad revealed that the acclaimed dramedy pays its cast members the same rate every season. “Everyone is treated the same on ‘The White Lotus,'” Bernad said. “They get paid the same, and we do alphabetical billing, so you’re getting people who want to do the project for the right reasons, not to quote ‘The Bachelor.'”
Apparently, that is a practice Bernad, “White Lotus” creator Mike White and HBO adopted when they made the show’s first season, which was shot on location in Hawaii in late 2020 in the midst of the Covid pandemic. “It’s a system we developed in the first season because there was no money to make the show,...
