It happens, man. One day you're young and carefree so you go on a murder spree with a good friend. Still, that can get old too after a while so to prevent boredom, you go and start a new life. In theory that works, but your past can have a way of catching up with you.
That's basically the premise of the new film from the director of The Stepfather, Joseph Ruben, entitled The Stranger. Alanna Belak penned the screenplay for producer Jack Nasser. This one is still early in development, but we'll keep an eye on things for you.
In The Stranger "a serial killer reinvents himself as a small town professor, but his idyllic new life is shattered when his former partner shows up and wants them to start killing together again.“

As Anchor Bay UK releases Born To Fight onto DVD and Blu-ray this week (October 3rd) starring the one and only “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, we thought we would have to look to see who the Top 5 Wrestlers turned actors are, past and present…
1) “Stone Cold” Steve Austin
Our winner has to be “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Stone Cold has fought onto our screens many times over the years. Being the only action hero on this list even to be nominated for a Teen Choice. We have seen Stone Cold kick butt from The Longest Yard right through to Hunt To Kill, The Stranger and now Stone Cold’s newest movie; Born To Fight, and with yet more films from Austin coming in the very near future we think he’s the biggest wrestler-turned-action hero going.

Steve Austin, six times world champion and WWE wrestling legend, and star of films such as The Expendables and The Stranger, returns to the screens in the unmissable Born To Fight on DVD & Blu-ray 3rd October 2011.
Currently hosting the WWE Tough Enough Us reality show series, and having just finished his guest referee spot at Wrestlemania Xxvii, Steve Austin now steps into the boxing ring for the very first time with his latest acting role in Born To Fight!
Matthew’s first day at his new school inevitably turns sour when his nerd-like tendencies soon attract the attention of the school bullies, most notably the school’s undisputed boxing champ Hector. When an innocent initiation challenge leads him to being humiliated and roughed up by Hector, in steps the janitor, a muscle-bound retired fighter named Dan (Steve Austin), who comes to Matthew’s rescue and suggests that he joins the school’s boxing club.

Born To Fight
Stars: ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Daniel Magder, Jaren Brandt Bartlett, Janet Kidder, Emma Grabinsky | Written by Evan Jacobs, Jack Nasser | Directed by Anne Wheeler
Former WWE superstar ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin is back with Born To Fight, aka Knockout, another direct to DVD movie for producer Jack Nasser, who both previously worked together on Damage, The Stranger and the awesome Hunt to Kill. Besides producing Nasser also co-writes, with Evan Jacobs (Doughboys), this Karate Kid-esque underdog story of a nerd who learns to box, get the girl and beat the high school bully.
So far so Karate KId right? Well yes and no. Born To Fight does follow the now typical beatdown, train, fight, win formula that was made famous by Mr. Miyagi and co. in the 80s, but it has a lot, and I mean a Lot, in common with the underrated 90′s action movie Showdown,...

The 14th annual Revelation Perth International Film Festival is, once again, packed to the gills with worldwide wonderful, weird and revelatory filmmaking. The fest runs this year on July 14-24.
The highlight of the festival is the once-in-a-lifetime live performance of Gravity Was Everywhere Back Then, which will be performed on July 17 at 7:15 p.m. American animator Brent Green will be traveling Down Under to provide the live musical score and narration for his emotional, live-action animated tale about undying love and creation. He will also be accompanied by band mates and foley artists, Mike McGinley, John Swartz, Donna K and Drew Henkles.
Some other films to look out for at the fest will be the Australian premiere of Zach Clark‘s terminally twisted Vacation!, a black comedy about four girls on a debauched weekend of drinking and drugging that ends horribly for all involved; Marie Losier’s acclaimed...

The Film:
My old school wrestling buddies should know how infinitely bad-ass “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is. Note how I didn’t say was. He might have been underused in The Expendables, but his fight with Stallone was great. It shouldn’t take too much to convince a producer to build an action film around Austin, and that’s what has been happening for a few years now. Damage. The Stranger. Now Hunt to Kill. Low-rent action films for that late night boredom, but Hunt to Kill is barely passable even at 1am.
Sure, the film is derivative of a thousand other derivative action films, but what kind of kills it centers around the lack of bad-assness. Austin really isn’t the film’s focus, despite his lead name and face plastered on the cover. We follow some idiotic robbers who have just “pulled off the perfect heist” yet one...

Director Jon Favreau‘s (Iron Man 2) upcoming film, Cowboys & Aliens is one of the most hotly anticipated movies of 2011 and Favreau has recently been stoking that fire by teasing the forthcoming trailer for the film on twitter. The first teaser poster for the movie just hit the web and they’ve also flipped the switch on a countdown clock for the premiere of the trailer which you can check out below.
The trailer will be running on the big-screen in front of every print of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I later this week as well. If you didn’t have enough of a reason to see the latest Harry Potter installment, seeing the trailer for Favreau’s traditional Western-meets-alien invasion, as well as the teaser trailer for the Martin Campbell directed Green Lantern ahead of the film should give you some extra motivation!

No matter who wins, you win. Well that doesn’t sound very climactic, does it? Which is fine, because Dolph Lundgren and Steve Austin aren’t actually fighting each other, what did you think this was, The Expendables? Instead, the real battle is you versus your fellow readers. An incestuous, cannibalistic orgy of mental violence to see who is The Winning Machine! All this non-sense and hyperbole aside, what I’m really trying to tell you is that the fine folks over at Anchor Bay have given us multiple copies of two exciting action films: The Stranger starring Steve Austin and Dolph Lundgren is The Killing Machine written by, directed by, and starring Dolph Lundgren, the only man with a legitimate PhD that could kick my ass in a bar fight. Hunt to Kill PosterFormer pro-wrestler Steve Austin is making the transition from the theatrics of the wrestling ring to cinema smoothly with appearances in smaller independent films to blockbusters (The Stranger, The Expendables). In his latest feature, Austin will not be the heel, but the hero as character and border agent Jim Rhodes. Rhodes might be an allusion to the famous wrestler Dusty Rhodes; however, this latest Anchor Bay production will give Austin the chance to use some of his physical acting, as the first trailer for Hunt to Kill shows. All the details on this project are below.
The synopsis for Hunt to Kill here:
"Steve Austin stars as U.S. Border Patrol agent Jim Rhodes, a tough divorcee mourning the loss of his murdered partner while struggling to raise his rebellious daughter in the mountains of Montana. But when a crew of trigger-happy fugitives takes Rhodes and his daughter hostage,...

It's an urban legend stew in Joker Films' Beware . Writer-director Jason Daly is now in post-production on this thriller starring Lorena King, Victor Gonzalez, Cecilia Huete and Adam Leadbeater. The story is set against the backdrop of small town Shady Grove where the legend of "Shane", a boy who was tortured and chained to a tree as a youngster, spooks the locals. Damaged and broken, he wanders those woods in search of blood, with his trademark chain fused to his wrist. Despite years of tales and urban myths, no proof of his existence has ever been discovered, until five unsuspecting teens reveal the truth on an ill-fated trip. Joker Films, based in Canada, has Suck on the way and was behind the Steve Austin actioner The Stranger .

Alice in Wonderland
It's a new Tim Burton movie! It's based on a classic fairy tale about a "bizarre dream world"! Johnny Depp is The Mad Hatter! It's in 3D (albeit the afterthought kind)! What could possibly go wrong? "There's so much going on, it's almost impossible for the human eye to keep up," wrote our own Jenni Miller in her review. "And as wondrous as the talking animals are, as fabulous as the costumes are, as huge as the Red Queen's head is, it's nothing but a house of cards." (Psst - that's not a good thing.) I suspect there's still a strong curiosity factor here, especially for the Blu-ray version, so may I suggest: Rent it.

The Wolfman
It's a revival of a classic character from the Universal vault! It's got Benicio del Toro as a guy who turns into a wolf!
