Olivia Wilde is back in the director’s chair, as the “Booksmart” and “Don’t Worry Darling” filmmaker is currently filming her third directorial outing, “The Invite,” first reported by Variety and confirmed by IndieWire. Wilde, who also had a small role in “Don’t Worry Darling,” will also appear in the film, alongside a cast that also includes Seth Rogen (who she recently appeared alongside in “The Studio”), Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton. Principal photography has started in Los Angeles.

Per Variety, the film is billed as “a provocative date night comedy inspired by the Spanish film ‘Sentimental.'” The original 2020 film, directed by Cesc Gay, was a smash in Spain and was nominated for multiple Goyas (winning Best Supporting Actor for star Alberto San Juan). The film follows two couples, neighbors who do not quite get along, who come together for a dinner date night that inspires some unexpected revelations.

Kaitlyn Dever, known for Booksmart and Apple Cider Vinegar, plays the controversial character. Multiple sources are reporting that Sam Neill (Jurassic Park; Thor: Ragnarok; Peaky Blinders) has joined the cast of Legendary's next MonsterVerse installment, the tentatively titled Godzilla x Kong 3.

Plot details are being kept strictly under wraps for now, but the studio has teased that the new film, which is being helmed by Grant Sputore, will follow “several new human characters alongside the beloved and iconic Titans Godzilla and Kong as they face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat.”

Golden Globe-nominated actress Beanie Feldstein is the latest star to join the cast of Only Murders of the Building season 5. To change their reputation, the pair decide to come out as trans. The logic behind this plan doesn’t completely hold up, but the execution leads to an entertaining and endearing coming-of-age drama.

In an interview with Variety, showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann exclusively revealed that Pantoliano is joining the cast of the massively successful show's sophomore season as Eugene, a character that's only briefly seen in the video game.

Apparently, it was Mazin's idea to make Eugene into a fully fleshed-out character, and Druckmann readily agreed. "I get excited when I see these opportunities," he told the outlet. "I'm like, 'Oh, I don't know Eugene that well!' The story we told [in the game] was somewhat superficial. The way this character comes in really gets to the heart of Joel [Pedro Pascal] and Ellie and their relationship."

When Belle claims that she's managing her terminal brain cancer diagnosis, as well as other diagnoses, without the help of traditional medicine and only nutrition and alternative wellness methods, she sees her empire take shape with The Whole Pantry. On Tuesday (February 4), it was announced that the 29-year-old actress – best known for her roles in The Bear, Theater Camp, and Booksmart – will be directing, writing, and starring in A24‘s upcoming comedy Peaked.

Molly will be co-writing the screenplay with her friend Allie Levitan, who was recently hired as a writer on Saturday Night Live.

Just last week, Molly was at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival promoting her new movie Oh, Hi! with co-star Logan Lerman.
