Lisa, who debuted in the acting industry with The White Lotus 3, gained a lot of appreciation for portraying a convincing hotelier, Mook. Even though she is a great singer and rapper in South Korea, her musical talent was not used in the American series. This raised a lot of questions in viewers’ minds and left everyone baffled. Now, the music supervisor of the series has opened up about it and addressed the reason.
For those who don’t know, the third season was set in Thailand’s culture, and Blackpink’s Lisa, who is originally a Thai national, also played one of the Thai people in the series. Her musical magic could have attracted more viewers or even increased the popularity of the series, but despite all of these, she only had a limited screen time.

Peter Wolf, has always been one of the great rock & roll raconteurs, ever since his days as the loudmouth singer of the J. Geils Band. But the Boston blues madman has finally written the book everyone always hoped he would write, with Waiting on the Moon: Artists, Poets, Drifters, Grifters, and Goddesses. It’s a music memoir like no other — instead of chronicling his rock-star career, Wolf tells stories about the characters he met along the way, from Muddy Waters to Andy Warhol, from Alfred Hitchcock to Bob Dylan. “I...

Photo Credit: Cunene Lacuna Coil have been one of metal’s powerhouse acts for over two decades. The latest entry in their discography, Sleepless Empire , showcases the best of what the band has to offer: pounding riffs, catchy choruses, and a sense of showmanship that would not be out of place on Broadway, let alone Madison Square Garden. Placing a marvelous bow on top of all of Lacuna Coil’s melodic offerings is Cristina Scabbia’s soaring voice. Her range opens musical doors that most would only dream of, and has provided the gateway for thousands of fans to enter the world of heavy music. You may know her from other spheres as well, as she has written a book, performed on multiple video game soundtracks, hosted panels, and provided hours of entertainment on Twitch. Along with her other nerdy interest, Scabbia is a massive anime fan, and was kind...

To say director Scott Derrickson likes to take his time between movies would be an understatement. His 2016 MCU hit Doctor Strange wasn't followed up until five years later by the 2021 horror smash The Black Phone. Now, four years after that, his latest thriller The Gorge is set to debut on Apple TV+ on Feb. 14, and first reactions to the film have revealed if it's worth the wait.
Folks who got an early preview of The Gorge are taking to X to share their thoughts about Derrickson's latest, which stars Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy as two snipers hired to guard either side of a deep and impenetrable gorge, without knowing what actually lies beneath them. Thus far, reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, which comes as no surprise, as Derrickson is the same person behind other hits like Sinister, and The Exorcism of Emily Rose; two movies that clearly prove the...

The world of Hollywood is unpredictable in its own unique way, and so forging a path in this land is not a job for everyone. This couldn’t hold more true than in the case of two of Tom Cruise’s ‘prodigies,’ Glen Powell and Miles Teller. Both actors appeared in the highly successful Top Gun 2, receiving an immense boost to their careers.
Hangman (Glen Powell) and Rooster (Miles Teller) in Top Gun: Maverick | Paramount Pictures
While Powell has been riding high on the success of the film and has mapped out a brilliant career for himself, the same cannot be said for Teller. However, this can change with his latest film. Starring in the horror thriller The Gorge alongside Anya Taylor-Joy, Teller can finally get to use some of his Top Gun 2 fame and follow in the footsteps of his co-star Glen Powell.

Heart Eyes oozes with blood and charm. The slasher pic delivers as both a romantic comedy and horror movie, just in time to make Valentine’s Day a little more fun this year. Director Josh Ruben takes cues from Jason Lives and Sleepless in Seattle, making meet-cutes and bloodbaths a damn fine pairing.
The titular killer is here to ruin Valentine’s Day. No lovers are safe. Everyone in Seattle is on edge, including Ally (Olivia Holt) and Jay (Mason Gooding) as they fall for each other—both literally and figuratively. Co-written by Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day), Heart Eyes is a sincere love letter to slashers and rom-coms.
Ruben stages some familiar genre tropes with great enthusiasm, similar to his directorial debut, Werewolves Within. Recently, the filmmaker spoke with Daily Dead about his latest acclaimed film.
[Editor's Note: Minor plot points and scenes are discussed, so if you want to remain entirely spoiler free, feel free to read this after checking out Heart Eyes for yourself. That said, if you've seen the latest trailer / clips,...

Did Tom Hanks turn down When Harry Met Sally? (Photo Credit – Prime Video)
Tom Hank’s wife, Rita Wilson, recently spilled the tea: Hanks turned down When Harry Met Sally because he was “very happy to be not married.” Let’s set the stage. It was the late ’80s, and Hanks was fresh off his divorce from Samantha Lewes, his college sweetheart.
Instead of wallowing in heartbreak, he was celebrating freedom like it was a national holiday. Wilson explained on the Table for Two With Bruce Bozzi podcast, “He turned it down because he was going through a divorce, and he was very happy to be not married. He could not understand that a person going through a divorce would have anything other than just like, ‘I’m so happy.’”

The supernatural spirit you play as in Slitterhead can possess anyone it comes across, but special "Rarity" characters can be recruited due to the unique powers they gain from being controlled. While you can forcibly take over everyone you come across, their blood is not strong enough to fend off the monsters you must fight. Rarities have strong combat abilities that help you fight back against various horrors.
Slitterhead revolves around possessing random individuals to defend yourself against many terrifying creatures that pursue you. Unlike hide-and-seek horror titles, this game has robust combat mechanics tied to Rarity characters. Instead of taking over a random citizen likely to die quickly, you can co-exist within a Rarity to wield specific abilities and powers tied to those characters.

Tom Hanks’ journey to Hollywood stardom is full of memorable moments, but one of his early, defining breakthroughs came thanks to an unexpected encounter on the beloved sitcom Happy Days. In 1982, Hanks guest-starred on the show as Dr. Dwayne Twitchell, a karate expert with a grudge against Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli, portrayed by Henry Winkler. In a pivotal scene, Hanks’ character shockingly kicked Fonzie through the stained-glass window of Al’s Drive-in, a moment that Hanks later credited as instrumental in launching his career as a leading man.

In the Happy Days episode titled A Little Case of Revenge, Hanks portrayed Dr. Twitchell, a former schoolmate of Fonzie’s who had harbored resentment since grade school. Seeking revenge, Twitchell confronts Fonzie in full karate attire, and in a memorable twist, kicks the iconic character through a stained-glass window.

The French creature feature Survive is making its way to North America, as Deadline reports that Samuel Goldwyn Films has picked up the distribution rights and are planning to give the film a theatrical and VOD release sometime in January.
Directed by Frédéric Jardin and from a screenplay written by Matt Alexander (which is actually a shared pseudonym for Mathieu Oullion and Alexandre Coquelle), Survive follows Julia and her loving husband who celebrate their son’s birthday on their boat in the middle of the ocean. When a violent storm nearly capsizes them, the family awakes in a desert land. Earth has undergone a tragic polarity reversal, draining water from the oceans. The family must race to safety before the water returns all while battling hungry creatures from the abyss that hunt for fresh flesh. That sounds like a set-up for a good time to me!

Quick Links Meg Ryan Was Animators First Choice for Anastasia Anastasia Could Now Be Considered a Disney Princess Anastasia Is the Perfect Disney Live-Action Remake Material
1997's Anastasia was an epic, animated musical and one of the surprising non-Disney endeavors when the entertainment giant was dominating the 1990s market. 20th Century Fox had owned the rights to Anastasia since the production of the 1956 film starring Ingrid Bergman, on which the 1997 remake was based. But adding music, new characters, and choosing to add a memorable list of songs to the retelling was a stroke of inspiration. Similar to George Bernard Shaw's play, Pygmalion -- which partially inspired the '97 film - Anastasia has seen many different iterations over the years from stage to screen. And though the leading character herself is based on a tragic historical figure, the story of her short life has reached mythical proportions.

Italian metal veterans Lacuna Coil have announced a new album titled Sleepless Empire. In advance of its February 14th release, the band has unleashed the single “Oxygen.”
Earlier this year, Lacuna Coil released the collaborative singles “Hosting the Shadow” (featuring Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe) and “In the Mean Time” (featuring New Years Day singer Ash Costello). Both of those tracks will appear on Sleepless Empire, which contains 11 songs in total.
Regarding the new song and its accompanying music video, co-vocalist Cristina Scabbia stated, “‘Oxygen’ is a powerful exploration of emotional struggle and inner conflict. The lyrics convey a sense of drowning in a toxic environment, both literally (in the video) and metaphorically, where attempts at salvation, represented by ‘oxygen’ are somehow futile. This song encapsulates the feeling of struggling to break free from what holds us down, when the journey is filled with difficulty.”
She added, “It’s a raw anthem of vulnerability,...

The tragedy of being the most successful person on a job is that all eyes are trained on the star. For celebrities and filmmakers, that attention and scrutiny increases tenfold due to the nature of their profession. The allure of love—it truly is the most beautiful feeling in the world, isn’t it? Love has a force so profound that it can stir souls, shape destinies, and etch momentous moments into the canvas of our lives. Now, imagine that force captured on the big screen, as exemplified by Tom Hanks and the timeless love story embedded in Robert Zemeckis’ Forrest Gump.
Can you feel the magic? But did you know that behind the scenes, it was Hanks’ admiration for his actress wife, Rita Wilson, that infused such honesty & warmth into every frame of the 1994 film? Without the latter’s influence, the enchanting narrative between Hanks’ Forrest & Robin Wright’s Jenny might have lacked its heartfelt essence.

Jamie Foxx has garnered a reputation for engagingly portraying a range of characters spanning dramatic biopics to legal dramas and even irreverent comedy. As a performer, his physicality is on full display in 2017's consistently entertaining, if slightly policier, Sleepless. A breathless remake of a 2011 French film, Baran bo Odar's relentless flick rattles from one set piece to another at a breakneck pace, and the success of its straightforward explosiveness rests largely on the shoulders of its ultra-determined protagonist, Foxx's Lvmpd Officer Vincent Downs, and the outstanding support cast which includes Michelle Monaghan, David Harbour, Scoot McNairy, Dermot Mulroney, Gabrielle Union.

Tom Hanks is known for his good-guy characters in his films. Be it romantic comedies such as You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle, or dramas such as Forrest Gump and Philadelphia, the actor always plays roles that represent the morally right side of humanity. With his penchant for such sweet roles, he has been nicknamed the Dad of Hollywood.
However, Hanks reportedly does not have the need to stick to such roles. He recently played Elvis Presley’s antagonistic manager Col. Tom Parker in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, which was different from his usual good-guy roles. He has also mentioned that he fought against decisions made by directors to portray him as a good guy, especially in a pivotal scene in his Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump.

The actors have made three romantic comedies together combining their winning chemistry with some unique love stories and a good sense of humor. The One Piece world is filled with epic battles and fights that are considered some of the most interesting combats in anime history. Between these fights, the one character that makes the most appearances is Luffy, the protagonist of the series. Over almost 30 years, Luffy has had some great battles where he came out victorious almost every time.
Straw Hat Luffy in One Piece
However, he may not always win the fight on the first try. It takes him some time to adapt to his enemies and their fighting style and then come up with a technique or move that can defeat them. This is how he developed the infamous Gear forms that saved him from the likes of Rob Lucci, Doflamingo, and even the Strongest Creature in the world, Kaido.
Among all of his battles, preferably the hardest and the most thrilling one as of yet is his fight against Kaido.

Instead of a direct sequel, Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney should star in a new rom-com together for continued success. Similar to Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan reuniting in You've Got Mail after Sleepless in Seattle, Powell and Sweeney should reunite in a different rom-com. Anyone but You 2 doesn't need a sequel, but Powell and Sweeney could still utilize their chemistry in another rom-com.

The odds of a director's first choice actor accepting a role are slim. Tom Hanks wasn't first choice for Forrest Gump. The course of Hollywood history would be drastically different if actors like Harrison Ford and Sigourney Weaver didn't portray iconic characters in certain movies. Michelle Pfeiffer passed on Silence of the Lambs due to the movie's dark tone, allowing Jodie Foster to play the role of Clarice Sterling.
Some of the characters in the best movies of all time were meant to go to someone other than the actors who are now incredibly famous for playing them. The casting process is typically extensive with directors and producers considering many possibilities. And actors are not always able to take on the roles they want because of scheduling issues. They may also turn down movies because they dislike the tone or message of the story.

There are few filmmakers as readily and effortlessly associated with the rom-com genre as Nora Ephron. With warm and fuzzy rom-coms like When Harry Met Sally, You've Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle, Ephron defined the quintessential charm of 90s romance. So, it came as a surprise to see the auteur filmmaker directing the dark comedy, Lucky Numbers in 2000, a movie which was so devoid of the signature Ephron tenderness and joy that you just couldn’t trace any of her signature essence in it. Unlike Ephron's previous works where you couldn't help but root for two individuals to get together, here, you are, at best, apathetic to the romance of the couple, and at worst, annoyed every time they share the screen together.

In 2016, David Harbour hit the big time as an actor with his work as Sheriff Jim Hopper on Stranger Things. Immediately, Harbour became an A-list figure that audiences immediately recognized the world over. Of course, Harbour has had a long career beyond the confines of Stranger Things, including countless character actor roles in movies. For a good while, Harbour was a go-to figure to play tough guy bruisers in supporting roles in movies like Black Mass, A Walk Among the Tombstones, and Sleepless. In the wake of Stranger Things, Harbour has shifted over to taking on more prominent roles in movies like Black Widow, Violent Night, and Gran Turismo. One of the more obscure movies he's shown up in since that breakout Netflix hit, though, sees the actor give his best performance to date. That feature is the 2021 Steven Soderbergh title No Sudden Move.

In the late '80s and throughout the '90s, Meg Ryan absolutely owned the rom-com genre. From unforgettable roles in When Harry Met Sally to collaborations with Tom Hanks like Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail, she cornered the market as the girl next door that was just so likable, we could barely contain ourselves. Julia Roberts gave her a run for her money for the crown of the romantic comedy queen, but Ryan brought a level of spunk and energy that had us all eating out of the palm of her hand. So when she stepped out of her comfort zone in 1993 with the neo-noir Western drama Flesh and Bone, it was risky considering the niche she had already carved out for herself in Hollywood. And even though it didn't pay off at the box office, Ryan delivered a performance that made audiences take note that she...

Thirty years ago, a single love story would change the course of a genre, and a classic was established within film history. Sleepless in Seattle has earned its legacy as a memorable romance film since it was released on the big screen back in 1993. While it wasn't the highest-grossing movie from the year it was released in, it managed to earn an amount ten times bigger than its budget, proving to be a successful endeavor for TriStar Pictures. Added to that, it scored two Academy Awards nominations in the months after its debut. It didn't need to win in either category to prove the massive impact it had on pop culture at the time.
