Maybe she shifted a few pounds in that hotel room.

A couple of housekeepers were making the rounds in a hotel frequented mostly by lovers, prostitutes or kinky people. They get in a room after the classic "room service" talk to realize there was a lot of blood in the bed sheet and no sign of anyone. Detectives sent right away the blood stains to forensics, but the DNA didn't match to anyone in the system. The room was booked by a credit card owned by a rich businessman whose daughter (Lucy Boynton) attends an uptown private school. In the last months her fellow mates noticed she got fat, putting on weight gradually: it's clear she was pregnant and forensic analysis proves the blood came from an offspring. The teenage girl admits she suffered from a miscarriage, but evidences pointed out her baby would be born safe and sound with proper care. Anyway the trial is a long-lasting one.

The episode shows us the law is not equal for everybody. If you had money, you had influence and you can afford the best lawyers. As Hawkins correctly stated: what if there was a couple of hoodies in the dock?
