The cast of the latest Harlan Coben Netflix series adaptation, “I Will Find You,” has added four new cast members.

Variety has learned that Britt Lower, Logan Browning, Erin Richards, and Milo Ventimgilia will all appear in the limited series alongside lead Sam Worthington.

Based on Coben’s novel of the same name, the official logline states, “An innocent father (Worthington) serving life for the murder of his own son receives evidence that his child may still be alive—and must break out of prison to find out the truth.”

Lower will play Rachel Mills, described as “David’s ex-sister-in-law and a former decorated reporter whose life fell apart after she was fired. When she discovers evidence suggesting an incredible secret, Rachel views it as a once-in-a-lifetime story that could be her ticket back to journalism.”

Lower currently stars in the hit Apple TV+ series “Severance,” which recently aired its second season finale.

Fans of the mind-bending thriller Severance know Britt Lower as Helly R, a character whose struggle against the dystopian Lumon Industries has made her one of television's most riveting leads. Yet before she got severed, Lower approached another style of surrealism in one of the best romantic comedy shows of the 2010s, if not ever: Man Seeking Woman.

Playing overachieving attorney Liz, sister to main character Josh Greenberg (Jay Baruchel), Lower demonstrated her on-the-nose comedic timing and range that would later make her a standout in Severance. She described the show to TV Insider this way: "This show is kind of like waking up inside of a dream, and you’re not sure if it’s going to be a fantasy dream or if it’s going to be a total nightmare, and oftentimes, it’s both." “Severance” is finally back but there are a lot of characters to keep track of and remember in the three years since Season 1.

The Apple TV+ series follows a group of employees at the mysterious Lumon who underwent a procedure that “severs” their consciousness so one version of themselves is constantly at work and knows nothing of the outside world and vice versa. Adam Scott stars in the series as the leader of one of the company teams trying to uncover the mysterious happenings at Lumon.

The Saturday Night Live star opened up about his frustrations with the internet during the “I don’t think so, honey” segment of his and co-host Matt Rogers’ latest Las Culturistas podcast episode.

Exclusive: Industry‘s Ken Leung has signed with Paradigm for representation in all areas.

The news comes fresh on the heels of explosive Season 3 finale of the HBO finance drama, in which Leung’s rough-around-the-edges character Eric Tao sees his world turned upside down when the future of investment bank Pierpoint is called into question.

Industry has generated quite a bit of buzz this season, moving into HBO’s marquee Sunday night primetime window for the first time. As was the hope, the series has increased its visibility to attract its best audiences ever. Industry has already been renewed for Season 4.

Leung will next be seen in Joker: Folie À Deux, where he reunites with Industry co-star Harry Lawtey. He also recently shot a leading role in Justin Lin’s upcoming film Last Days, based on the story John Allen Chau.

Leung has expansive credits in both film and television.

The 4:30 Movie, the sixteenth feature film from director Kevin Smith, received a theatrical release on September 13th, and now it has been revealed that the movie is coming to 4K and Blu-ray on November 5th! Copies of the physical media versions of the movie are available for pre-order on Amazon – including an Amazon-exclusive steelbook edition where the case is designed to look like a large VHS tape and the discs look like VHS tape spools! Ryan Murphy is back at it with another installation of his “American Story” franchise. The long-awaited “American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez” centers on the rise and fall of former NFL star Aaron Hernandez.

It’s been three years since the series was first announced in August 2021, and now with the cast finalized and production wrapped, the project is right around the corner in a living room near you. “West Side Story” and “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” breakout Josh Rivera stars as Hernandez and here makes his TV debut.

The series lands on FX on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Here’s a list of the cast and the real-life figures they play.

HBO has reportedly given the green light to an untitled comedy series written by Rachel Sennott. Seeing Sennotts comedic talents, the premium cable channel ordered the pilot to film back in March, and it featured her as both creator and star. Directed by Lorene Scafaria, the series also boasts a talented cast including Odessa Azion, Miles Robbins, Jordan Firstman, and True Whitaker.

Sennott and Scafaria also executive produce alongside Emma Barrie and Aida Rodgers. As per Variety, Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO and Max comedy programming, is more than thrilled about moving forward with the project and has expressed her excitement by stating:

Rachel Sennott’s untitled comedy has been picked up to series at HBO, Variety has learned.

The project, which stars and is written and executive produced by the “Shiva Baby” actress, follows a codependent friend group that reunites, navigating how the time apart, ambition, and new relationships have changed them.

In addition to Sennott, the show’s cast includes Odessa A’zion, Jordan Firstman, Miles Robbins and True Whitaker (“Godfather of Harlem”).

The half-hour pilot, which received an order from the network back in March, is executive produced by Sennott, Emma Barrie (“Barry”), Aida Rodgers (“Barry”), and Lorene Scafaria (“Succession”), who directed.

Exclusive: Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day) and Joseph Cross (Lincoln) have signed on to star in Affection, a dark sci-fi horror film marking the feature debut of BT Meza, who directs from his own script.

Young up-and-comer Julianna Layne (Prodigal Son) will co-star alongside the duo.

The film follows Ellie (Rothe), who is stuck in a cyclical nightmare. Grappling with a condition that erratically resets her memory, she’s left unable to remember her husband (Cross) or daughter (Julianna Layne). Sawandi Wilson (“Star Trek: Discovery”) has joined the cast of “General Hospital,” reports Deadline.

According to the outlet, Wilson is set to make his debut on the ABC daytime drama series on Monday, August 26, playing the role of Isaiah, a character with a connection to Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson).

Best known for playing Captain Leto in the 10th episode of the fifth and final season of “Star Trek: Discovery,” Wilson has appeared in numerous other TV shows throughout his career, including “High Maintenance,” “Quantico,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Date. Love. Repeat.,” “Bull,” “The House of Flowers,” “Harlem” and even the Prime Video series “Dudes.”

No further details were available about Wilson’s role on “General Hospital.”

Exclusive: Calvin Leon Smith, who appeared in the Tony-nominated comedy Fat Ham, will return to Broadway this fall when he takes over the role of Cabaret‘s Clifford Bradshaw from Ato Blankson-Wood.

Smith will be part of a replacement cast that includes Adam Lambert as Emcee and Auli’i Cravalho as Sally Bowles. Original cast members Eddie Redmayne, Gayle Rankin and Blankson-Wood end their limited engagements Sunday, September 14, with the new cast members beginning performances on Monday, September 16.

Smith’s casting was announced today by producers Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, Underbelly, Gavin Kalin Productions, Hunter Arnold, Smith & Brant Theatricals, and Wessex Grove.

Smith most recently appeared in James Ijames’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play Fat Ham in the role of Larry, a Marine with a secret. AppleTV+ recently released a trailer promoting their upcoming projects on the platform, and fans of Severance will rejoice as it contains the first glimpses of the long-awaited second season.

In the newly released AppleTV+ trailer, Adam Scott emerges from an elevator presumably as his "innie", as it cuts to Tramell Tillman's Milchick who says, "Welcome back. Been a minute," in his trademark strange delivery. It also features an excellent sequence involving Scott, laying on a conference table, before he begins to run down what appears to be the hallways at Lumon Industries. Though that was the extent of the footage shown in the trailer, it exhibited the classic mind-bending imagery and dialogue that fans of the show have come to expect.

A’zion has also appeared in multiple episodes of the CBS comedy “Ghosts” as well as shows like “Fam” and features such as 2022’s “Hellraiser.” Firstman recently appeared in the Marvel series “Ms. Marvel” at Disney+. Robbins appeared in multiple episodes of the award-winning Amazon series “Mozart in the Jungle.” Whitaker appeared alongside her father, Academy Award winner Forrest Whitaker, in “Godfather of Harlem.”

A’zion is repped by UTA, Luber Roklin, Granderson Des Rochers. Firstman is repped by UTA and Frankfurt Kurnit.

The 4:30 Movie is the sixteenth feature film from director Kevin Smith – and while he was making the movie, he thought he was making something that would get a PG-13 rating from the Motion Picture Association ratings board. But the MPA saw it differently. When they had the chance to watch the movie earlier this year, they felt the sexual references in the dialogue were enough for the movie to earn an R rating for sexual content. Smith appealed the rating (and subscribers to That Kevin Smith Club got some interesting insight into the appeals process), but the ratings board decided to stick with the R. They confirmed today that The 4:30 Movie will remain an R rated film.

Smith has a history of being able to get his films re-rated on appeal. Clerks and Zack and Miri Make a Porno were both given Nc-17 ratings, but were re-rated R on appeal.

Much like movies such as Bonnie and Clyde, The Graduate, Rosemary’s Baby and Easy Rider took the late 1960s by storm, a group of writers and directors are hoping that their own independent TV projects can break through and find their way to the small screen amidst the current Hollywood contraction.

After a number of web series such as Issa Rae’s The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl, Broad City and High Maintenance were turned into TV series over the past decade, writers and directors hoped that this would lead to more.

However, the rise of streaming originals saw the business go the other way, with incredibly expensive dramas and comedies, often led by movie stars, taking over. This trend is now waning and a new generation of creators hopes that cost-conscious companies will now pay more attention to their projects instead.

Dan Stevens will soon be heading to Las Vegas, where he’ll be needed onstage.

The busy actor has been selected to receive CinemaCon’s excellence in acting award at the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners. News of the honor comes ahead of a spell that will see Stevens on the big screen in back-to-back films like Adam Wingard’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire for Legendary and Warner Bros. HBO has ordered a half-hour pilot episode starring, written and executive produced by Rachel Sennott (“Bottoms”).

The untitled comedy project’s logline promises “a codependent friend group reunion,” in which the friends “navigate how their time apart, goals and new relationships have changed them,” TheWrap has learned.

“Barry” alums Emma Barrie and Aida Rodgers will executive produce alongside the “Bodies Bodies Bodies” and “Shiva Baby” star.

Sennott most recently starred as Pj, platonic other half to Ayo Edebiri’s Josie, in “Bottoms,” which she cowrote with director Emma Seligman. Seligman also directed Sennott in “Shiva Baby.”

Sennott also appeared alongside Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd in HBO’s “The Idol” as Leia. She starred as Alice in the A24 thriller-comedy, “Bodies Bodies Bodies.”

A graduate from NYU Tisch with a focus in acting, Sennott’s breakthrough performance came from Seligman’s “Shiva Baby,” originally a student film that was adapted into a full-length feature.

Netflix has acquired the independently produced sitcom “Tires” from stand-up comedian Shane Gillis, who stars and serves as an exec producer. The six-episode scripted comedy, which was self-financed, will premiere on May 23.

As part of the deal with Gillis, Netflix will also produce a new stand-up special with the comedian — his second for the streamer, following last fall’s “Beautiful Dogs.” The news comes in the wake of Gillis’ “Saturday Night Live” hosting gig this past weekend.

Gillis is also a writer and the co-creator of “Tires,” which stars Steven Gerben as Will, “the nervous and unqualified heir to an auto repair chain.” Will attempts to turn his father’s business around “despite constant torture from his cousin and now employee, Shane (Shane Gillis).”

Exclusive: Kimiko Glenn, the actress best known for her award-winning work on Netflix’s acclaimed series Orange Is the New Black, has signed with Artists First for management.

On Jenji Kohan’s groundbreaking Netflix series, centered on happenings within a minimum-security New York prison, Glenn played inmate Brook Soso. She joined the show in Season 2 and by the time it had aired all seven seasons, claimed three Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

Most recently, Glenn has been seen on ABC’s The Goldbergs, Facebook Watch’s Sacred Lies, Hulu’s History of the World Part II, Michelle Obama’s Netflix series Waffles + Mochi’s Restaurant, and Doug Ellin’s Ramble On opposite Martin & Charlie Sheen and Kevin Connolly. After 15 years of curating the best of short films, Vimeo is giving some insight into what makes a coveted Staff Pick.

The streaming platform for rising filmmakers launched a Generation Vimeo campaign to mark the 15th anniversary of the website. Staff Pick Best of the Year winning director Danae Gosset provided the animation for this short film inspired by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman’s “A Brief History of Baldessari” video, and directed and produced by Vimeo’s internal creative team, to share the behind-the-scenes process for selecting Staff Picks. “High Maintenance” co-creator Ben Sinclair provides the voiceover for the video, returning to Vimeo where the HBO series originated. Exclusive: Jermaine Fowler (Sorry to Bother You) has wrapped production on a new psychological thriller directed by Steve Pink (Hot Tub Time Machine).

Rounding out the cast of the pic, shot under a SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement, are James Morosini (I Love My Dad), Pauline Chalamet (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Edy Modica (Jury Duty), Rob Yang (Succession), and Brendan Hunt (Ted Lasso). Exclusive: Comedic multi-hyphenate Julio Torres (A24’s Problemista) has struck a deal with Ars Nova, the Off-Broadway, non-profit theater in NYC, that will see them partner to identify, develop, and commission full-length projects from early-career comedy artists.

The collaboration further expands Ars Nova’s two-decade commitment to new comedy at a time when support systems for NYC-based artists have decreased. Under the partnership, Torres and Ars Nova will look to provide comedians with opportunities for development and production outside of the traditional model of sketch shows and 10-minute sets. They’ll offer funding up front to create brand new, uniquely theatrical shows, while providing mentorship and development resources to the artists involved, the first set for a commission being Ars Nova Vision Residency Alum River L. Ramirez. Others will be announced at a later date.

To celebrate the alliance, Torres will return to the Ars Nova stage on October 26 to host Showgasm.

Nardeep Khurmi’s “Land of Gold,” which won AT&T’s Untold Stories award at the Tribeca Film Festival, will have a limited theatrical release on May 5 before premiering May 15 on HBO Max.

The film follows a first-generation Punjabi truck driver and terrified father-to-be who discovers a young Mexican-American girl inside his trailer after taking a last-minute job before his baby is due.

Khurmi wrote, directed and stars in the film opposite Caroline Valencia (“Only Murders in the Building”), Pallavi Sastry (“The Walking Dead: Dead City”), Iqbal Theba (“Glee”), and Riti Sachdeva (“High Maintenance”).
