Twelve years have gone by since the release of a new entry in the Scary Movie horror parody series – but the franchise isn’t going to remain dormant for much longer. Last April, it was announced that the Miramax label at Paramount, which is now operating under new boss Jonathan Glickman, had given the greenlight to a new Scary Movie sequel, with the plan being to get the film into theatres sometime in 2025. Now we know exactly when the new movie is going to be released… but it’s not going to be this year. Scary Movie 6 is scheduled to reach theatres on June 12, 2026. As of right now, we know this is going to put it in direct competition with the next movie from the Daniels, the directing duo behind Best Picture Oscar winner Everything Everywhere All at Once.

The 2000s were the golden age of parody comedy films, with genre-specific lampoons taking broad swings at every trope under the sun. Did America need an absurdist distraction during the height of the Bush administration? Perhaps. The kings of the parody genre were unquestionably the Wayans brothers with their first Scary Movie which debuted in 2000. Now, the brothers are returning to the Scary Movie franchise with the sixth installment, after stepping away from the property after Scary Movie 2. During a recent appearance in BigBoy TV, Marlon Wayans gave an update regarding the release of the long-awaited sequel, revealing that Scary Movie 6 is eyeing 2026.
News of the trio coming back to the Scary Movie series broke back in October of this year. Marlon Wayans posted on Instagram a picture with the smiling Ghostface that now has over 1.2 million likes. Officially, the Wayans brothers have since spoken to Deadline and...

Ferguson stars in the yet-to-be-titled movie as a teenage girl who accidentally unleashes an ancient and mischievous spirit on Halloween, causing decorations to come alive and wreak havoc. Ferguson received a SAG award nomination in 2020 for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama. It's been 20 years since Marlon Wayans brought Scary Movie and it's sequels to screens, and now he's getting in the Halloween spirit again for a new comedy adventure for Netflix. Wayans will star in and produce the as yet untitled movie under the direction of Jeff Wadlow, from a scipt by Rob Rugan, Todd Berger and John R Morey. The Scary Movie series, and the various parody movies they inspired, were not exactly a serious movie, with the emphasis definitely on gross-out moments and having a swipe at some famous horror franchises along the way. It sounds like Wayans' new foray into the spooky comedy genre is a little more of a genuine affair.
The movie plot will see a teenage girl accidentally unleashing a spirit on Halloween, leading to a whole bunch of mayhem ensuing, including decorations coming to life and causing spooky chaos. This leads to the teen...

The Wayans brothers have never exactly been bastions of high quality cinema, with Marlon in particular a repeat offender responsible for a string of terrible comedies like Little Man, Dance Flick, A Haunted House and the sequel, Fifty Shades of Black, Naked and Sextuplets. None of those movies found anything even approaching critical acclaim, but several of them did decent business at the box office and the 48 year-old has been collaborating with Netflix on a regular basis, so there must be a good sized audience for his work.
One entry from the writer/actor/producer’s back catalogue that’s remained inexplicably popular is White Chicks, the 2004 comedic effort directed by Keenen Ivory and starring Shawn and Marlon in the lead roles. It sees two sibling FBI agents go undercover and end up tasked with protecting the socialite Wilson sisters, before eventually being forced to disguise themselves as the titular white chicks.

Marlon Wayans is getting into business with HBO Max. The actor and comedian has struck an overall deal with the WarnerMedia streaming service and has set a number of projects.
The digital platform is developing a pilot for Book of Marlon, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself as he attempts to reconcile being a good person and father with being Marlon. Wayans has co-created the show with his long-time producing partner Rick Alvarez and will star. Wayans and Alvarez have written the pilot.
It is the first scripted project that HBO Max and Wayans have identified as part of a first-look deal at his scripted and unscripted projects.
Separately, he will perform a stand-up special for the service as well as host another multi-act special. His own, as-yet-untitled special, will look at his life and will “dig even deeper” than his recent special Woke-ish.

Once the funniest and most ubiquitous family in Hollywood, the Wayans siblings — Damon, Keenen Ivory, Kim, Shawn and so on — have largely faded from the scene in recent years, leaving youngest brother Marlon (now nearing 50) to carry the mantle. Audiences may not be showing up for sendups like “Scary Movie” and “Dance Flick” like they used to, but Marlon has figured out a foolproof solution: Make lowbrow laffers with search-friendly titles directly for Netflix, and the checks keep rolling in.
First it was “Naked” — a “Groundhog Day”-style infinite-repeat scenario in which Marlon plays a groom who wakes up au naturel on his wedding day, over and over until he gets it right — and now it’s “Sextuplets,” which is the first thing that pops up when you type “S-e-x” into Netflix. There are some movies that are just quintessentially ‘90s. The movies where one comedian plays all the characters, the irreverent humor, the slapstick comedy, it all contributed to a great ‘90s film.
Today we have a trailer for you to enjoy that looks like it’s right out of that camp. Marlon Wayans is back with a hilarious and ridiculous film called Sextuplets about a guy who sets out to find his birth family. He is surprised to learn that he was a sextuplet and dreams of the siblings he never knew.
He goes out to find them and is met with an insane group of weirdos (all played by him) that take him on the ride of a lifetime. I laughed so hard during this stupid trailer that I think I have to see this movie. It looks like it will be a hilariously good time.

Netflix has dropped the first trailer for their upcoming Sextuplets movie. Marlon Wayans stars and plays six characters in the comedy. Playing multiple characters in a comedy is not a new idea, but Wayans seems to be putting his own spin on things, though there have immediately been the inevitable comparisons to Eddie Murphy's roles in Coming to America and the Nutty Professor franchise. Mike Myers also did the same thing in the Austin Powers franchise.
Sextuplets features Marlon Wayans' character Alan as he and his wife are expecting their first child. Before the baby comes, Alan is intent on finding his birth mother and while doing research, he meets his brother, Russell, and discovers that he was born a sextuplet. From there, the duo seek to find the four other siblings. Things unfold rather quickly in the trailer as we're introduced to all of Alan's siblings and everything goes off the rails.

There was a moment when Eddie Murphy was known for his penchant for playing multiple characters in his comedies. Perhaps his best film featuring this gimmick is “Coming to America.” However, after that film came “The Nutty Professor” and its sequel ‘The Klumps.’ Now, in 2019, Marlon Wayans is here to carry the torch for this brand of whacky, multiple character comedy with the Netflix film “Sextuplets.”

"Since we hit the road together, I've done things I've only seen on television." Netflix has just launched an official trailer for a new comedy from Marlon Wayans titled Sextuplets, and it looks as awful as it sounds and seems just from that title alone. From the director of the spoofs A Haunted House and Fifty Shades of Black comes a new comedy about an expecting father-to-be who discovers that he has many other siblings and tries to track them down before his baby is born. This is a spoof on, another comedy, maybe? But who cares, it looks terrible. Marlon Wayans stars in the lead role, and plays all the other siblings, much like Tyler Perry does in his movies. The cast also includes Molly Shannon, Glynn Turman, Bresha Webb, Debbi Morgan, and Michael Ian Black. Why do they still make these kind of movies? It looks so, so bad.

The streaming service will debut six new movies and five of them are comedies, including a supercheesy Christina Milian-led romance, a romp about three empty nesters who decide to wreak havoc on their adult children's lives, and a wacky movie starring six Marlon Wayanses. We've also got movies coming in from Spain and France, so if you're in need of some comic relief, Neflix has got you covered. Just check out all the hilarious movies debuting this month.

There will be no third season for Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It. Netflix has opted not to renew the series based on Lee’s first movie for a third go-round.
“Spike Lee is one of the greatest filmmakers of all time and we’re thrilled he brought the series She’s Gotta Have It to Netflix,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer, Netflix. “While this is our last season, we’re very proud that it will be on our service for years to come, and excited to be working with Spike on his upcoming Netflix film Da 5 Bloods.”
The series is expected to be shopped elsewhere, I hear.
Billed as “a seriously sexy comedy and rousing celebration of female empowerment,” the sophomore run of the series based on the 1986 film consists of nine episodes. Per the logline: Season 2 offers a...

It comes as little surprise that Bill Murray is in Sofia Coppola’s upcoming “On the Rocks,” but the latest addition to the cast is a bit unusual: Marlon Wayans, who just joined the joint venture between Apple and A24. The actor, comedian, and screenwriter has mostly appeared in comedies throughout his career, from spoofs like “Scary Movie” and “A Haunted House” to TV series like “In Living Color” and his sitcom “Marlon,” but his filmography is not without auteur projects: Wayans worked with Darren Aronofsky on “Requiem for a Dream” and the Coen Brothers on “The Ladykillers.”
He’s also been involved with several Netflix projects of late, starring in 2017’s “Naked” and the upcoming “Sextuplets”; the streaming service also has exclusive rights to “Marlon” in many regions, advertising it as a Netflix Original outside the Us. Deadline first broke the news of his casting.
