It's watchable to the end, by turns amusing and irritating, ultimately soft hearted.
However the outstanding reason to watch is is Lisa Kudrow. She is superb, bring tremendous nuance to her scenes, very funny and also touching. Why is she not in more and better shows/ films?

You can see from other reviews what it's as all about. Just watched this on Sky (UK) and it went from seeming just OK and possibly predictable in episode 1 through a string of surprises and jolts which were MOSTLY plausible enough to be exciting.
Yes it hints at a second season which is never going to happen but I think it was best left at that.
I don't agree with comments which damned the writing and acting - the more I watched the more I respected the performances and there were some really well written scenes.
It's not top drawer tv drama but it doesn't try to be - it's gripping and totally watchable.

Just finished bingeing the two seasons and wife and I are still reeling from the climax. Season 1 was really good but raised the question of how to inject new vitality into the plot for season 2, not just more drug deals and rivalries.
How that need has been addressed required a great idea and a superb performance. Bren may be the scariest character I've ever seen on television.
Meanwhile the rest of the cast continue tremendous work. Special mention for Birdy - what an expressive face!
It's all far more credible than many other very watchable shows (Line of Duty, Sherwood) and largely avoids tedious sentimental interludes. Overall extremely gripping and a brilliantly carried off ending.
