What happenned here? This could have been a serious, dark themed powerhouse of a show but instead ,It descended rapidly into mediocrity shortly after the opening prologue...Not even Michelle Yeoh could save this stinker of a sham of a scifi..In truth, it is the writers that destroyed what this could have been...Academy actress Miss yeoh came off as comedically campy, making goo goo eyes at the other actors in ways so silly that you would have thought she was a B movie actress...This was so bad that I watched it with the remote ready to fastforward through the silliness ,of which there was Alot..This started off in the opening moments with a Bang..Intense, big budget feeling, cinematic and dark themed...It looked like a truly exciting opening to a new series...It quickly went in the worst possible direction After that opening prologue... Campy ,silly, over the top B movie acting .. You are like What am I watching? It was as if there were 2 differing ideas going on here as to how this movie was going to proceed...2 paths.. they chose the wrong one...
I Absolutely Loved this season !! The Depth of storytelling here is its charm, along with the Beauty of the artwork and the soul that each actor infuses into this work..Some of the scenes are Stunning to behold , for example: when Drolta, in her Transformed form, complete with wings and tail,, is shown in profile towering over a female soldier whom she has grasped around the throat and held in front of her like a small ragdoll... Whoaa!! This series to me is every bit as good as Casltlevania and stands well even on its own..Powerful
Impactful dialogue and Ferocity from the females especiallv the queen vamp and Drolta!! If you love tales of the Night,Vamps and Magic then these series are not to be missed. Even if you are not a fan of animation but like the topic matter, these series will take your breath away!
When these came out, I actually thought they were going to be an animated continuation of the live action movie, picking up where it left off. Instaed, its an animated rehash, word for word and almost scene for scene..So I would ask: what is the sense? While the animation is good and even the acting here is decent, its redundant and the rehash is completely unneeded when there is a movie with outstanding acting and story and live visuals..
In other words, the live action movie absolutely eclipses and exceeds anything you would see in this comic animation...There is no comparison.... Now if the live movie did Not exist, then this animation would have rated well Or if it was a sequel and continuation of the movie in animated form, it would have rated well by telling something New...As it stands, once I started watching it, I could only feel WHY?
