A man ‘who took the law into his own hands’ after a break-in at his house has received a suspended sentence on a charge of violent disorder.

Brendan Toal (30), with an address at the time at Ashling Park, Dundalk, pleaded guilty to the offence which occurred on May 1, 2021. A charge of production of a weapon was taken into consideration.
