🪨 Two birds, one pump: How manufacturers can ramp up cost and emissions savings with a better boiler alternative. 💡 As electricity demand grows, many manufacturers are looking to reach their sustainability goals without sacrificing energy efficiency. For steam production, AtmosZero is bringing an innovative solution to the market: Boiler 2.0. Light industry is moving at lightning speed towards electrification. ⚡️ Our CEO, Addison Stark, explains how we at AtmosZero are positioning ourselves to ensure we’re at the forefront of this push with our industrial steam generating heat pump, Boiler 2.0. From the very beginning, we have designed Boiler 2.0 to be a product that make sense economically, independent of government subsidies. ⚡️ Industrial electrification is gaining momentum in the U.S. Electrification of many low- to medium-temperature processes can help manufacturers improve efficiency and stabilize and reduce costs. American manufacturers are beginning to adopt technologies like industrial heat pumps all across the country. But while industrial electrification is clearly gaining momentum, we need to accelerate this shift even more to avoid being outpaced by global competitors. The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) recently released a new map showing dozens of installed and planned industrial electrification projects in sectors including food and beverage manufacturing, and chemicals. It shows that projects are spread across the country, with AtmosZero proudly sitting at the center of the American heartland. Interesting article in The Wall Street Journal today with insightful quotes from my friends Alex Grant & Tim Heidel, along with Jacob Bro partner at 2150, one of our major investors. It is clear that there are headwinds against American climate tech companies right now, particularly those who over-indexed on government grants and subsidies from IRA to underwrite projects and business models that otherwise wouldn’t pencil. However, I think that there is a risk of swinging too far the other way with the pendulum in messaging and core business model. Decarbonization is a decadal macro-trend that will continue to drive the global economy. Staying the course in a measured way will win the day. As has always been the case, the best companies are going to succeed by delivering products that provide value to customers on multiple dimensions. Today at AtmosZero we see demand for our products being driven by multiple factors beyond decarbonization including: (1) Economics: Improvement of total on-site resource efficiency leading to economic savings. (2) Pollutant reduction: elimination of on-site emissions of NOx, SOx and particulates, thus easing local air permitting. (3) Energy & Supply Chain Security: enabling fuel-switching and increasing security of steam production capacity through electrification (4) Global regulatory compliance: The rest of the world is not the US, and there are multiple markets that remain very bullish on adopting and winning the race towards decarbonization.
