SOP BABY YOU KNOW ME: I'm just going to say it... If you do not have Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in place you risk inconsistencies in service delivery, higher error rates, and firm wide inefficiencies. So what are SOPs anyway? Standard Operating Procedures or SOPs is just a fancy way of documenting your day to day processes to make them repeatable. Creating SOPs are front loaded with work, but worth their weight in gold. Here are four P's to remember when creating your SOP outline: 👉 Purpose, which explains why the SOP is necessary; 👉 Procedure, detailing how the tasks are performed; 👉 People, identifying who is involved and their responsibilities; and 👉 Protection, which covers the safety and compliance measures required. At Beyond Paralegals we love adding easy to follow flow charts to our SOPs. Why?
