Exodus is introducing as part of our rollout, a monthly subscription for the parents of school-going children across all of Mombasa’s schools. Parents will be able to enroll their children into the program enabling their children to tap in and out of vetted, green buses and mini-vans under the ‘Move Mombasa’ banner. Parents will be able to confirm the details of the buses their children are in and even know when their children got to school. This is important for two reasons: 1. Affordability: Returning concessionary pricing on a well structured public transport model. Parents currently pay more than double the amount they’d spend on normal fares for their children’s commutes. We’re tackling that problem with our technology and empowering parents. 2. Safety and Security: Subscribe to the service as a parent, and you facilitate your child’s transport experience to the accredited Move Mombasa product that Exodus provides without the dangers of substance abuse, sexual misconduct and other unfortunate features of current public transport. Moreover, you can track your child’s commute. Thinking of children has forced us to think hard about the foundational principles of a good public transport experience. The way we see it, if it’s good enough for children, it’s good enough for everyone. Yesterday, we enrolled our first students in the program from Ganjoni Primary School right before the holidays. By the beginning of the next school term in May, we will have covered all schools in Mombasa within our digital network enabling both students and parents to have a safe and high quality transportation option for their commutes.
Excellent work Kikonde Mwatela . This is such a great innovation. Simplicity and flexibility at its best 👌. Making the world a better place a day at a time. Any plans to roll this out to other parts of the country?
Excellent work Kikonde!
Leveraging technology 👏🏿.
This is great! Kids are often the last priority in public transport.
This is amazing work Kikonde Mwatela. Necessity is truly the mother of all inventions.
Jennifer Kaberi I remember your passion for childtech and your question at Accelerate Africa demo day and Iyinoluwa Aboyeji response that they are open to more founders in this space. Here's one right up that alley. Impressive work Kikonde Mwatela
Excellent work Kikonde
Wow! Congratulations on the launch! With just a camera at the bus door, an AI-enabled facial recognition system can enhance security by automatically tracking students boarding the buses, detecting strangers, and alerting drivers if a child is missing. Let's talk! 😊
