CAERNARFON Town are set to make their first signing since the departure of Sean Eardley.
The Chronicle understands that Huw Griffiths has secured the services of hometown player Cory Williams, who is set to make a sensational return to The Oval from Llandudno.
Williams is widely regarded as one of the most talented players in the region and will bolster the Cofis’ options considerably as they look to secure another top-six finish in the JD Cymru Premier next season.
The player signed on at Maesdu Park during the January transfer window and played a part in their mini-resurgence before the Football Association of Wales curtailed the season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Prior to joining Tudno, Williams enjoyed a hugely successful three-year spell at nearby Conwy Borough, where he played a leading role in the promotion back to the JD Cymru North following a memorable treble winning campaign.
The Tangerines scooped the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One title, the Cookson Cup and national success in the form of the FAW Trophy.
Williams boasts plenty of experience at high profile clubs across the region including Rhyl, and Colwyn Bay, and his exceptional form as a youngster also saw him secure a move to National League side Chester before returning to the Welsh domestic system.
He now gets another chance to prove his worth closer to home, and Williams is one of many fresh faces that could be set to join the Cofis throughout the summer.
