On SUNDAY, May 18, 2025 from 6 – 8 PM, Caller Paul Poresky and The Outstanding Open Band will provide live Celtic & Old-Time string band music. Hosted by the South Coast Folk Society, The Open Band welcomes all acoustic musicians who want to read the music and play along. Contact Accordionist & Band Director Sharon Rogers for more info. All dances will be taught, and no partner is needed. Beginners welcome. A newcomer's workshop will be held at 5:45 pm. Admission is $5-10 sliding scale donation at the door. Kids under 13 Free. Refreshments and beverages will be available for purchase as a Grange fundraiser.
A caller for many years, Paul Poresky is known for smooth contras & fast squares. His teaching style is clear & concise. Beginners catch on quickly. Paul is also involved with the International Folk Dance community on the Oregon Coast and serves on the Board of the South Coast Folk Society. Paul's calling will raise the energy level on the dance floor to wonderful heights as the Outstanding Open Band plays reels, jigs, waltzes and more. Y’All Come!
