Star Wars: Mark Hamill hints Harry Styles has secret cameo in The Rise Of Skywalker
‘All the clues point in one direction,’ wrote the actor on Twitter
Mark Hamill has a dropped a heavy hint that Harry Styles makes a secret cameo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The actor – who plays Luke Skywalker – posted a tweet teasing fans that the former One Direction star might appear as a storm trooper in the new film.
“Tonight #TheRiseOfSkywalker Premiere finally brings closure to my dysfunctional family!” Hamill wrote. “Wonder who’ll be the #SecretStormtrooper in this one? Considering they’ve all been UK Superstars (2 Royals+2 Actors) but still no singer, all the clues point in one direction: #Stylestrooper.”
Hamill added a photo of Styles in a Stormtrooper outfit into the tweet, but it is unclear whether the picture is a mock-up.
Styles was previously speculated to have auditioned for the role of young Han Solo in Ron Howard’s film Solo, but the part was given to Alden Ehrenreich.
Daniel Craig, Tom Hardy, Prince William and Prince Harry have dressed as storm troopers in previous films in the franchise.
The Independent‘s critic Clarisse Loughrey gave The Rise of Skywalker three stars, writing that the film “misses the depth its predecessor brought”.
The Rise of Skywalker will be released in UK cinemas on Thursday 19 December.
