Irish vet clinic seeks professional ‘cat cuddler’
Are you a cat person?

If you’re looking to switch up your career path and have yet to stumble upon your dream job, it might be time to think outside the box.
There’s more to life than just desk jobs; you can now earn money by travelling to Dubai with no qualifications or by staying in luxury resorts in Cancun for the “experience” - even simply having a beard can earn you pennies these days.
However, if cats are your thing, there’s only one role out there for you: professional cat cuddler.
Just Cats in Clonsilla, Dublin is the city’s only vet exclusively dedicated to cats - they even describe themselves as a "no dogs" veterinary clinic on their website.
“We are an equal opportunities employer, however we do discriminate against dogs attending our veterinary clinic as patients,” their site reads.
In terms of what you need to qualify for the esteemed role of cat cuddler, being a “crazy cat person” who loves cats more than people might help, while having some natural "cattitude" is also bound to work in your favour.
The job description also states that the ideal candidate will have “gentle hands capable of petting and stroking cats for long periods of time”.
“They need to be softly spoke and capable of cat whispering to calm the nerves of some of our in patients [sic].
“An ability to understand different types of purring is a distinct added advantage in helping you secure this position with us.”
However, it’s not quite as simple as proudly showing off your “gentle hands” in an interview; a veterinary council of Ireland recognised qualification is essential for the role.
Just when you thought you were in with a shot...
