THE Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs is in "good spirits" despite suffering a stroke which has left him unable to speak, his son said yesterday.
Biggs, who has been a fugitive from British justice since escaping from Wandsworth Prison in 1965, collapsed at his home in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a week ago.
The 68-year-old had emergency treatment at the city's Sao Silvestre Hospital and was allowed home under medical supervision.
His son, Michael, 22, said his father was in good spirits even though doctors have warned his speech may not return for at least a week.
