Melania Trump interview: Everything we know about first lady’s ABC exclusive on Friday
Ms Trump expected to open up about marriage to president in sit-down chat with presenter Tom Llamas
Melania Trump, the first lady, has given a rare solo TV interview which will be broadcast on Friday.
Ms Trump will open up about her relationship with president Donald Trump, a topic she does not regularly discuss, during the exclusive interview with ABC News host Tom Llamas which was recorded during her trip to Kenya last week.
Since moving into the White House last year, the 48-year-old former fashion model has rarely spoken to the media.
What will Melania Trump talk about during the interview?
ABC News has promised the interview with Ms Trump, broadcast as part of an hour-long programme, will be “wide-ranging”. A teaser video released by the US news network shows presenter Mr Llamas asking the first lady about her husband’s alleged affairs.
In the clip, he asks her: “You’re not the first first lady to have to deal with your husband’s alleged infidelities. Has this put a strain on your marriage?”
Ms Trump will also discuss the #MeToo movement against sexual assault, and her trip to visit children at a migrant detention centre in Texas in June, at which she wore a controversial jacket with the slogan “I really don’t care, do u?” emblazoned on the back.
The first lady will also be asked what the “biggest misconception” about her is.
What time is the Melania Trump interview on TV?
Ms Trump’s ABC News interview, titled Being Melania, will be broadcast at 10pm EST on Friday (3am BST on Saturday).
