West Brom vs Manchester United: Ander Herrera boost and latest injury news
Midfielder tells Louis van Gaal he is ready to return

Ander Herrera has reportedly told Louis van Gaal that he will be ready to play in Manchester United's game against West Brom on Monday night, although will need a painkilling injection.
The news will be a welcome boost to Louis van Gaal as the injury crisis that has engulfed the club begins to ease.
Among those on the treatment table immediately following United's most recent game, the 2-1 win over Everton, were Paddy McNair (hamstring), Ander Herrera (rib), Chris Smalling (thigh), Jonny Evans (ankle), Ashley Young (groin), Phil Jones (hamstring), Jesse Lingard (knee) and Michael Carrick (ankle). Antonio Valencia then joined them after it was revealed he had a hamstring problem.
The number of injuries led Van Gaal to claim he had "never" seen such a situation in his entire career as a manager.
However, Herrera's fractured rib is not as serious as first feared, meaning the summer signing could be available for the match on Monday night. The 25-year-old may need a painkilling injection though. Another option in midfield, Carrick, is also nearing a return. The England international came through a behind-closed-doors game and should be in the squad for the match against the Baggies.
In defence, both Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are ready with both having returned to full training during the international break.
Despite the number of players of the treatment table in recent weeks, United have managed to win three of their last four games, propelling them up the table and into fourth-place.
Following the match at the Hawthorns against West Brom on Monday, United face Premier League pace-setters Chelsea and then Manchester City.
With such crucial games on the horizon, Van Gaal will be delighted to see his injury problems easing. Meanwhile the suspended Wayne Rooney remains out, but will return for the Manchester derby.
